It’s a hotel lobby restaurant, so not quiet nor intimate. The ambiance was a bit sterile. They had run out of some items and even got back-up vegetables wrong. Chicken dish was over-cooked. Each plate has something g wrong our missing. For a top and pricier restaurant, this was mediocre. Cocktails were good and well/presented.
Me and wife both eat vegetarian and we went to the restaurant seeing they have a vegetarian menu. We looked at the menu before head and out of 4 dishes in vegetarian menu, we both were excited to try the Spinach and Mushroom Ravioli. While ordering we were told that they ran out of Ravioli and that’s something we were not expecting at all. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm so it was little disappointing that it’s early dinner and still the dish is not available. We are on our babymoon and food is something which is on top our priority list so not getting something that my wife really needed was disappointing.
The best Ahi I’ve ever had. The food is outstanding. The service and ambiance are just ok.
By far the best meal on the island! We don’t come to Kauai for the food, but this meal was truly lovely by any standard and exceptional by Kauai standards. Kudos to the chef! We look forward to returning again and again.
Our dining experience was exceptional!
Chris took great care of us. He was attentive, cheerful and knowledgeable about the menu and wine. All entrees and appetizers were delicious.
The food and service was Awesome!
The food and service was so good we are going back before we leave the island!!! Amazing
The service was outstanding, the food was amazing and couldn't ask for anything more for our 10th year anniversary. It was exactly what we needed to celebrate our decade of marriage. We will be returning asap. Compliments to the Chef.
Excellent service and fabulous food! Fine dining in a contemporary Hawaiian setting.
Noah was an awesome attendant for our table! Look forward to visiting again
I think this is the best food for fine dining South Kauai. The food was excetionally favorful and had a great presentation. I highly recommed this place.
The food was not very good period. The seating is indoors. Much better going to a restaurant with an Ocean View ~ I recommend the Timbers Resort Hualani Restaurant for food, atmosphere, view or TidePools at the Hyatt.
Simply amazing! From the martinis made perfectly the way we like them to the fresh pretzel bread served with soft butter and red salt. The appetizers we tried were the scallops and the shrimp coconut curry. We could have made the scallops and a salad an entire meal. But we didn’t- we had the filet and the ahi. Both melt in your mouth. We are sure that everything else on the menu was equally good. They brought a complimentary dessert for my husband’s birthday - cheesecake 😀. And although we are sure that all the servers are fabulous, we have to give a shout-out to Mayan who made the evening perfect and even stayed late - as we were the last table to leave. Don’t be fooled because it is in a hotel. This is a must do on Kauai!
Always an enjoyable date
Some of the best and most imaginative food on the island.
Came here for a fancy meal while on our honeymoon and our mouths are still watering from how delicious everything was. Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service.
We have been so happy Red Salt has remained open and have gone as many times as we can through the pandemic. It was my husband’s birthday and we were so excited that the full menu was reopened. We had a LOVELY evening and will be back again.
I love Red Salt. By far the best “fine dining “ experience on the south shore. Very consistent, and that’s not easy to accomplish. Yes, it’s expensive. Everything in Hawaii is expensive. Wonderful place. I have been lucky enough to have had dinner there over 50 times. No, i don’t work there, nor am I related in any way.
The charred octopus was ecellent. Butterfish was excellent. Mahi mahi was bland. The Banana Lumpia dessert was underwhelming. I loved the pretzel bread and red salt... it was a fun touch.
Best meal we experienced on the island so far. The food was fantastic and the service superior. The sea scallops were superb! The mango margarita was enjoyable as well. Merrimans was our standby but we were sorely disappointed with Merrimans this trip. Highly recommend red salt!
And absolutely fabulous meal, and superb service.
Anniversary dinner was very good but my $50 lamb chop meal was undercooked snd only 3 for that dollar amount ?
Great service and ambience though
Our waitperson was very atentive, personable, and professional. But service was slow -- long waits between courses. Not sure if this is a kitchen problem or something else. The food was spectacular.
Fabulous dining experience! Excellent service! Outstanding food! Highly recommend!!
Excellent cocktails! Lovely view. Beautiful presentation of food. I’d go again.
This used to be one of our favorites. But this was a terrible experience. Prices were ridiculous. Food was not good. Won’t go again. Unfortunately.
Fantastic.. great service! Thanks, Noah!
I liked the ambience very much. The service was way too slow, though. We waited at least 30 minutes between services.
Honeymoon vacation. The lobster gnocchi dish was HEAVENLY
Best bar on Kauai. Great food. Quiet classy ambience. Never disappoints.
The food choices were excellent, service was professional and friendly. A few more people to bump the atmosphere will be very welcome. Thanks Covid.
Food was good but not outstanding, ambiance a little dull, service was great but a little pricier than it deserved to be.
Everything was delicious, the appetizer, the drinks and my entree, but my husbands entree was terrible. The view is alright but the service was great. Probably wouldn’t be at the top of my list when we go back to Kauai.
Always great seafood & beef. Very good MaiTai drinks & beautiful location.
Wonderful ambience & service in a relaxed setting. Small menu but each dish well prepared. Loved it!
Drinks, salads and appetizers were excellent. Herb crusted lamb not tasty at all and the "chicken breasts" were an "airline cut" leg and thigh. Meals not great and wish there was a different bread other than pretzle bread to go with the delicious whipped butter and alaea "red" salt.
Amazing food with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff
We had a poor experience at this restaurant. We ordered sashimi for appetizers and it wasn’t fresh at all.
Main courses were ok and dessert was awful.
Service was really good but our overall dinning experience wasn’t. Would not recommend.
We always like Red Salt. It's my favorite restaurant on Kauai and we ran into long-time friends. The drinks are strong and tasty, the food excellent, especially the fish. The ambience is perfect and the service is just what you'd want - there when you need them and not there when you don't. Although the menu is limited right now (February 2021) there's still a lot to choose from. I miss the lamb chops...
