RED SKY Tapas & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely love the dueling pianos. Great music, good food and decent prices. You will never see the same show twice no matter how many times you go. It is very loud. Don't take anybody with sensitive ears unless they have good earplugs. Don't expect to be having much conversation once the show starts. Expect to be hoarse the next day from signing all night long. Bring cash for tips if you want to hear your favorite sing along song. They'll try almost anything.
Visited Red Sky for a Valentine’s dinner and had a great experience, as usual. We’ve been here several times now and the food is top notch. Try the chicken pot pie!! The service (Justin) was great and the evening entertainment was as well; I have not visited for the dueling pianos on the weekend yet, but a pianist was playing for the Valentines dinner service, which was a nice touch. We will be back soon!
This is a great neighborhood hot spot! The menu is wonderful and the chef makes sure to change it up occasionally to keep it exciting. It is never boring. Drinks are a good pour! The owner is always present and really cares a out his restaurant which makes it a success.
This place is a great Cobb County spot. No highway driving, plenty of FREE parking, no alley ways to walk thru, just go from the car to the restaurant. Friday and Saturday you will have a blast I just enjoy dueling pianos - Sunday brunch is good as well.. Happy hour is pretty good too (has food and drinks on it).
The food is just yummy.. Don't let "tapas" deter you. Everything here seems to be great. My most recent visit, I had desert for the 1st time.. Tres Leches Cake..... I will get it again.. They have the best lemon pepper wings.. yeah I know its basic, but do you know how many places f**k up this staple. lol
I say at least try it 2 times.. just make sure one of those times is a Friday or Saturday night. after 8pm :-)
This is a bit hard for larger groups (Friday/Saturday) depending on the time you show up. The later the worse it is, unless you lucked up on a reservation. But you can still pull it off.
Aside from that I don't have much bad to say...
We went to drink have a little food but mostly to listen to the dueling pianos
I made a reservation so I assumed I be in front of the bar so we could hear
We were in the back corner when bar fills up, people standing, they probably didn’t even have a reservation we can’t hear or see
I won’t go back if that is where I have to sit to try to hear the wonderful entertainment
Please let Terry know how disappointed I was
I have been going here for about 10 years and meeting girlfriends every few months. The staff is wonderful, notably, Jeremy and Krista. The owner comes around to our table every time we are there. The food seems to get better and better and there is something for everyone, picky and or those who have allergies. Their tuna tartare stands out, as does the lamb meatballs. The small pizzas and egg rolls are great also, and I love the way they are always adding new treats. The birthday and other celebrations with duo pianos on weekends, is a hoot and quite entertaining. This is also a great place to take your kids to or go after a sporting event. Hats off to Red Sky!
All I wanted to do was take my wife to a fun dinner for our 16 year Anniversary, while watching dueling pianos and what we got was the exact opposite. The minute we walked in the door the hostess or maybe he was the owner was arguing with patrons about reservations and he was very rude to them. I went to ask if our reservation was still valid and he got snippy with me. He took us to a booth which I know I asked for but it was right by the kitchen and the bathroom. Our server came over about 10 minutes into us sitting and asked us what we would like to drink. We did not know so He said he would give us some time to decide well we didn’t know it would turn into 15 minutes. While we had already decided he was too busy chatting with the other servers and then just walking into the back of the house. I asked him to suggest which wine was good and the one he did suggest tasted like cheap wine that they poured into a good bottle. The only good thing was when we did get our tapas they came out fast. The bad thing is they came out cold and tasted like garbage and dog food. We had the lobster and corn dip which tasted like mayonnaise mixed with fake lobster meat and canned corn the chips were stale that came with it. We got the pork tacos and they tasted like ground up dog meat. The fried green tomatoes were hard but the only good thing was the sauce and goat cheese but how can you go wrong with goat cheese it comes out of a tube. We got the lemon pepper chicken wings and I’m not sure where the lemon pepper was but they weren’t terrible they just weren’t lemon pepper. We were going to stay to listen to the dueling pianos which would’ve probably been the best thing out of the whole experience but we couldn’t force ourselves to get anything else or spend another dollar.
After arriving it took about 30 minutes to get a drink. Our food came very fast. Ordered the bacon wrapped scallops which were just ok~ not cooked through the center enough. The buffalo calamari is good~ frozen calamari~ doctored up. Martini's were good and priced fairly~ Shots were small and pricey~ 7.50 for a shot is a bit much!
Overall had a great time but definitely would only go for a special occasion. Our server was just ok~ not very friendly or personable.
An excellent menu with a variety of unique tapas dishes that are always well prepared and delicious. The service is excellent. The owner/manager Terry is a terrific host and is always very welcoming. This is one of our favorite neighborhood places.
They also have an excellent Sunday brunch (not a buffet) with some very different dishes that are a great value. (My favorite: the "Southern Benny" - open biscuit with a fried chicken breast, egg, bacon and duck gravy. Wow!)
We went on a Friday evening to hear the dueling pianos. I was celebrating my 40th birthday. We were almost an hour late and they held our table. It was a wonderful and unique experience! Highly recommend going for a fun evening out or for a special occasion (not for the easily offended or for children in my opinion). We are already planning our next evening there!
I'd only been to Red Sky once before, when they first opened and we lived nearby. Now my daughter lives near there, and we wanted a place for a special Christmas get-together. I balked, since I didn't think the place was suitable for a group with 3 Tweens. But half our group are vegetarians, one is gluten-free, and the tapas menu was irresistible. Long story short - we had the perfect evening. There was something for everyone, everybody shared, the server was fantastic, and we even had room for dessert. 💗💗
We had been there for dueling pianos once before and wanted to come back. On this visit, the piano players were like bad DJ's - talked more than they played. Prodding the audience for tips constantly! And from the beginning of the show! There was a birthday in the audience, so the opening number was - "Let's Get Drunk and Screw" by request. The whole thing had the class of a bad fraternity party.
We were there for a bourbon pairing. The staff was accommodating, professional, and fast in service. Between serving drinks, food, and keeping our water glasses filled, they were great. Didn't miss a step. The food was tasty, and the several bourbons were great. I've been going to Red Sky since it opened 9 years ago, and I still rate it top notch!
We did a double date night for the dueling pianos. Arrived early to eat and chat prior to the music. The food was excellent and the pianos were very entertaining and funny. Highly recommended.
One of the owners visited our table and asked how things were going and chatted us up. Very appreciated.
The four of us were very impressed with the overall food quality and service, but there were a couple of menu items that were a bit lackluster the blackened ahi tuna was bland and not memorable and the fried green tomatoes were not cooked all the way. Everything else was excellent from the cocktails down to the dessert. Super stars were the lobster corn dip, the bacon wrapped dates, Buffalo calamari and the barbecue ribs. For dessert the flan was amazing and the tres leches cake was to die for. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to try several different things in one meal and the more friends you bring the better.
SERVICE IS A LITTLE SLOW, AND OUR WAITER NEVER WROTE DOWN OUR ORDERS, SO OUR FOOD WAS WRONG QUITE A BIT. THERE WAS 11 IN OUR PARTY. THAT IS A SERVER ERROR, NOT NECESSARILY A RESTAURANT ERROR. THE SATURDAY NIGHT VIBE, IS AS ALWAYS, THE MOST FUN! WE HAVE GONE A FEW TIMES, AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO. BEST DATE NIGHT SPOT IN THE AREA. VERY ADULT. REFRESHING.
This is the third straight year that we have celebrated my birthday here and it certainly won't be the last! The service was fantastic, as was the food and drink. The dueling pianos from Mike and Marty kept us entertained and singing along all night. The only complaint was they could have played longer!!!! Thank you again for a wonderful night!
