Red Sage Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Spacious, well-designed entry and lobby open to grand bar and uncrowded dining area. Tom was right there with wine suggestions and menu tips. The chef stopped by and spent minutes answering our foodie questions. We six lingered two or three hours over the succulent dishes and conversation. Altogether an excellent facility for a great evening out.
Food was excellent. Excellent service. Perfect New Year’s Eve venue. Every dish was a work of art. Excellent wine list and cocktails. Great desserts. They were out of my favorite dessert so I tried the chocolate cake which was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly. Scallop appetizer was fresh and delicious. This restaurant did not disappoint.
My parents, husband and I went there for Christmas Day dinner. The food was the best it ever has been there and the service was great. I used to be a Hotel General manager so the first two things I notice is the cleanliness and the friendliness. The only person that turned me off was the hostess who was wearing a white skirt (I believe) suit. She made it a point to tell me that their special menu was already in the menu book when I was looking at their small flyer that they had at the hostess stand but then it wasn't in mine. Had she not wanted to control everything then I wouldn't of had to bother our waiter to go get one for me. When we got to our table my mothers butter knife had dried food on it.
The food was above and beyond spectacular and delicious. The staff was very friendly and paid attention to our every need. The managers and the chef all made it a point to come by the table to wish us a happy anniversary and a happy birthday to my husband. Our desserts were absolutely delicious and were complimentary. We liked our experience so much, that we returned for dinner the following night and had the same great experience.
Overall, great experience. Food was good but portions in relation to the price should be considered. More portions would make for a more full-filling experience. Left still hungry after $100+. Also, the menu could have more choices. Just some hopeful suggestions. But, food was good and experience was good.
Started with the braised crispy pork belly. FANTASTIC! But, the food quickly went downhill from there. The Bison steaks were not even seasoned properly. Skipped the deserts and went out for cupcakes.
This meal showed such promise and potential excitement at the beginning. When the sub-par entrees came the whole experience went flat. A the conclusion of the meal the waitress offered the obligatory: "How was everything?" When we explained our dissatisfaction we got the "To Bad. . .So sad"/non-committal response.
We are now the wiser.
As always, the food was excellent and the service superb. This was the Wine and Chili Fiesta dinner. Last year it was a single night and a community table which we enjoyed immensely. We met some wonderful people and had a great time. This year the Fiesta was spread over several nights and there was no community table. That was a disappointment. It lacked the excitement that existed last year.
This restaurant is in the hotel and is the main upscale that they have.
We were their for the Motel and Casino anniversary party.
We ordered sparking wine. It came hot or room temperature. We were asked if we would like it cold. It took a good 20min. to cool it off to be able to drink.
Food was nice. A regular sized steak I had with luke warm mashed potato's.
Price was high for the quality.
We were at the Hilton facility as my Husband played golf that day, and decided to have dinner and play at the casino for awhile. We both had the lobster dinner which was excellent. The lobster was 8 oz and was cooked to perfection, with risotto and vegetables. The service was great, and the dining room looked out to the pool and courtyard. Highly recommend this meal for the money.
Fantastic! My husband and I were in town on vacation. The upscale appearance of the restaurant and bar were very inviting. The food and drinks were delicious, the service was delightful, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the bison tenderloin and lobster tail. I loved the pasta carbonara. Our server, Jose, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. If we're ever in Santa Fe again, we'll be back to the Red Sage!
This was one of the BEST meals in Santa Fe in ages. The quail was fantastic but spicy, perhaps too spicy for tourists. The Wedge salad was thew best my friend has ever had & I tasted it. It was excellent. BUT the lamb was perfect. It was cooked to perfection (as we ordered it) & was tender & tasty. A definite place we will return to.
Red sage looked great looking in from outside, but once inside lacked any ambiance. The bread served was very mediocre and the butter much too hard to spread. The salad was nice with a good dressing. The sea bass was fishy, very very fishy. It must have been old. However, the rack of lamb was excellent. The waitstaff were very attentive and pleasant. The wine was good. The restaurant is not inexpensive. Don't mind price, but for some of the above reasons, I would not come back to the Red Sage.
We once again had a great ribeye cooked to perfection. They're so large we always split one with a side of mushrooms. I started with their beet salad and my husband had the Caesar. Always good too. Love their breads too. Service was just right and got us out for our concert too.
