Wonderful meal from start to finish. Service was impeccable.
Went there for a special lunch
First time going to this place after hearing about the amazing food and atmosphere! Definitely won't be my last time:)
After a bad experience with the service at Red Rooster over brunch, the manager called me on my cell inviting me back. She also mentioned I would get a $50 credit. Well, they went above and beyond with the charming sound chef coming out and comping is on multiple appetizers and an entree. Fabulous service. And they still gave me a gift card. Red Rooster really turned lemons into lemonade with me. I will go back as soon as I can!
Just a "Cool" place. I'm not very cool, but I felt cool in the Red Rooster!! And the food was delicious. An great and interesting mix of classic American favorites prepared in a Soulful style that is just delicious. The atmosphere, the food, the people, were all just outstanding!!
Superb food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Overall excellent service and great ambiance.
Staff attentive and polite.
Cater to your every need.
Even bought a cookbook.
Prices a bit high but food good
Would come back again
Food was delicious, but kitchen lost our order and figured it out after 50 minutes when we asked what had happened. To their credit, management took care of our dinner.
Our appetizer salad and main courses were delicious. Our waitress (Jessica) was attentive and charming. We found the atmosphere to be fun and lively, but too loud. The desserts were disappointing. I suggest that your pastry chef try the raisin pastry at Kayser bakery; so much better than the dry cinnamon roll.
We had a really good experience at RR. The food was nicely prepared and presented, came out within acceptable amount of time, despite the place being packed (lunch). Dining partner had the shrimp and grits; I had the veg option (charred veg on risotto), both dishes creative and tasty, appropriate combos of ingredients. Reservation was made in advance and table was ready on time, seated in a good spot. The service was efficient and water glasses were refilled frequently. Prices were reasonable. We plan to return!
My family and I had the best time at Red Rooster Sunday night. The food was unbelievably good and the employees were fun, accommodating and friendly. The band was incredible! We picked up a couple of their cd's so that we could enjoy their music at home. We will definitely be back as soon as possible. :)
Very noisy but the food is great. Nice atmosphere and nice place
Sunday brunch with live music was such fun! The food was delicious. The restaurant was very busy so service was a bit slow but we were having a great time so we didn’t mind.
AMAZING restaurant. One of my new favorites. Such great food, service, and drinks! Perfect for a date night or a special occasion. Don’t forget to go downstairs to the speakeasy! Get the wings and cornbread to start and the Mac n cheese is a must side dish.
I wanted to go here for a long time but it is very hard to get reservations. We were 45 minutes late because it was snowing hard and they were doing construction on the subway so we had to take the subway to 96th a bus to 125th walk about 4 blocks then hop in a cab but it was well worth it. They were very nice & only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Server was excellent, very nice and friendly. Food was outstanding but a little pricey. Will definitely go back for another special occasion
The chicken 'n waffles and the mac & cheese with collard greens were great! We will definitely go back again.
A fun place for dinner with friends ,it was loud and energetic. Staff were all great, friendly and personable. We were all happy with the food. We shared cornbread and an order of deviled eggs. Loved the use of pepper jelly in the eggs it offset the mayo really nicely. I had the chicken and waffles. The coating on the chicken was excellent, it was crispy and had lots of flavor of siracha which was a nice spin. The cornbread waffle was very tasty I just wish it was crispier. It is a pet peeve of mine for something crispy to be served with something wet on top like pickled vegetables. I also like the portion size for this dish. It comes under the appetizers but is enough for an entrée if you have a side with it. The ribs were good, kind of vinegar based Asian flavors and they were very meaty and tender. Mashed potatoes were the lumpy kind and good. The wine selection by the glass were not plentiful but were good but thought the pour was a little stingy. Mixed drinks were also small, two sips and done. We did not get dessert because nothing sounded enticing and didn't reflect the southern BBQ theme also the ones that passed by our table were really tiny looking. All in all I would rate Red Rooster as good to very good.
Really enjoyed ourselves. Went here for a late Valentines' Day celebration, and it did not disappoint. Bought a few appetizers to try, and shared the "Obama Ribs" course for 2. The food was cooked wonderfully, and was very delicious and full of flavor. We were really happy overall. The place seems a lot more fun with a group however, as most of the tables are set up for parties of 4 or more, with the tables for 2 being placed between them. Despite this, it wasn't overly noisy on any front, even though we were seated between two parties of 4. My only critique is that the "for two people" menu is quite pricy for the amount of food you get, but I still would pay for the same again because it was just that tasty. I would certainly recommend it.
Excellent food and awesome service!
Food and drinks mediocre at best. They made six of us sit at a table obviously better suited for four. Service was friendly at least.
Been here many tines and def notice a downturn in the quality of the dining experience. I’m a local and hard to keep coming back to places like this, when it’s all hype and overpriced, bland and uninspired food.
Good good but a little bit too heavy
Loved the energy from the DJ, the food, the wait staff and eclectic ambiance /artwork. Large portions of delightful food. LOVED the cornbread for sure. I did not want to leave to go back to Orlando!
I would give the place 5 stars. My wife leaned toward 4, so I gave 4. She is a chef and had light criticisms of the jerk chicken (which I loved - she thought the skin could be crispier) and the Himachi Collar (I also loved, she was non-plussed). The place is really fun - they serve Whole Fried Chicken for 2 with a giant sparkler and that looked really delicious. The cornbread is amazing. After we went, some friends recommended the Shrimp & Grits - we will definitely go back and try that. Highly recommend this place for a fun night out.
After eight years, Red Rooster Harlem is still a culinary experience that will mesmerize your taste buds. The ambiance is laid back with low music in the background which is perfect for conversations. Dane and Darius made my dining experience delightful with their attentive service and it made us feel so welcomed. We will definitely add Red Rooster Harlem to our monthly rotation of dining options. The Rooster Punch was a fantastic drink option with the Hot Honey Yardbird which is my favorite thing on the menu besides the red velvet waffles with chicken and deviled eggs appetizers.
Red Rooster Harlem is one of the best places to enjoy a great meal with friends or family.
I really enjoyed the food and will definitely return!
Service was great. Loved the ambiance. Red velvet waffle was best waffle I’ve ever had. Chicken was great and Mac and greens - delicious! Went down to Ginny’s Supper Club for a bit after. Will definitely return.
A visit to Red Rooster always feels like a special occasion, even when it's only a mid-week lunch date with your spouse. In fact, we decided to have lunch there just to get ourselves out of the winter doldrums. And it worked! The service is so attentive and happy that you simply feel special. The food is, of course, fabulous, under the watchful eye of Marcus Samuelsson. I had the lobster roll - 3 sliders of cold lobster, each with a house-made chip, pickle and a sauce with a hit of heat. OMG. My spouse had the shrimp and grits, a dish we'd had before. The combination of ingredients was spectacular. We shared the donut holes for dessert - 6 of them - yummy. We'll be back to Red Rooster. We always return to our favorites, don't we?
The food is always excellent however, for the first time we had dreadful service. It took about 45 mins to get one drink and around 30 mins to place our order. I appreciate that it was busy but for a drink it seems rather ridiculous.
Overrated restaurant. Great atmosphere, but a fairly disappointing experience in terms of quality of food. My partner and I ordered the Jerk Chicken and it was very oily and poorly seasoned. Light and fairly good sides and appetizers, but I wish I could get my money back as I could not even finish my meal due to the overly sweetened, burnt taste.
