Redbird - Los Angeles

This is a most beautiful dining venue, and the food is exquisite. Our family was there on a warm September evening, and as we were eating dessert the overhead covering pulled away to expose a a lovely twilight. The service here is friendly and inviting. Thank you.
A perfect evening! Took my girlfriend out for her birthday and couldn’t have had a better experience. All of the staff was very friendly/attentive and the food was awesome!
This is the 3rd time we've dined at Redbird. The first 2 times were 5-star across the board. Unfortunately, this visit did not measure up to our previous experiences. It was so-so. One person in our party said they wouldn't return, but I'm going to chalk it up to an off night. There was a wedding at their neighboring venue and they got slammed with early arriving guests for a 600-person wedding. It was insane and probably put them off their game in the service but they need to step it up. Too many fantastic options now in DTLA for just "good."
Amazing staff, amazing service, amazing and creative menu. Favorite in LA!
This was our first time having brunch at Redbird, although we have dined here for dinner a few times. I had the Congee, which was outstanding. The crab, corn, grits, egg all worked perfectly together. It's pretty rich and savory and would be great to share although it's not a huge portion. My BF and I shared one blueberry pancake which was delicious and also huge. He had the Basque baked eggs which he loved. It was also quite large and would be great to share. Both had bloody mary's. A plus!
Great service! We started with a cocktail at the bar with Christian? (I think that was his name) and he whipped up a bartenders choice drink for us which was amazing. Josh, their Sommelier, helped me decide between two bottles that paired amazing with all the food we ordered. Overall, fantastic!
We were celebrating my niece’s marriage. Sommelier provides excellent assistance in picking out the champagne. All the food was outstanding. Service was impeccable. A $500 night for the three of us with champagne and drinks but everything was perfect.
Amazing experience and wonderful restaurant!
Took my nephew and his wife who were visiting from out of state for brunch and was disappointed. No bread served at brunch. He had the soft shell crab sandwich which, actually was more bread than anything else. His wife had scrambled eggs with avocado ( she has food restrictions) and I had the Spanish eggs with chorizo and bacon which was ok. Overall, the place is very pretty and the service very good but the food and it’s presentation are nothing to write home about.
I must not be an adventurous enough eater, but wasn't thrilled with the food options. There wasn't much vegetarian, and not a chicken dish on the entire menu. Pork face was, however, an option! There was also a dessert with celery. Eek. I'm all for creative dishes but none of the menu items really appealed to me at all. There are similarly priced and creative restaurants that I LOVE (Tasting Kitchen, Gjelina, Osteria Mozza, etc) but Redbird isn't somewhere I'd visit again. I also feel like they have too many people visiting your table. The waitstaff is excellent and I appreciate their work, but for a romantic dinner I prefer not to have a different person at my table every 5 minutes lighting candles/filling water/asking how the food tastes/wiping crumbs/etc. Attentive service is one thing but it was disruptive. Would be a fun place for group dining or for drinks/apps but didn't love it for a romantic dinner.
Great place - love to come here every now and then. Always something new on the Menu. Great atmosphere sitting in the patio.
As always Redbird excels in every item
innovative and delicious food and cocktails, superlative service, and seemingly something new every time I visit. Everything a first class restaurant should be.
Reservations were honored. We asked for a quiet table ans our request was honored
Amazing food good service
Sat 45 min after reservation and everything else just went downhill from there. Food was great though!
First, Redbird has a great happy hour, in which we indulged before dinner. Second, the restaurant is very pretty, though bring a pillow, if you are below 5'8" and plan to sit in a chair, not the bench, on the patio. The chair is too low for the table.
We, a group of three, shared everything. Started with the grilled peppers and the sardines. Followed up with the duck and the halibut cooked with white beans and chard. All beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was excellent. The only drawback for this restaurant is the noise from the music. Each time the music stopped the sound level dropped multiple decibels. Such a relief. Still, definitely a wonderful restaurant.
The ambiance and food are top notch, but the service and people are the real gems of this restaurant. Definitely one of my favorite places.
Went for my husband’s birthday. Redbird was the perfect choice. Shoshonna, our server was excellent. Service was wonderful, food was amazing. The sommelier was kind enough to provide a port to go with our dessert. It’s was my husband’s first time at the restaurant and he cannot wait to go back.
Great historic venue. Beautiful dining setting for a classy or romantic evening.
Blah food, for all its elaborate ingredients and exotic descriptions, ALL TASTE exactly the same as one another (the rabbit, the goat, the pork, the broccolini, even the potatoes).
All tasted as if it was thrown together on the same oily sauté pan until it turned semi-dark brown and plopped in front of you in four individual cereal bowls. Eat it. Blah.
Been here 4 times. Beautiful place. Nice service. Food was underwhelming.
This is such a hidden gem right in the heart of LA. The service was attentive and the food outstanding. In my opinion the bar staff (shout out to Tobin) is by far the BEST in LA -- they serve up the best craft cocktails around. I absolutely LOVE Redbird!!
A unique way of ordering so you get just the right amount. We enjoyed family style and 7 “points” was the magic number for the two of us.
Our reservation was for 6:30, and at 7:30 the ceiling cover was opened, giving the end of our dinner a lovely ambience.
Delicious food, (loved especially the crab as a starter) but the best surprise just might have been the complimentary cheese muffins, kept warm in a tiny cloth draw sting. Yes, we ate every single one.
One of my favorite LA restaurants. And living on the Westside, it's the challenge of driving to downtown LA that keeps me from going more often! I had an excellent dinner here this past weekend with guests who had never been. Everything was perfect. Service, food, drinks, the ambience. Love the space so much. Highly recommend!
Loved the ambiance! Service was great and the brunch menu was amazing. We ordered the chilaquiles and lamb hash. Would come back!
We had the snap peas, the avocado salad, the scallops, and the duck with a half-bottle of Chateauneuf-du-pape; all excellent, and the service was just attentive enough without being obtrusive. The wine list was pretty adventurous, but pricey. Beautiful room. A good choice for a special occasion.
This is a must-do venue for date night, out of town visitors, business meals, etc. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, doted-on, satisfied, and valued! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful (be sure to sit outside weather permitting......gorgeous! I wish there were more entree choices but what we ordered was delicious. We are L.A Foodies and we will definitely go back!!!
Considering the prices, the portions were rather small. Especially the scallops and the porterhouse for two. Ambiance was great. The service very good and the valet parking overpriced.
The food, staff, and atmosphere are perfect. This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA! Also, it was our anniversary yesterday, and they brought our dessert out with a candle in it - so thoughtful. ❤️
great location, wonderful to have the open air seating once the roof tarp is retracted in the evening, great food, excellent service!
I’ve been covering a trial in downtown LA on and off for 5 months... it’s now required eating!!
Beautiful place food could be a little healthier
Great restaurant! Loved the ambiance and decor. Food was delicious and the wine list was great! We will definitely be back for sure!
The service and wait staff were great. The food was good but not special - the Hamachi Crudo was very good as was the Burrata but neither one was unique. Same goes for the scallops. In general, I thought the food was very heavy handed, over sauced and seasoned and lacked finesse. That said, I thought the duck was excellent with a unique and complex flavor. In general, this restaurant is overpriced for the portions and flavors you get.
sommelier was AWESOME
Excellent service, they definitely have the best staff in LA. The food itself was beyond my expectations. I'll definitely go back there!
We dined at Redbird for a special date night. It was beautiful in the restaurant and the food dishes were delicious. I enjoyed a few cocktails as well. Service was attentive. It was a very noisy environment (to be expected with the openness) once peak hours hit (after 630ish) , so not the best for a deep conversation but that didn't take away from our enjoyment!
The food good and service was excellent. The restaurant is a little noisy. Excellent front of house service and greeting staff.
Drinks and happy hour were fantastic. I would opt to sit at the bar if it’s available. The bartenders are extremely amiable and professional. Food was delicious and the space is beautiful. Would definitely return
Celebrated friend’s promotion. Service was great. Ambiance very upscale. Food was well-seasoned and balanced. Beef tartare and lamb were excellent. Burratta and scallops very average. The Brazilian cheese rolls were jyummy.... literally yummy. Maple Leaf drink was excellent too..
