The food and overall experience was exceptional!
Came in for an early lunch. Was greeted welcoming and professionally. Service was great, I had a wonderful woman named Jack who's positive energy and overall vibe a nice treat to the already wonderful service. Looking forward to enjoying another meal again soon.
The music was very nice, the food was exquisite. The service was excellent. For me, the only thing was that we sat with other people in the same table but I understand it is due to lack of space and a huge demand. The best part is the nice staff and the food :) I will figure out the fennel seed element in the batter of fried chicken:)
We were late for our booking, but the staff made sure that we were comfortable and in a great table. The music was loud, but very spirited and everyone was in a great mood. Chef Samuelsson was at an event next door, but came into the restaurant and made the rounds of the tables and greeted everyone. A very special evening with excellent food and drink.
Truly LOVED the food and the service. Enjoyed the experience so much that two days later, I am currently at Red Rooster enjoying another meal. Best!!!
Food and service was excellent, l. Beautiful restaurant and awesome ambiance. Definitely a must visit while you are in NYC.
I cannot day enough positive things about Red Rooster! The service was impeccable: staff was attentive without being intrusive. The food was outstanding!! Every minute was enjoyable. I will definitely be back!
The food, service and ambiance were great. However,it was too noisy.
Nice place with nice atmosphere. Food good. Would love to come back and visit the bottom floor for a music event some time.
God, service, music, fantastic
Waiter was awful!!! He asked for more tip!!! Never saw this before...
Amazing deviled eggs, yard bird chicken and corn bread. Great ambiance and wonderful service. I’m looking forward to going back. The people at the next table had the Mac n cheese and also the brussel sprouts that they raves about
Was late for my reservation, ended up waiting for good 15 mins while there were empty tables that just needed to be cleaned up. Other than that, everything is great
Our food was outstanding and an innovative take on old classics. High quality ingredients paired with incredible presentation made for an unforgettable experience.
The service was spot on and we were not rushed thru our meal. I’m not from New York but when I return the Red Rooster will be a stop!
It was absolutely amazing! The service was excellent! The food was delicious
Great Restsurant and food but we Field that there is to short time to just sit and the employees has to get trid Of the customer as fast as possible to have New guest and ” dont just sit there and take place , pay your be Bill and get away- feeling”.If you know what I mean.Maybe theres just another restsurant culture Than we are used with
I went at brunch and the chilaquiles was delicious. The cornbread was ok, but didn’t seem freshly baked. Service was sufficient only, nothing extra. We seemed a bit rushed. A bit overpriced.
$33 for shrimp and grits.
I get that I’m going to a celebrity restaurant but that’s crazy.
$7 for a can of Miller High Life
Pretty sure that’s what I pay for a six pack at the bodega.
I guess I paid those prices for the really excellent Arron the walls - which was amazing.
Delicious food, 5 star service and funky ambiance. Great overall experience!
Mom and aunt was in town wanted to give them a taste of Harlem. Drinks were great everyone enjoyed their food except my mom. 😩 but she was thrilled with the whole experience! I will be back as always!
The staff were wonderful - very friendly and attentive, particularly our attendant, Jac. The food is outstanding, particularly the brussel sprouts, which were a universal hit!
The bar has a decent selection and - for brunch - the bloody rooster (Mary) is fantastic.
Take note that like most NYC restaurants, you can’t be seated until everyone in your party has arrived, so be sure to flag this to your party.
Staff was so welcoming. We weren’t rushed. Food was fantastic! Perfect place to catch up with old friends.
I would recommend this restaurant to others
When serving a Tomahawk steak for two it has to come out already cut OR with a carving knife.
The volume is really really loud! Hard to hear the one sitting opposite at a two-person table.
Only suggestion would be to lighten the doughnuts for the banana pudding doughnuts...they were a good flavor but too dense and hard to cut with a fork.
Otherwise the food was very good!!!
I went there the last time I was in town and the food was a little better, but it was still great.
So loud I will never go back and I live in the neighborhood
My ear drums were sore for a day
Could not hear a thing
We are quickly and left
So disappointed as I had been there at least ten times
The salad was amazing and tasted so fresh! It felt like the lettuce came from someone's garden. The chicken was perfect! It was juicy, flavorful and most importantly it was spicy! I was expecting it to have a more of a berbere taste but it was still really good. I am so happy that I got to experience Red Rooster!
I had many good experiences here but this time we had the seafood jambalaya which was mainly lots of rice; unfortunately the seafood platter was discontinued… We should’ve had the chicken which is amazing
Great food and ambiance. Server told us we’d be out in time for our Apollo show but didn’t quite follow through.
And she didn’t seem to care.
All else was good.
excellent attention to detail. food was fantastic. loved shrimp and grits and deviled eggs. staff were very attentive and efficient. the manager was engaging and came to say hi. interesting art work. diverse crowd. great atmosphere. would absolutely recommend.
Our osso bucco was very over cooked, difficult to chew. The donut that came with the banana pudding donut was stale and cold. The musician had a loud and unappealing voice. Then on our way out we were pulled to the side by the groups manager and asked to buy a cd. When we politely declined he rudely said, “well then how about a donation?” My husband who is very kind gave the man $10 but we were hardly thanked and frankly I feel angry that we gave anything to this band who made it difficult to even speak over the lead singers constant loud talking and singing
Visiting NYC for my birthday when we had the good fortune to book a dinner date at Red Rooster. We did expect the excellent suggestions and service. The unexpected, delightful treat of the Sunday night band (we had seen no mention of it on websites we had been checking) was fab! We stayed until the end of the last set!
Succulent and tender chicken whether it be Jerk or Honey baked
Upbeat vibe, not a place for an intimate dinner
Live music on many evenings and afternoons
Mac and greens inventive and creative
Farm remix salad nicely dressed and presentation was very good
Brunch was excellent!! Service was fantastic and food was phenomenal!!!
Our server, Epifania was terrific . . . The food was fantastic . . . The restaurant is wonderful . . . Thanks!
The deviled eggs, the cornbread, the pork chop, the fried chicken, the sides, the drinks...great!
Forget about the RED ROOSTER. We were all looking forward to the dinner. I made the reservation for six at the restaurant a month ahead of time. The full party was there at 7:30 sharp but no table in sight for another thirty minutes. We were then offered a bar table right next to the DJ, or to leave which, frankly, on a Saturday night anywhere in NYC is not an option. As good as the music might be, any talk, forget about conversation, with six people was impossible. At this point, the free snacks were a futile gesture. The fried chicken was OK but I had better birds at Zuni Cafe in San Francisco or Federal Donuts in Philadelphia. The banana donut with ice cream was not warm and as delicious as the one we had at Pinch Chinese the previous evening. Oh well .... what a disappointment
Atmosphere was great, restaurant is very loud, so if you are looking to have a conversation, not the place for you. Food was good, not great, but I guess my expectations were too high. It's good, southern, comfort food. Waited 20 minutes on a reservation we had. Hostess said they would take care of us. Guess that meant they would finally get us seated as there was nothing above and beyond they did for us and we were there 1/2 hour early.
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere friendly and bustling at the bar. The bartender Roxie was very good and extremely friendly. Nice spot to hit for two folks from Philly just in town for the day.
