Went for my son's birthday dinner. The staff could not be nicer and the ambiance was great. We ordered the farm salad, deviled eggs, wings and cornbread for appetizers, all were excellent. The waiter brought a hot wet towel after the wings to clean our hands which was a nice touch. We had the salmon, short ribs with prawns and steak for our entrees. All were excellent. My son and husband did not care for the prawns but that was just their personal preference, there was nothing wrong with the quality or preparation. Prawns are not shrimp but similar, the texture is softer. The only misstep was the dessert. We had the sweet potato donut holes which were good but did not seem made to order. We also had the deconstructed apple pie which was inedible. It comes with a cheese puff pastry crust which was not fresh, it did not have the flaky layers that puff pastry should have. It also came with a very sour and syrupy sorbet. They need to up their dessert game, I think there were only four choices. Also if you go ask for a banquette seat, the chairs are very uncomfortable. Overall I would recommend, we had a fun night.
We were in the neighborhood for a concert and Red Rooster did not disappoint. Food was tasty. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. Salmon and both chicken dishes were good.
2nd time....still very impressive. We love the food, we love the vibe and we love the music. Thank you Red Rooster!
Wow! Absolutely delicious...every bite was flavor full. I ordered the Obama Short rib....it melted in my mouth. My husband enjoyed the Yard bird...so juicy and tender....the collard greens was seasoned perfectly. The mac and greens was amazing cheezy deliciousness. Would definitely return again and recommend to friends.
Excelente servicio muy buen ambiente y comida "confort" superior
No wait to be seated, great food and good service.
I had such high hopes for this place but left disappointed. It has all the ambiance of a TGIFridays.
I was expecting a more luxe like setting (apparently thats the jazz club downstairs). I wish we had eaten down there. There was nothing special about the food, though there was nothing wrong with it either.
Desserts were the biggest disappointment. They actually pay a pastry chef to develop the dessert list?
Only 4 offerings. An under poached pear (it should have been served with a knife because a fork and spoon had a difficult time at it) with not a hint of the claimed rosemary to be found and the goat cheesecake stuffing was all wrong texturally. The pastry on the apple pie wasn't crisp. And the chocolate offering is so forgettable I can't even remember what they called it. One can only ask "is Sylvia's still in business?"
We did an Apollo tour with Billy Mitchell (highly recommended) then ventured to Red Rooster for lunch. We had 4 adults. The table seating reminded me of some spots at Smith & Wollensky’s. A little tight but had a certain flair to it. The service was impeccable, and the food extraordinary. Happy hour started at 3 pm so we moved to the bar area for a beverage to end our experience. Everyone was so friendly and we just can’t wait to go back! Thank you Red Rooster for making our special day that more memorable.
Food was as amazing as the service!!
Food becoming more simply fair fare.
My standard for the food was high, it went beyond that. We had one fried chicken each, the meatballs and the rum punch. Everything was exceptional, the chicken was juicy but well-cooked, the skin was crispy and tasty. The meatballs were exquisite and the corn bread was that soft that you could sleep on it. The service was kind throughout and quick (4/5 because there was a miscalculation in the bill with the rum punch but can happen to anyone). Try the rum punch if you like sweet drinks!
Loud. Great service. But food is as just ok. 3x here. And just not that good.
The vibe of the place is energizing. Food fabulous . What else do you want? Perfect !
I found the food to be poor, but the music was good. The service was excellent.
The music was fun but a bit too loud. The food was just OK. We had one drink and shared a bottle of wine $70 per person. Probably won’t return
Had a truly amazing meal and martinis before a show at the Apollo. Our bartender and server were fantastic as was all of the additional wait staff responsible for the table. Food was so enjoyable and well flavored. The big minus is that we made a 615 reso and didn't get seated until 645, which made us rush through the meal, and not be able to finish it. The leftovers we took home that we literally didn't have time to eat since we were sat so late were taken by venue security, so we basically had to throw out almost half of our meal, making the overall value of the experience decreased. Complete bummer for not only the money angle of it, but also that the post birthday breakfast I had planned for those leftovers as a silver lining in the whole situation got taken away too. Not y'alls fault abt the Apollo's policies, but had we been sat on time, the whole situation of a casual bummer could have been avoided.
Welcoming vibe, lots to eat, take away lunch for the next day a bonus, great music. What more do you need?
It would be nice if there was a coat check for patrons who are dining .
I think your The Red Rooster is a nice restaurant but you need to step up the food ambition.
I had the Poppa Eddies Shrimp & Grits. I think it was lacking of taste. The service was realy nice and the mood was great.
We arrived for our reservation early and enjoyed a bottle of cava and cornbread at the bar. The persimmon beet burrata salad was fabulous - unique and tasty - we don’t even like beets. Meatballs were spicy for me but the others loved them. We had the crab cakes and fries, the yardbird chicken and the shrimp & grits. - all delicious. It was a great meal and we will return soon.
The food was delicious and although a member of my party was late, they held the reservation for us.
Took my fiancee for the first time and she can't stop thanking me. Best brunch ever. Miss B's biscuits and gravy was orgasmic.
Red Rooster is so much fun! Great food, great service, ambiance cannot be beat!
Lively, fun restaurant with great food. Lives up to its reputation.
Un posto incantevole! La nostra cena del Thanksgiving è stata semplicemente memorabile: ottimo cibo, servizio impeccabile, atmosfera di festa senza eguali! Esperienza da fare assolutamente per fare un tuffo nella Harlem di oggi!
I would rekomend Red Roster but i was so disapointed that we get a tabel in the bar, I felt that we wasent so importand to the staff because it has just me and me and My 18 year dauter:(
My family had Thanksgiving dinner but off the regular menu. Food was outstanding and creative.
We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Red Rooster. Seated exactly on time, service was fast and attentive and the food was absolutely excellent. I can see why it's still wall-to-wall packed with diners, even almost ten years after opening. Highly recommend.
The food and drinks were very yummy! The service outstanding! I want to go back!
Amazing food; thought provoking and beautiful atmosphere, lovely staff. Excellent all around!
Everything at the restaurant was perfect, and the value was exceptional for Thanksgiving.
The service and food is AWESOME I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends
Really loud. Great service and friendly staff.
My food came and while it was delicious , it was cold, and it was missing the collards, which my dish was supposed to have. They came later , when I was finished. This was Thanksgiving. While everything else was good, this sort of ruined my holiday meal. I did not want to have everyone wait for me so just ate it while wishing it was even luke warm. They should have it better organized, in spite of the packed house and frenetic holiday.
We went for Thanksgiving. The food was terrific and the place was really packed. Of course, this meant the noise level was a bit too high for us. But The Red Rooster is always a happy experience, regardless. We’ll be back soon.
We were there for Thanksgiving lunch and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. Thank you
Thanksgiving menu was excellent!
It was amazing, the food finger licking, everything that the waitress recommended was quite tasty, very flavorful, and unexpected, overall well worth the wait.
This meal exceeded our expectation.
Have eaten here many times- always good, sometimes great- this experience was outstanding
iconic. great apps, best fried chicken north of Georgia. staff works tight quarters well. interesting craft cocktails.
Amazing food, service and live music!!! And of course, Dany’s incredible art!!!
