Everyone at Red Stag is so very pleasant and helpful - you will always feel like an honored guest at this delightful restaurant. Our waitress, Angel, was absolutely lovely and took fabulous care of all of the guests in our party. We all ordered different meals and each meal was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Their bartender is outstanding. We keep returning to the Red Stag - it is our favorite in the area.
We had lunch there to celebrate my friends birthday. The ambience and service was excellent! The food was top notch as well. We will definitely be back!
This was an amazing find! The food was very unique, done to perfection and imaginative. We will definitely be back.
Why do you ask if it’s a special occasion and not do some token response at dinner?
We had a great table, warm and comfortable. Our waiter, Harrison, was just about perfect: knew the menu well, appeared at just the right intervals. A great spot, even the parking valets were special.
Really excellent service, we came for our anniversary and we were treated like royalty. My husband had the ribeye which was one of the best he’s had and I had the duck. We were treated with a dessert on the house for our special occasion. Overall would highly recommend for a classy dinner.
Service was excellent. The elk loin is a great meal. It is also part of the “pre-fixe” tasting menu, which can be had with optional wine pairing or premium wine pairing. We went for the premium and had a delightful experience. The lounge also has a nice selection of single malts!
Food and service are great, but the drinks were a little strong for lunchtime.
I love this restaurant.. for all occasions but lately I have been meeting my clients there to have a great meal and go over details ... great place for everything
We had been to the Red Stag previously and had a stellar experience. This past Friday's dinner however was not... We began by being seated one table in from the bar. Not ideal to say the least. Adjacent to us were 3 people that were beyond "casual" - tee shirts, shorts, jeans and hats with their sunglass on top. Hard to fathom they were allowed in the restaurant. Our server was fabulous and professional and our salads (wedge and the pear/endive) were over the top great. But, alas, our entrees missed the mark. Not sure who was manning the kitchen? Both my husband's filet and my halibut were WAY overcooked and not only overcooked, but charred. My husband finally said something to our server (who was mortified). She took the meal away, and noticing my overcooked and charred fish wanted to redo my meal as well. I said "no" since I had eaten the inside part that was edible as well as the tomatoes and mushrooms and was full. But we then had to wait 15-20 minutes or more until my husband's new meal was delivered. So I ate most of my meal alone, and then he ate his meal alone.
Then while we were waiting on my husband's dinner to be prepared (part 2), a large bachelor party arrived. All were in tee shirts, hats, shorts, jeans etc. Clearly had been enjoying Asheville's craft beer scene. Is there no dress code in this restaurant?????
We got through the meal and the manager (without us asking) took the liberty of taking the 2 entrees off our bill which was nice. But it was a less than stellar experience to say the least.
Not sure we'll go back for some time...
What we remembered as a quiet, romantic and special restaurant with memorable food was a totally different experience the 2nd time around.
The hotel and the service however, are impeccable.
The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. My Date and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and are still talking about it almost a week later. I highly recommend going to this restaurant and if we make it back to Asheville I will be eating there again.
Excellent service. Waiter was very knowledgeable of the dishes and made good recommendations. Ambiance is romantic, quiet and interesting!
Pocked this place completely random when passing through town on our anniversary weekend. Hands down the best meal, service, and ambiance we experienced all weekend. It was $120 meal after tip for 2 people and worth every penny. We will make visits here again for sure.
Excellent food and service.
The food was delicious and the celery mashed potatoes were very good. Our waiter was not as attentive as I hoped he would be. He never came back to fill water glasses or to check on us.
Excellent on all counts. No complaints at all. Great service from David, delicious food, rustic atmosphere which we enjoyed. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion with a memorable meal. Not that this affected us because we were seated a little out of the noise range, but I personally would not take young children here. There was a family in the dining room who I thought were a little too noisy. I do know a couple came in and were seated closeby and asked to have their table moved. I would have done the same thing. This is a fine dining restaurant and certainly more on the expensive side. I would expect a perfect experience.
Service was great, drinks overpriced, $15.00 each, my Mule tasted like cheap Canadian mist, husbands drink was good but came in a tiny little glass, about 2 swigs. The deep fried lobster app had raw batter (paid 20 for that), main course was fine, filet and pork rack, cheesecake. Nothing we ate had a "WOW" factor. Some tasted just like my cooking. Meats needed seasoning but were cooked perfect just lacked flavor. Service staff was very good. Bill came to 160. 00, not worth it. I was looking for a culinary experience that would make me say,"wow, is that good". Sorry to say that did not happen.
Fabulous meal! Loved the tasting menu and the cocktails. Great place for business or gathering with friends.
My wife and I had Easter brunch at the Red Stag, and everything was top-notch. The featured cocktail special was a lavender and crushed strawberry mimosa that was incredible; service was attentive and personal but not obtrusive; and our meals were perfect. My wife had the peppercorn-encrusted prime rib, and I had the Scottish Salmon. Just writing this makes my taste buds tingle!
Good food, great service.
The ambience is so cozy but we did notice the furniture and decor is looking a little banged up. The food is delicious and the cocktails are amazing!
Interesting interior decor based on a hunting theme. The food selection was good with a few wild game choices. The waiter was excellent.
We had a great time with my family for a get-away! We didn't stay in the Bohemian, but we made dinner reservations and were quite pleased. The atmosphere was cozy and rustic and the bartender did exactly what we said with our drinks. It was the best dinner I have had in a little while.
Everything was great, service, Food ambiance
Seriously we have never said anything about all the places we have eaten, check it out, the meal both not good service very nice . We have been here many times normally love the hash browns for breakfast but dinner is out for us. We stay inSavannah many times and are seldom unhappy Thanks we love Open Table
Great evening , the service was excellent , the 5 course wine dinner was wonderful. We had a chance to meet many new friends. I would highly recommend the event to everyone.
We went there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Just OK
I’ve never been disappointed with my experience at Reg Stagg
Outstanding meals for everyone in our party! Corinne, our waitress, is exceptional!! You will be so fortunate if she serves you. The entire staff is so pleasant - we always LOVE hanging out at the Red Stag. Chef does an amazing job.
Red Stag Grill is our favorite restaurant in Asheville. The food is delicious and the service exemplary! The Elk Loin was amazing and the Carrot cake to die for! The service is ALWAYS excellent!
Perfect as always. We never miss having lunch or dinner here every trip to Asheville !!!
Great service, great quality food. Unique hip vibe.
Pork Chop was ordered medium rare and was served rare to uncooked.
We had a wonderful dinner experience!
Fantastic dinner. Brought my mom and sister for their first stay in Asheville. Loved the waiter. He was the best- so entertaining and full of information. Food was beyond amazing- he had great wine pairings! Must visit- and if possible stay at the hotel. This place is amazing! I’ve stayed at the Grove Park every time we have been in Asheville and I LOVE the grove park but the Hramd Bohemian tops rooms by a mile! Must stay!
Only slight grumble is that the chairs are not high enough for the tables - felt like a little kid - but waiter brought us ladies cushions to sit on. (And I’m 5’8)
Over all good. The only poor part was 4 of us had eggs Benedict and all orders of eggs were over cooked. No loose your yolk at all
This my 3rd time coming to Red Stag and I think it keeps getting better and better every time. The food is fantastic and the service is great. It's probably my favorite restaurant in Asheville.
great location as you exit the Biltmore Estate. Food was excellent and had a fairly wide range on menu. Carrot cake was awesome!! service was very friendly and helpful
Great experience and fantastic tasting food. Our server, Paul was very attentive and did everything right. We look forward to going there again next time we're in Asheville.
