I came for the restaurant week lunch special. Service was great, the food was excellent and I enjoyed my time. I had the deviled eggs, hot honey yard bird, and doughnut. The value was amazing for the deal they had, however I don’t know if I would have rated it that high on value on a normal day. For my financial situation, looking at the rest of the menu, it seemed like it would be a bit expensive. Just something to consider, but food and service is on point.

While tasty, the food is too heavy and overpriced. The fried chicken and deviled eggs were quite good. Too much sauce and gravy overall.

We went for restaurant week but did not order from that menu. We really wanted the shrimp and grits and it was everything we expected and more. Definitely going back.

We had lunch during NYC Restaurant Week. The Hot Honey Yardbird entree was outstanding. My wife got the Juneteenth Noodle Soup which was wonderful too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Decor of the restaurant is great. Each time we go, they seem to have upgraded some element of the experience

Love everything about it from the Hey Chef signature drink to the Grand Finale on Monday nights, the music. In between the food is stellar and the hostesses, bartenders and servers are sensational. Where else are.you going to.have the best time of your life?

Easily one of the best in Harlem. Great vibe, food, and drink menu. The burger was a little overcooked this last go-round, but I'll be back.

We were disappointed overall. Our waiter was not as attentive as expected based on the price I was paying for breakfast/brunch. There was also a mixup on our order but I believe that that was on the kitchen.

A must-go-to restaurant. Very enjoyable atmosphere and top-notch food. Everything we had was exceptional - chicken, shrimp and grits, cornbread, collard greens.

The lamb that I ordered was dry, tough and stringy. That unfortunate fact notwithstanding, the atmosphere was fun / nice.

I love the decor. I loved the cornbreas and butter. The chicken wings were the best. The friend chicken was fried really hard...not sure it its that hard cruchy on purpose. Still love the waiters and music so attentive and really nice dining experience. Maokes you want to stay for hours.

I wasn’t impressed with the appetizers but my entree of shrimp and grits were really good. I would come back for brunch because that rum punch was the best Ive ever had

it is very loud, so a conversation is difficult. last time I went it was a little later, so it was a less touristy crowd. I also sat upfront in the bar area and there was a band. this time I was in the restaurant area in the back and the music was very loud, bordering on intrusive. next time I will go a little later and on a different night. but... I will definitely go back!

The food was really good, and our server was great. Felt a bit rushed however as the food came out really fast. Suggest ordering main course after appetizers are served to avoid this. Portions are good sized. Music did make things loud but added to the experience. Enjoyable and will return.

I read Marcus Samuellson’s book Yes, Chef and was so excited to eat there. It was the perfect evening. Great service, great food, and an exceptional band. We had the barbecue chicken platter with waffles, beans, macaroni and cheese, biscuits and we ordered the cornbread. We ordered the platter for 2 for the 3 of us and it gave us lots of leftovers for the next day. Service was very good and the restaurant accommodated us when we were late without a problem. I highly recommend it.

Great from start to finish. Greeted on entry and sat at the bar for a drink whilst waiting for the table to be ready. Great atmosphere with just the right level of buzz and music. Once seated at the table the waitress was wonderful, really helpful and interested in what we’ve been up to. And the food was delicious, not too quick between courses and free corn bread for the table too. Would happily return.

This restaurant has a lot of buzz surrounding it, so it had a high bar to meet. Unfortunately, I think the hype exceeds the quality. I expected more from a top chef. The food is good, but it is not worthy of the hype and hike (if you do not live uptown). There are plenty of good comfort food restaurants in the City that offer very tasty options at a lower price. Check out Jacob's Pickles (also Uptown). The brunch there is top notch and I think outdoes Red Rooster.

First time having dinner at Red Rooster and it was everything I anticipated and more. Loved the food, loved the vibe, loved the service, loved the music. Wish this place was in my neighborhood, I would be there every week. Went to Ginny's below afterward, and had an amazing time there as well.

Extremely attentive service. A beautiful warm atmosphere that puts you at ease with the level of sophistication behind the food. Even though we never did receive our cornbread we were in such a good mood that the missing cornbread didn't put a single stain on our night.

No longer the dining experience as Marcus Samuelson envisioned, or as we expected. Live music in the bar was blasted to all corners of the dining room, making table conversation impossible. Count us out in the future.

Great food and ambience in the heart of Harlem. Service was fast and efficient. I highly recommend the fried yardbird - delicious. Appreciated the host giving us a tour of Ginny’s downstairs jazz club. Very cool and intimate.
