Red Square at Mandalay Bay Ratings and Reviews
Pricing was what is to be expected from a resort but I was hoping for a limited menu done well. Scallops were over salted, IMHO, but prepared well. guest We were not pleased with the petite filet steak and did not find the asparagus prepared well. TheKobe sliders went over well. Overall it was an adequate meal it served its purpose. The wait staff abandoned us/left us alone after they served the meal. Great cocktail and wine list.
Food (steaks) were great. risotto=no, mac/cheese=yes. We had a rather intense waiter (I cant think of another word) who forgot our Groupon (which makes these prices VERY fair) - didnt seem like an accident although it probably was -- pays to go through restaurant receipts line by line. Atmosphere=great.
Was under the impression that this was a Russian restaurant but it is not. Except for vodka and an American version of stroganoff, this is no different than any other average American restaurant. The ambiance and decor was very good, but we were very disappointed at the selection of food. We recognize that the prices in Vegas are higher than most hometowns...it is expected in resort areas, however, these prices are outrageous for what you get
The food was mediocre and the service non-existent. The raw oysters were the best part of the meal, they were fresh and tasty. Our waiter didn't check back until we were almost through with our meals. Nice miss on his part to sell a few more drinks, he was to busy talking to another table. The restaurant was pretty cool, felt authentic to the theme. Upgrade your service and your food and you could have a pretty decent place going!
Our experience was great. Loved everything we ordered. Everyone enjoyed the artisan cheeses an especially our individual entrèe. My seafood linguine was delicious and the seafood were fresh and it was seasoned just right. Would consider going back to Red Square for sure.
I would recommend Red Square for their combo board with meats and cheeses and the caviar selections which is presented so nicely. We were not happy with the special for the evening which was the filet and lobster, one filet was over cooked and the other seemed very hard to cut. I would only go back to Red Square for the appetizers and drinks.
