In from San Diego and LOVED this place! Enjoyed amazing music whole we waited for a table and people were so friendly. The food was delicious!! And we still got to enjoy the music from our table. Don’t miss this gem!
Was a little loud but it was live music so it was ok .. didn’t play all night .. off and on which made it more enjoyable
A uniquely New York place: very good food.. from fried chicken to persimmon salad; vibrant ambience; genuinely warm, efficient service; good music; wild art. Who could ask for anything more. Despite being a hot ticket for ten years or so, Marcus Eliason, keeps this place top notch.
Food was good.
Great food and great service. Just a wonderful time this evening.
I've enjoyed this place over the years but feel like it's trading on its name now. Food expensive and so-so, pretty loud, although vibe is hip and diverse and friendly
First time visit! Enjoyed the food. Hope to visit again!
Loved the atmosphere and the food, missed à smile on the staff
Phenomenal food and warm service!
The food was wonderful as usual. The service this last dinner was the star and made my son’s 21st BD celebration special and memorable for both of us! He had a great time and now I’m the cool mom!
It was great service with great food. A really fun atmosphere and the people at the next table were incredibly friendly.
Service at tables in bar area was terrible. Food order was never placed and after asking server 3 times to check on order, manager finally got involved. Food finally came but with incomplete specifics. Fries were cold and sides were obviously sitting around. Burgers were ok but fried chicken was clearly re-fried before serving. Shrimped were tasteless. Manager did compensate party of the meal and offered complimentary desserts and two extra dishes for sampling. Ok experience if you’re touring Harlem. Otherwise don’t bother telling there.
Food was excellent. Wait staff was superb. They acknowledged that it was my birthday evening and treated us accordingly. But there’s no actual dress code at least from 06:30 pm until 08:00 pm. We could have been there pajamas and flip flops. But most dressed accordingly. Still worth it for the food.
The food was excellent the waitstaff could have been more attentive, and the music was too loud, the atmosphere in the decor was lovely, but not conducive to a nice dinner conversation unless you are shouting to compensate for the music level.
The place is packed and fun, the service good and the food more than good. Definitely worth the trip, but don't count on a quiet conversation with your companion -- definitely lively.
It was a very fun evening out. Excellent drinks, food and service. We will be back on our next visit to NYC.
I absolutely love this place! Obama shirt ribs are everything!
Great experience, wowwww atmosphere, live music at its best - stunning evening!
We really enjoyed the new flavors and appreciated the high end service in a casual setting!
Food was filling and delicious! I had the biscuits and gravy.....I could eat that everyday! Will be back next time I’m in NYC.
This place has been on my bucket list for a minute and finding myself in NY for my birthday, there wasn't any other place I wanted to have dinner. This place exceeded my expectations. The food, the service, the ambiance made for an incredible birthday.
Much much too noisy !!!!The food was ok but overpriced for the quality
Went for my girlfriend’s birthday as it has been on our list for awhile. We had the cornbread, deviled eggs, Mac n greens, seafood Pasta, Obama short rib, and apple pie. Everything was amazing and the portion sizes were huge!
Best fried chicken I've ever had and the wait staff was incredibly kind!
My second time here. I made it a point to come back. The food excellent. The Back porch ribs were delicious. Very tender and tasty. He Jerk chicken and shrimp and grits were also delicious. We had three additional friends join us and they had always wanted to come here. They were not disappointed. They loved it. The staff was very accommodating when I asked to increase the headcount to 5! Will definitely come back again when in NYC.
Great experience, very pleased!
Not too impressed this time.
The lunch menu was limited. The foods was very flavorful! The honey chicken was undercooked. The cornbread was great, so was the jerk chicken.
Absolutely amazing! From being seated to the live music at the bar near the end. My sis and I absolutely loved it. Every time I visit NY, I’ll be at Red Rooster for sure. I want to marry the chef because the food was so so good.
We had ordered a table to 4.30 pm, when we got there we would wait 5 minutes for the table to be ready. We where told to wait in the bar. After 25 minutes I went and asked how it was with our table and then we had been forgotten. Not a good start, but then everything was top level.
It was very good
Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious! Can’t wait to go back! Exceptional!
It was ok, but not as delicious as I expected. It was kind of tight, and no lead way with changing around my order. Portion size was, ok, service was good.
Never disappoints! Such a wonderful restaurant and there was a kids' Halloween party going on downstairs which just made it even more enjoyable
Place had a coll vibe, reservation and seating went smoothly. Had 3 entrees, Chicken was good, small portion. Shrimp and grits were dry and overcooked, crab cakes good but salty. Service was good - a little pricey but of course its NYC.
Visiting New York for vacation
Amazing food and service and a fun old school vibe. Fantastic!
The restaurant was amazing.
This beautiful restaurant never disappoints! The food is spectacular!!
It was a good time. Service was great; drinks amazing. Food was good though food initially came out warm but it was all reconciled. On a Saturday evening with reservations is the best time to dine & head for your next stop though the lower level party is a vibe.
