My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Red Stag. The restaurant itself is very cool with lots of ( you guessed it ) hunting decor. It's a dark moody ambiance which was very romantic. Our server Brian was wonderful and gave us great recommendations. Everything we had from the giant bavarian pretzel to the Elk Loin and Carrot Cake was expertly prepared. It is pricey but you should be expecting that before you go in. You get what you pay for and we thought our experience was worth every penny.

We live local in Asheville and we love coming to Red Stag for Sunday Brunch every weekend. The food is excellent and they have the best champagne selection in Asheville. John is an excellent server and he always anticipates what we will need and goes the extra mile. Overall Superb experience!

We had a wonderful at Red Stag Grill and definitely will return on our next trip to Asheville! The ambience and decor were absolutely amazing! Highly recommend for a great dining experience especially for date night!

I brought my son for dinner for his birthday. This is one of his favorite restaurants so we happily obliged. We had a lovely meal but the cherry tomatoes were way past due in the salad. In such a fine dining establishment we would expect a sampling of food before it is served to guests.

Great service and ambiance. No complaints about food - it was just ok. I loved the truffle butter with the &10 bread service. With all of the outstanding places in Asheville it’s tough to stand out.

Great ambiance, service and food. We both had the filet for our entree and crab cake for appetizer, both delicious. Highly recommend the Quarantine Fatigue cocktail.

Just ok breakfast, nothing special what-so-ever. The food wasn't in any way bad, just not up to par with the hotel and ambiance.

Such a great experience!! The food and drinks were great. Our server was very friendly and didn’t make us feel rushed at all. We hung out for almost 3 hours. The restaurant is beautiful. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town

Enjoyed the fireplace and setting. Service was pretty slow, not enough wait staff. Would like to see an expanded menu. Enjoyed the charcuterie. Smoked chopped chicken salad was excellent. Wine selections were well chosen, Sonoma Chardonnay was excellent!

Very cool place. Funky and Lodge like decor. Whomever designed this place did an excellent job. Food was really good. We all had steaks and a couple appetizers of pretzels. Would have liked a less spicy option of dips for the kids though. The only complaint is that it took an hour for our food to arrive, which made for a very late dinner. Service was fine, needed a bit more communication, but fine. Would definitely come back (maybe earlier) and try the New Zealand Elk. Look forward to staying at the hotel that hosts the restaurant as well.

Everything about our dinner at The Red Stag was perfect. The service was the best we have ever had, the food was unbelievable and the ambiance was wonderful.

Our second visit to the Grand Bohemian and Red Stag Grill, and we could not have been more pleased. Service was attentive, but not obtrusive. They have an interesting interpretation on the ceasar salad that was appreciated. We both had scallops which were perfect in regards to the portion (5) for our appetite and the carrot cake was HUGE.

The food was AMAZING and cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive and the ambiance was perfect.

Great vibe, service was on point, our meal was excellent, had to take some home afterwards. The wine list is a trap for the unfamiliar, very overpriced for many of the stalwart Cali cabs, but if you look further, some of the Argentina wines are not rediculousy overpriced.

Valentine’s Day

I went to this restaurant for Valentine's Day this year and the food was amazing. I was upset at first about not having a full menu to choose from; however, the options they had for the special day were very thoughtful and delicious. My server went above and beyond to find out what kind of olives were served as they are the only olives I have ever liked. The desert was the best! If you ever go, you need to get their Old Fashioned. It is the best Old Fashioned I have ever tasted in my life. The orange zest made the drink.

The hotel and the restaurant were beautiful. Our food was good, but it was kind of a weird "brunch menu". We expected more "brunchy" items on the menu like "steak and eggs", "French toast", etc.

Absolutely fabulous dinner. The best steak we have had since moving to North Carolina from Chicago!

I can be a little critical of restaurants because I expect it all to be good: food, wine, service, ambience, noise level. At the Red Stag Inn they manage to make everything perfect. The restaurant has the perfect ambience. It is quiet and calm with cozy lighting in a warm wood-paneled restaurant. The service could not be more friendly. The wait staff don't act "superior" like you get in many higher end restaurants. They enhance the experience and ensure the guests are comfortable and have everything they need. Now for the food. I have eaten a lot of steaks in my life but the dry-aged ribeye at the Red Stag has been the best so far. Aged to perfection, cooked exactly right and presented in the most appetizing way on a thick wooden board garnished with vegetables that were also perfectly cooked. They are very few restaurant experiences that can match this. We are looking forward to going back.

My partner loved the wine pairing with every course. My favorite was the elk loin.
