Red Stripe - East Greenwich
I went to red Stripe on Saturday night for dinner. The service was great, the atmosphere was very nice, and my food was delicious!
Great food and great service
We have eaten many times at Red Stripe, in Providence. This was our first opportunity to try East Greenwich. The food and the staff did not disappoint.
Brittany is an amazing server! Super busy Friday night and still great service.
I ordered grecque mussels. The mussels were the worst I've ever had - maybe recooked? The shells were a decent size, the mussels inside were tiny - shrunken - tough. Not what I expect when I order mussels. Don't know what the problem was - hope they solve it!
Food was delicious.
We had such a good experience that I was moved to send the following email to the management:
"Dear Red Stripe East Greenwich manager: My friend and I tried your Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner on St. Patrick’s Day, and I want to tell you that we both agree: It’s the BEST Corned Beef & Cabbage we’d ever had in any restaurant (or at home, for that matter). We’d like to suggest that you add it to your regular menu. And not just on Thursdays – weekends, too! Maybe you can share your secret… How did you make the flavors so intense and delicious? The meat was so lean and tender. Even the carrots were so richly flavored. Tell me, tell me: Is it marinated, did you add wine, how did you do it? And why doesn’t everyone do it your way? Also, we loved our waitperson, Brittney. And the French Martinis. The entire experience was a joy. Bring back the Corned Beef, and we’ll be back for more." The Chef sent me a lovely reply – and even included some cooking tips.
Also, the ambient noise level at the East Greenwich location is good: Just enough to make you feel like you're in a 'happening" kind of place, but subdued enough that you can have a conversation. I also like the Providence location, but some have said that the Wayland Square location could benefit by adding some sound absorbent materials in the front room, at least. The East Greenwich location is better for folks who prefer a more subdued noise background.
We often use this location for family get-togethers. Had our favorite semi-circular window table. The food was good, as usual, and on St. Patrick's Day were amazed at how quiet it was. The downside being that the staff was a little thin on the ground and not very focused.
Lots of new faces at Red Stripe. Service remains impressive!!!
Too noisy couldn’t hear a thing .we couldn’t even hear the waiter.
One of the best kept secrets in Rhode Island. Great food, Great ambience, I cannot think of one bad or negative thing to say about Red Stripe. I cannot wait to go back and enjoy the food.
Red Stripe never disappoints. The roasted tomato soup is the best. This time, we also really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the paella. Always a good meal and an environment that is conducive to conversation.
Salmon always cooked perfect. Staff knows our drink order!
A very nice evening in every way.
Birthday dinner, loved it!
Great food, service and good gluten free options. It was helpful for the server to check with the kitchen to confirm what was gluten free.
I've always loved the food here in the past, but this time ravioli was undercooked. The dill sauce on top was strange too. Shepherds pie was too salty.
Bartender Al was very attentive and timely with our food and drink orders....good guy!
Was there on Valentines Day. Was busy. Food was excellent. Back room was open. A little noisy a bright. I think food is always good and it was no exception that night. I will go back.
We’ve been going to EG red stripe weekly for over a year. This past Thursday was a nightmare & actually ruined our wedding anniversary. We won’t be returning unless we are desperate. The new staff is the worst. I don’t know what’s happening there! Now that our favorite regulars have left we will be as well. Sorry to Mason, Nina, Nadia & Terry we just can’t go anymore because of our disappointment.
The food was delicious and the service was superb. Can't wait to go back.
I want to give this place a five star rating. Food is very very good; we have always received great service.
The problem...... it is so freaking noisy, it is miserable. Pretty bad when you are sitting across the table from one another and have to text.
Worse are the table set ups as you go to the back of the restaurant, they are set up on a long bank an are too close to each other. A “table for two” easily becomes a party of 6 , each trying to outtalk the other!
Our waiter was very attentive and our food was delicious!!!
Valentines menu was great
Absolutely the best for a birthday brunch on a Sunday! Justin took great care of us along with Mickey. They made great menu recommendations and everyone was so pleased with the food. Justin made the day very special and made us feel like we were the only patrons in the room. Thank you Red Stripe - we will be back!
Waiter seemed to forget that he had a table to serve. Perhaps he was more interested in socializing with his fellow servers?
Food is always great. Best grilled cheese sandwich in RI! Service was prompt and waitress polite
As always Red Stripe in East Greenwich is an excellent choice for good food, good service and a nice atmosphere.
After ordering, 30 mins later were told selections not available and had to change the order for three of the guests. Kitchen couldn’t handle the volume, long time for everything to come out on top of making changes. Service was slow by wait staff, appetizer dishes left on table, had to go to the bar to get a drink because waitress didn’t come around. Manager came by to apologize but didn’t offer any drinks or meal discount for the poor service, overall food quality was OK, nothing to brag about.
Mason was a great server
Excellent service at the bar. Salmon cooked perfectly!
The food was outstanding but the service was very slow. Not the fault of the server but the cooks. (However server never ask about what we wanted to drink). We arrived at 2pm but didn't receive our main course until 3 pm
Good food and dervuce
I have been there many times and enjoyed very good service and food. This time, I ate at the bar and the service was the worst ever, the food was average. The tall bartender could not have cared less. The person next to me had to get up and walk around the bar to get his attention.
I will eat in the dining room in the future.
Server was exceptional.
We had our kids and they were beyond accommodating
Great burger but it could have been cooked a bit more my moms and mine especially mine but we didn’t want to say anything
But it was still good and we will be back
Best to come when it’s not that busy because it’s quieter
New Years Eve
Service was very poor
