After a bad experience with the service at Red Rooster over brunch, the manager called me on my cell inviting me back. She also mentioned I would get a $50 credit. Well, they went above and beyond with the charming sound chef coming out and comping is on multiple appetizers and an entree. Fabulous service. And they still gave me a gift card. Red Rooster really turned lemons into lemonade with me. I will go back as soon as I can!

Food was delicious, but kitchen lost our order and figured it out after 50 minutes when we asked what had happened. To their credit, management took care of our dinner.

Our appetizer salad and main courses were delicious. Our waitress (Jessica) was attentive and charming. We found the atmosphere to be fun and lively, but too loud. The desserts were disappointing. I suggest that your pastry chef try the raisin pastry at Kayser bakery; so much better than the dry cinnamon roll.

My family and I had the best time at Red Rooster Sunday night. The food was unbelievably good and the employees were fun, accommodating and friendly. The band was incredible! We picked up a couple of their cd's so that we could enjoy their music at home. We will definitely be back as soon as possible. :)

Sunday brunch with live music was such fun! The food was delicious. The restaurant was very busy so service was a bit slow but we were having a great time so we didn’t mind.

AMAZING restaurant. One of my new favorites. Such great food, service, and drinks! Perfect for a date night or a special occasion. Don’t forget to go downstairs to the speakeasy! Get the wings and cornbread to start and the Mac n cheese is a must side dish.

I wanted to go here for a long time but it is very hard to get reservations. We were 45 minutes late because it was snowing hard and they were doing construction on the subway so we had to take the subway to 96th a bus to 125th walk about 4 blocks then hop in a cab but it was well worth it. They were very nice & only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Server was excellent, very nice and friendly. Food was outstanding but a little pricey. Will definitely go back for another special occasion

A fun place for dinner with friends ,it was loud and energetic. Staff were all great, friendly and personable. We were all happy with the food. We shared cornbread and an order of deviled eggs. Loved the use of pepper jelly in the eggs it offset the mayo really nicely. I had the chicken and waffles. The coating on the chicken was excellent, it was crispy and had lots of flavor of siracha which was a nice spin. The cornbread waffle was very tasty I just wish it was crispier. It is a pet peeve of mine for something crispy to be served with something wet on top like pickled vegetables. I also like the portion size for this dish. It comes under the appetizers but is enough for an entrée if you have a side with it. The ribs were good, kind of vinegar based Asian flavors and they were very meaty and tender. Mashed potatoes were the lumpy kind and good. The wine selection by the glass were not plentiful but were good but thought the pour was a little stingy. Mixed drinks were also small, two sips and done. We did not get dessert because nothing sounded enticing and didn't reflect the southern BBQ theme also the ones that passed by our table were really tiny looking. All in all I would rate Red Rooster as good to very good.

Really enjoyed ourselves. Went here for a late Valentines' Day celebration, and it did not disappoint. Bought a few appetizers to try, and shared the "Obama Ribs" course for 2. The food was cooked wonderfully, and was very delicious and full of flavor. We were really happy overall. The place seems a lot more fun with a group however, as most of the tables are set up for parties of 4 or more, with the tables for 2 being placed between them. Despite this, it wasn't overly noisy on any front, even though we were seated between two parties of 4. My only critique is that the "for two people" menu is quite pricy for the amount of food you get, but I still would pay for the same again because it was just that tasty. I would certainly recommend it.

Food and drinks mediocre at best. They made six of us sit at a table obviously better suited for four. Service was friendly at least.

Been here many tines and def notice a downturn in the quality of the dining experience. I’m a local and hard to keep coming back to places like this, when it’s all hype and overpriced, bland and uninspired food.

I would give the place 5 stars. My wife leaned toward 4, so I gave 4. She is a chef and had light criticisms of the jerk chicken (which I loved - she thought the skin could be crispier) and the Himachi Collar (I also loved, she was non-plussed). The place is really fun - they serve Whole Fried Chicken for 2 with a giant sparkler and that looked really delicious. The cornbread is amazing. After we went, some friends recommended the Shrimp & Grits - we will definitely go back and try that. Highly recommend this place for a fun night out.

A visit to Red Rooster always feels like a special occasion, even when it's only a mid-week lunch date with your spouse. In fact, we decided to have lunch there just to get ourselves out of the winter doldrums. And it worked! The service is so attentive and happy that you simply feel special. The food is, of course, fabulous, under the watchful eye of Marcus Samuelsson. I had the lobster roll - 3 sliders of cold lobster, each with a house-made chip, pickle and a sauce with a hit of heat. OMG. My spouse had the shrimp and grits, a dish we'd had before. The combination of ingredients was spectacular. We shared the donut holes for dessert - 6 of them - yummy. We'll be back to Red Rooster. We always return to our favorites, don't we?

The food is always excellent however, for the first time we had dreadful service. It took about 45 mins to get one drink and around 30 mins to place our order. I appreciate that it was busy but for a drink it seems rather ridiculous.

Overrated restaurant. Great atmosphere, but a fairly disappointing experience in terms of quality of food. My partner and I ordered the Jerk Chicken and it was very oily and poorly seasoned. Light and fairly good sides and appetizers, but I wish I could get my money back as I could not even finish my meal due to the overly sweetened, burnt taste.

When we first arrived we interacted with the cocktail waitress, it wasn’t pleasant, she seemed rude and annoyed and pointed us towards the hostess who was much more inviting and welcoming. We were seated and met with our server who also seem to be annoyed that he had to server us. I proceeded to inform him that this was our first time here and would like some recommendations, felt like I was pulling his teeth and as the night went on he was not attentive as he should have been. I had more interactions with other waiters then I did with my table waiter. As far as the food we ordered wild wild wings which I enjoyed, chicken and waffles and the corn bread( both of which I was not satisfied with). For our main course we ordered the ribeye steak a side of mash potatoes and their Mac and greens.... The ribeye was amazing, seasoned perfectly, it came with a sweet potato purée which was amazing as well. The side order of the mash potatoes was sub par at best but the Mac and greens might have been one of the best that I haven eaten to date. To summarize the consistency of the food wasn’t what I expected and the amount of money we spent with cocktails included reach over 220 dollars, that wouldn’t have been a problem if the entire experience was enjoyable. I wouldn’t return to this restaurant but would try another from Marcus.

The service was a bit slow but overall the server was very nice, informative, honest, and funny. We were treated special bc of the occasion. The food was tasty but the yard bird was nothing amazing. Very hard to chew. The mash potatoes were blah. We enjoyed the crab cakes, lobster roll, and deviled eggs. The red sangria was delicious. Will try again...switch up our menu choices

The chicken and waffles appetizer was AMAZING and could easily be a small entreé. So delicious. And of course the cornbread. My husband and I got 2 entreés and a side so we could share & taste different dishes. We ordered the ribs, ribeye, and a side mac and greens. I could eat the ribs and Mac & greens for daaays. Like our stomachs hurt, but we kept eating.

The big disappointment was the ribeye steak. It's the big ticket item on the menu so we were both excited to try it. It was cooked fine (medium rare) but the steak was underseasoned (by a LOT) and the sweet potato purée served under it was too overpowering (too much...was it cinnamon? Not sure but yikes, bad mix of flavors.) The over powering sweetness & spices of the pureé mixed with the plain/bland piece of meat (like not even salted) just flopped. The cocktails we ordered were delicious too and service was terrific. The lovely ambiance is one of my favorites in our 'hood....Which makes the disappointing steak such a tragedy.

Great food and service but seating was very crowded, went as a 2 top for Valentine's day dinner and we were squished in between two 5 tops with barely any elbow room or room to get out. Not the most romantic seating leaving us a little disappointed.
