The food is good but overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. Service was slow. waited a long time for mediocre dessert but waiter did comp it. White wine not chilled properly so had to wait 15 minutes until properly chilled in ice. Overall, ok but not great and certainly not fine dining. Given the high prices we expected better.
Awesome atmosphere, and service.
Very tasty food! But very expensive! You must be willing to splurge and indulge to enjoy!
Food and service for Valentines special dinner were great
Our Valentine's dinner was very nice. We enjoyed everything about it.
The Valentines day menu had plenty of choices, reasonable prices and was easy to understand. The service was top notch. Had a very nice evening !
Jose G. is an excellent waiter. We always look forward to seeing him at the Red Sage. The food was fantastic, as usual.
New menu which was flavorful! They need to work out the new menu kinks. Took over an hour to get our salads.
My husband and I ate dinner here for his birthday. Service was incredible (Efrain was our server), food was delicious and we had a great time.
Great way to celebrate long weekend! We both started with the mixed green salad and then ribeye steak. All perfectly prepared. We really enjoyed the sides: sautéed spinach and baked potatoes as well. Pleasant efficient service throughout. The pecan tart for dessert was a good ending. We always enjoy Red Sage and this was no exception.
We went to celebrate our anniversary but was very disappointed in our food. Service was good, but wife's dinner had to be sent back to kitchen and redone. She ordered a medium filet and it was served well done. Sent back steak and mashed potatoes to be recooked. All food was served cold in beginning. Restaurant was not at all crowded so had a difficult time understanding why food was not cooked correctly or served hot. Also would have thought that Manager would have taken a few dollars off bill for disappointing meal but didn't. May not celebrate any special occasions there again...…….tooooooo expensive for quality of food served. Told friends of our experience and they had same experience. New management and higher prices but less quality!
Exceptional food, close to home, outstanding service! Relaxing environment, great wine selection.
Very nice restaurant at the Buffalo Thunder Resort. Nice ambiance, great service. Pricey, but not unreasonable. Food was uniformly great. Will come back!
It was our anniversary and I was surprised they did not acknowledge! Also the menu is very limited.
Food good Hostess could smile. Service good. Menu a little limited
Great option for a special day — The food is fabulous and the ambiance was especially good over the holidays
Excellent rib eye and Caesar salad as usual. We also had the Brussels sprouts and mushrooms which were yummy. We had attentive service and a great view of the snow! Nice creme brûlée to finish!
We had a great time my wife and I for our New Year’s dinner .The food was very good and generous portions . It was a bit pricey but over all I thought it was worth it and would go back . The waiter was very nice and
Polite but ask me if my wife and I were going to share a dinner but I told him I think we will just get our own dinner each one of us . The service was fair to good and I think the hostes needs to be a little more accommodating even thou she was nice .
I do recommend this restaurant and will come back .
We have been coming to Red Sage the past three years to celebrate Christmas and my birthday. This year we were extremely disappointed with the menu. In the past they have had their regular menu and there was a wide variety to choose from. This year.. there was a special menu and the four choices were limited and not very pleasing. Besides being expensive, you had to pay extra for a salad. The waitress service was excellent. However, not sure if we will go back again if they continue with a special menu.
We went for Christmas dinner. First encounter with the surly hostess that didn’t even make eye contact or acknowledge our presence made me nervous. The only two things she said to us were, “you’re fine with eating off of ONLY this menu (it was limited & a bit pricey), and “are you all here now?” No smile, no enjoy...she was NOT a great first impression.
Service for the meal was pleasant, but spotty. We had to ask for bread, water refills were difficult to come by, and while our starters were up very quickly, we then waited over 30 minutes for our entrees. I also thought it was odd that they expected us to order dessert at the same time as our meal...who can know if they’ll want dessert before dinner? I might have, but don’t want to be forced to order up front, unless it’s for a soufflé or some other item that requires special prep time.
The food was outstanding- and not just because my expectations had lowered significantly by the time it was served! My boyfriend and I shared a Caesar salad and lobster bisque to start...both really delicious. We both had ordered Surf & Turf entree - short rib was incredibly tender, surprisingly lean and very tasty, scallops were huge, sweet & perfectly cooked and the risotto and asparagus were perfect accompaniments! Our guests equally enjoyed their entrees - Dover Sole & Veal Chop. The cornbread was good too, albeit a bit sweet, but nicely offset by the addition of green Chile to the batter!
Not super pleasant having to enter & exit via the smoky, smelly casino, but truly, the food won me over.
Always great food, service, and ambiance love it each time we pass through and stay
Great food with a local flair and very good service.
Had another good meal here. There was a wedding party in the bar so it was extremely loud this time, too many drunks, Good food & an excellent selection of wines.
Food was good. Just needed to be hot. Not warm. This was Thanksgiving Day at 3:00.
Service, waiter was excellent.
Expensive and dessert was disappointing. Expected more for the money
Was good over all but steak was a little over cooked compared to other restaurants
We had an excellent dinner here the other night. Good service, very good food & an excellent wine list. Definitely worth the trip out here from town.
Rib eye was excessively chewy and fatty so we sent it back. Overall service seemed like a burden and a chore for the servers. Cocktails were mediocre and sent back the first one. Restaurant manager came over to ask about the food and I gave honest feedback. Restaurant issued credit for returned steak and cocktail. Left a 20% tip. Much better places in santa fe with better food, service and value.
It was just okay. A little over priced. Would probably go elsewhere the next time we come out.
Food was delicious!
First time back since the chef and Menu changed. The new menu is boring and the food this evening was awful (despite it costing $200+). Wouldn't go back again or recommend it.
Also, the noise level made it impossible to have a conversation. Several tables of drunk people and a very loud private party all going on at the same time. Awful experience all-in-all!
Food was delicious and ambiance was wonderful, we have always wanted to eat here and finally went and are so glad we did.
Good food. Ambiance was not there. Noise level was annoying and air condition ducts were on full blast.
Won't be going back. To many other choices in Santa Fe.
Why drive all the way to Santa Fe for a great meal when you’re staying at Buffalo Thunder? Don’t let the hostess seat you at a tiny table and your on the way to a great meal. All around relaxing, good service and well presented high quality food. Enjoy.
Took way too long to order. They were out of the meal we chose...so we had to wait again to order. Steak was over cooked and risotto over done a swell. Had to continuously ask for items such as a salt shaker, sweetener, bread etc. Waiter seemed distracted and not thinking ahead for our needs. Never was offered a tea refill. Very disappointed! Way over priced for the type of service we received. Never again.
Not enough servers so service was extremely slow. Food was greasy and like diner style. Noisy and not very attractive setting.
Wonderful ambiance and great food. Our server Thomas was very good and very attentive. The shrimp appetizer was out of this world.
Excellent food, great service, nice views from the tables by the windows. Fish was "melt in your mouth", and really well flavored. It was great!
Attentive service, amazing five star food
This is a steak restaurant and the meat quality is not as expected for the price. Seasonal vegetables were only okay and preparation was nothing special. Sides are a la carte $6 and the bill quickly adds up for an average meal. Drinks were slow and we had to chase down other waitstaff for salt, etc. because our waiter was nowhere to be found. Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes are good.
