Great chef's selection menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
Excellent steak with perfect sear on the outside! So much flavor without using a selected sauce. Vegetable sides were also perfection: sautéed kale & roasted carrots with dill & tarragon!
Beautiful lodge feel, quiet and cozy feel. Our server was good but had too many tables. The Elk carpaccio was amazing, as were the bison sirloin and the best short rib ever - bison - with perfect risotto. Highly recommend for game selections.
Very nice. Dinner was excellent and our server was very nice.
It was very dark in the restaurant. The menu had some good choices but not too many. The bison short rib was good, trout was kind of dry…. Not fond of the kale or blue grits and the risotto wasn’t bad. The ice cream came from the freezer so it was hard to get the spoon into it. The waiter was very good.
An eclectic and elegant restaurant. Our meal was excellent
Food items on menu were unavailable. The overall meal wasn’t worth what we paid for.
Service was okay but not great.
Unique atmosphere with game heads and antler chandeliers. We chose the chefs special along with premium wines and it was well worth it. I main dish was both trout which was cooked perfectly and elk steak accompanied by a pre-dinner salad and a fantastic dessert. We would eat here again a minute
Very nice restaurant.. loved the vibe and the food was very good! Portions were very small for price but overall very good.
Dining here was a bad experience. The music and ambiance was horrible. The scallops were cooked well but the sauce ruined the dish. The only saving thing was the carrot cake which was good.
Clean, efficient, no fuss, lovely food, great ambiance. loved the whole experience.
As long as you don't want budget this is a fairly unique experience. I recommend the elk.
The restaurant is very ambient. Dark rich wood, lots of deer horns and heads everywhere. The art in the hotel is beautiful. The chef's tasting menu was less than impressive. The elk was raw... cooked 2/3 on one side and briefly turned for the other side. The "tomato gravy" desperately needed salt. The steamed kale needed to be chopped before steaming. The chocolate cake was typical. The price for all of this was too high. I would not recommend this because of the value for the money. When we left, my wife and I both agreed that the whipped potatoes were the best part of the evening.
Great ambience for dinner for two. Fantastic service, food was just okay for fine dining.
Great setting. Food was very good. Even called to confirm the day of reservation.
Great meal with great food service and friends the pretzel is a must and the tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly
The food was amazing and our server was great! Excellent experience!
We tried the 4 course meal. Excellent. Service was also exceptional
The Decour and ambience was excellent as well as the service. Although the food was very delicious it was very overpriced for what we received. Most of the entrées did not come with any sides including the special which was a steak for two at 32 oz. for 135. If you wanted any thing else it was all à la carte. We both opted for the duck entrée which included a small spoon of mashed potatoes and some sautéed spring peas. It was tasty but lacked anything special for the 35. Price tag. Many beautiful restaurants in town that offer much more food and value
Left feeling dissatisfied and disappointed
Outstanding food and service.
Excellent food and service. Best Belgian waffles in town.
Food was very good.
The food, drinks, and service was excellent...five stars.
Everything was excellent with the exception of my meal. I ordered the Bison short ribs which were delicious, what little they served. You only get two short ribs with the meal, which makes it a very poor value considering what it cost. Very disappointed for such a nice restaurant, I had expected better from them. I would still recommend the restaurant, just don't get the short ribs if you are hungry.
The waitress was the best! The manager and host were not as nice and friendly. I don't think we will be coming back it just didn't feel right being there. We spent a lot of money it was our Anniversary and it could have been better overall.
The Red Stag is a wonderful place to have lunch in Biltmore!
Parking is easy (valet and free!), the food and service are always great, and it’s quiet at lunch and easy to converse..
The filet was juicy and tender. Salads very fresh.
Loved the food and atmosphere. We had the chef's 4 course tasting menu & enjoyed every bite.
Also, highly recommend the "PillowTalk" drink. If you like a sweet cocktail.
Great experience. Recommend
Service was outstanding!
Great food. The atmosphere was super unique. Highly recommend the bison short ribs. The antelope can be a little dry so nothing above medium rare. The cocktails quite tasty
Celebrated my husband’s birthday and we had a wonderful meal
Everyone’s dinners were great. Elk loin was the best. Service was very good. Place could use a little updating. Seems little worn and dated.
Great service. Our waiter was excellent! He knew his wines!
We ordered the 4 course meal: Salad,ok; trout thin/over cooked, blue grits/kale-undercooked. Redeeming was the elk and chocolate lava cake!
It'a very good place to have brunch. It's almost great but not quite.
Very poor service...would have expected better service for a premium hotel restaurant. Wait time for food over 30 minutes and service staff including the restaurant receptionist.
Lovely restaurant - my steak was melt in your mouth. The waitress was very friendly and super attentive.
We are from out of town and had reservations for Saturday. We stopped by Friday to check the place out, had some great wine and the cheese platter for a snack. We really liked the place it was very busy and up scale. Dinner was a little disappointing, we dressed nice but casual and we found half the people having dinner wore shorts, that kind of degraded the ambience of the dining area. But we will definitely stop at bar next time we're there and enjoy the wine cheese platter and atmosphere.
We were in town shopping for a vacation home and our realtor recommended the restaurant. The food and drinks were amazing. Our server, Brian B., went above and beyond to ensure a pleasurable dining experience. We will definitely be dining there again when we are back in the area.
