Outstanding service! They even recognized our anniversary with a delicious cheesecake for desert.
We came for our pre anniversary dinner. It was amazing. After a terrible experience at Beach House the day before, this was so refreshing! Hannah our server was awesome! They gave us cheesecake for our anniversary. The hostess was awesome! Food and views incredible. We wanted to come back again if we could get a reservation.
The food was absolutely amazing. We are on vacation and wanted a nicer restaurant and Red Salt was exactly that. The menu is fantastic and your servers were great! Would highly recommend
Great food great service ! Best on Kauai
The service was impeccable! Everything that was recommended by the waiter was amazing. We had the Ahi tuna. We had the Mahi and that was amazing as well. The fish was like butter and almost melted in your mouth. Extremely fresh, and no fishy taste. We were under dressed, as we were staying at the hotel, but they made us feel welcome. Perfect for a fancy night out. The prices are a little more expensive, but so worth every penny spent!!
This restaurant was disappointing. Service is excellent. Food is fair. I got sick from the chicken. The chicken was over cooked and tasted funny. The sliders were okay but 18 dollars for hamburger seems high. My husband’s butterfish was bland and it was served over rice cauliflower and edamame. Not tasty. I wish I could say it was terrific but we felt that it was okay but not worthy of fine dining status
Our food was delicious . Favs were the sashimi appetizer , scallop appetizer , filet mignon melted in mouth and the butterfish . Dessert of mango passion fruit cheesecake w caramel drizzle amazing
Great food and drinks! The service was very responsive and attentive.
Food was excellent with exquisite tastes.
Always our favorite when we come to Kauai..it has never disappointed and Noah is beyond fantastic. We cannot recommend it more, had the chef’s tasting menu and was an incredible
Great tasting food and presentation. Unique flavors from a top chef. Pricey though.
Food, drinks, and service were very good. We tried the tempura ahi roll, and maybe it just wasn't our thing. I could definitely tell the quality of the meat, but personally would have loved more flavor to it. The entrees were fantastic. My wife got the Mahi and ate the 'avocado salsa' that came with it despite hating avocado. I had the braised beef short ribs and it was very good. Overall, it was a great experience.
The food was good. Our favorite was great scallops. Service was slow, maybe because we were there when it opened. The server was good, just overall slow
What a fabulous meal!! Great place to celebrate our anniversary. Best one we’ve had on Kauai! Food was delicious, service was excellent, ambiance was intimate & relaxed. Would definitely recommend this place & will return for sure!
This is a wonderful restaurant. Beautiful space and extraordinary food.
For the type of restaurant and the cost associated with it, my family expected more than mediocre. The wait staff was young and did not seem well trained. The food was ok...nothing spectacular.
Great place for a romantic dinner!
Everything was incredible especially our service! Our waiter Noah was above and beyond amazing! Bravo 👏 Bravo
Had a wonderful experience. Our server was Justin and he was incredible!
I thought people on opentable might have been being too picky or tough on the restaurant. My husband and I I went for a special dinner on our honeymoon because when you google this restaurant it’s supposed to be a must go to. We were sadly disappointed that this restaurant did not meet our expectations. The restaurant is in the main lobby of the hotel and not separated out making it feel like a restaurant in airport. The drinks were ok and the food was ok. Nothing to write home about.
Customer service was great. Food was great. Inside a hotel lobby with view of pool and ocean. Good place.
Overall was not impressed with this place. They’re serving a much smaller/limited menu than what they show online. Only 1 or 2 sushi items as appetizers, none of the other sushi is available. Same thing with the steaks, only 2 available compared to the very full menu online. They were nice enough to give us a free dessert when we mentioned that the items we went there for a weren’t even available. We got the filet and crispy tofu, both were pretty bland. I wouldn’t expect that for the prices they charge. They ran out of mashed potatoes so they were only giving small portions with meals that were supposed to come with them and you couldn’t order them as a side. A lot of the tables are halfway into the lobby so it doesn’t feel like you’re even in a restaurant. It really was not worth it for the price - food offerings, food taste, ambiance - none of it was very good and could not justify a $40+ entree price.
Red Salt is my favorite restaurant in Kauai. Food is always spectacular! Great wine list! Great service!!
Enjoyed our meal and good service. It was our first indoor dining over a year, I wish the restaurant made use of the tables near windows vs in the center of the dining room. Always one of our favorites and we look forward to returning.
There has NEVER been a disappointing meal at the Red Salt! Our server, Noah, was excellent.
Delicious cocktails. Nice portions and preparations.
Food was excellent! Dustin who was our server was outstanding!
First time here - and a very nice experience! Our waiter was excellent and the food was delicious. Atmosphere is a bit tough given Covid and all - so will try it again post-pandemic to see if a bit livelier.
Our best experience so far! It’s our 4th night here and this place was absolutely outstanding! Service was great! Food was on point, and it’s so clean you can eat off the floor! Total perfect 10!
Food was good, but not nearly for the price charged. Excellent tuna roll, but the service and ambiance was subpar and certainly subpar for such prices paid. Have heard great things from locals and tourists alike, so this could be a product of coming out of the Covid shutdowns.
High price equals high quality expectations, expectations that were easily met, great meal
The food was great. Service was great. The ambiance lacked. There are restaurants with nicer ambiance than Red Salt. The prices were about 20% too high. The bill fir 3 people for food & drink (1 drink) per person was $100/person. Way too high for a night out In Kauai.
Usually Red Salt gets 5 stars across the board (other than sound level). However, last nights fish Vanilla bean Mahi Mahi was dry and the pan roasted chicken lacked adequate seasoning. The chicken was bland. This was a obvious misstep for this restaurant which usually ranks high on our list.
We’ve eaten at most restaurants in Poipu but hadn’t made it to Red Salt yet because I’d heard it wasn’t great for kids (fancy and quiet). We finally escaped for an evening sans children and Red Salt didn’t disappoint. The tables were distanced for COVID and the restaurant was full but the noise level stayed low and our server Ashley was outstanding and made great recommendations. I had a hard time picking from all of the great choices but ended up with a gin Collins (refreshing, not too sweet, plenty of alcohol and quantity) with the sashimi to start and a glass of white with the mahi mahi with forbidden rice and was very satisfied. My husband had the ribeye with brussel sprouts so and was very happy and full and we split the chocolate cake for dessert. Would definitely go again.
It just didn’t do it for me ... I thought I was eating in a cafeteria.
We enjoyed the entrees, the butterfish and vegetable dinner were outstanding. I think Red Salt makes the best Mai Tais on the island.
We had a wonderful experience. Noah was a great waiter. He was awesome...
The butterfish was one of the best meals I had on the island!
It’s a hotel lobby restaurant, so not quiet nor intimate. The ambiance was a bit sterile. They had run out of some items and even got back-up vegetables wrong. Chicken dish was over-cooked. Each plate has something g wrong our missing. For a top and pricier restaurant, this was mediocre. Cocktails were good and well/presented.
Me and wife both eat vegetarian and we went to the restaurant seeing they have a vegetarian menu. We looked at the menu before head and out of 4 dishes in vegetarian menu, we both were excited to try the Spinach and Mushroom Ravioli. While ordering we were told that they ran out of Ravioli and that’s something we were not expecting at all. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm so it was little disappointing that it’s early dinner and still the dish is not available. We are on our babymoon and food is something which is on top our priority list so not getting something that my wife really needed was disappointing.
