We went last night and had probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in dining. It was not crowded at all, and we waited 40 minutes for drinks and an hour and 20 for our food. The waitress forgot one of the salads so that was another 10-15 for that. Of course when it came time to pay, all of our checks were messed up even though we had asked for separate checks from the beginning. We had to ask for refills on water the entire meal, went up and got our own drinks from the service bar as we saw them sitting there for several minutes with our waitress nowhere in sight. The manager Sumit came to help a few times but there was never even an apology for what a terrible terrible experience it was. I was surprised at how empty the restaurant was because it was right across from the Duke Energy Center and there was a big event going on that night, but now I know why. It’s too bad- because the food was delicious- but I know not one person in our party of 13 will ever go back or recommend this place. I understand everyone has their bad nights, but like I said, there was no accountability, apology or anything for the mistakes and terrible experience and literally every single person in our party had something wrong with the service or overall meal.
Our group of 13 had reservations through open table at 5pm plenty of time for our 6:30 event! We were seated promptly and greeted by waitress for drinks. Half our group got their drinks while the other half didn’t for 20 minutes, they were sitting on the bar. My nephew approached the bar to pick them up and quickly got pushed away by the staff. We had to ask for water multiple times our waitress seemed to disappear so other crew assisted in getting us what we need. After 1 hour and 20 minutes our food arrived. Half our group got their appetizers right before the meal while the other half got them before their drinks! None of us ordered any difficult, salad, sandwiches, tacos and soup! My salad even though I was one of the first to order was delayed 10 minutes after everyone’s food was delivered because they “were waiting on the chicken”. I had about 5 minutes to eat. Then of course all the bills were a nightmare even though we took our time when ordering to ensure accuracy. The manager comped my salad after I complained but there was no apology for such poor service on what appeared to be a very slow night in the restaurant. The group of 8 people sitting next to us were seated after us, ate and paid before we even got our food.
Very disappointing service when downtown is trying to get more people to visit!
6 of us dined, 4 thought it was “just ok”. Nice staff but had higher expectations based on previous reviews Mx
Went to the Red Roost Tavern for Sunday breakfast. Our party ordered the breakfast bar. It was less than desirable. My daughter ordered off the menu: French toast and bacon and was very pleased. Our waitress was amazing and very friendly.
Excellent food, hospitality was amazing. They knew it was my husbands birthday and had our table specially reserved for us. We just could not understand our server and she couldn’t understand us no big deal. We will be back to try more on the menu!
Three of us ate here Christmas day. The service was good. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food was very good. The fries were seasoned well. My husband had the lobster bisque which he loved. The restaurant was clean with lovely decor. We will definitely be coming back the The Red Roost Tavern again.
The food was not as good and the price was steep. My chicken was raw internally and the kids food was flavorless
We went to the Sunday Brunch prior to the Bengals game. There was the usual brunch choices and they were prepared well. There was nothing there that was elevated however the flavors and presentation was good. Servers seemed overly busy for a relatively small crowd. Bloody Mary was very ordinary. Very few breakfast sweets.
If you are looking for a good brunch, a reasonable price, and convenient to the stadiums, I would not be bashful about recommending RRT.
nothing to really recommend here. A hotel restaurant half way into the lobby. The food was passing, nothing more. The loud overly familiar waitress did her best up-sell attempt but I did not want to spend anymore money there than necessary. But exactly at my expectation for a non- name hotel restaurant.
It was very slow service. We waited 20 minutes just to get our checks! The food wasn’t that great either. Would not go back.
We decided to come to Red Roost Tavern before going to Blink Cincinnati 2019. They took a reservation at the time we wanted and there menu had a variety of items.
From the time we arrived we were pleasantly greeted 4 times and seated at a high top, which was fine with us.
I got a Prosecco and the fish tacos. My son got a burger with the waffle fries. The Prosecco was good. I was surprised they didn’t have a half split, but we were the bar in the Hyatt so everything was priced a little higher. The fish tacos were outstanding. The sauce on them was great.
My son scarfed down his burger - he said it was perfect. He got it without all of the additions on it (sauce etc). He ate about half of the waffle fries - they were a little greasy, but good.
Great service - she could not have been any nicer!!
We ate at the Red Roost on Wednesday night. It wasn’t particularly crowded but our server was seldom around. After bringing drinks and taking our order he disappeared, never checking back until the food came 20 minutes later. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks refilled. The menu is somewhat limited. I ordered the Niçoise salad. The potatoes and green beans were undercooked and the dressing was unremarkable. Rather than the traditional tuna, it came with 3 shrimp and a small fillet of mahi-mahi which were fine. My companion’s club sandwich was fine; he particularly liked the bread. The chicken breast was generous and not dry. Overall the food was acceptable but the service was unenthusiastic.
A very inviting and friendly atmosphere that combines with good food to make it an excellent choice.
The service was absolutely terrible. Do not get the peach salad and be adamant about what you want for your beverage order.
There were very few people eating in the Red Roost Tavern at the time we were there, and there were two or three servers, for the three or four tables that were occupied. We didn't get much attention after our meals were delivered, but we didn't need any, so that was fine. As we were getting toward the end of the meal, the server came to our table with the check. We hadn't discussed dessert, so I asked the server to wait for a minute so we could make decisions about dessert and she walked away. Our decision, was yes, we would get some dessert. But then we couldn't wave grandly enough to attract the server's attention even though she was conversing with the other servers about twenty feet and in easy sight of our table. After waiting about 15 minutes, I took the check to the conversation spot and pointed out that, since some of us needed to be somewhere in a few minutes, we weren't ordering dessert after all.
The service was quite good. The food was excellent with a well-stocked selection even with 15 min to the end of brunch/breakfast. The staff even came over to ask if there was anything they could get us before they put things away at closing time. We really had a good experience and would recommend this location!
I made reservations due to the music festival and other events being in town. I really did not need it due to no one really being in the restaurant at the time.
I did enjoy my meal and the service was great. I have stayed at the Hyatt many times before, this was my first time eating here. I will definitely return again when staying at the Hyatt.
Great Staff, great food will definitely recommend. Stayed at the Hyatt and this is located inside.
This was a pleasant dining experience, with sufficient menu choice, and reasonable prices (given the location).
Good food. It is a typical overpriced Hotel Restaurant. Service was ok, but somewhat slow.
Burger was great. My colleague enjoyed the chicken wings and the chicken sandwich. Get the hand cut fried, you won’t regret it.
Dinner was tasty by a bit pricey. Service was excellent. Go for dinner. The breakfast people lack skills in that they kept giving me a breakfast with peppers and I am allergic. Sent food back twice and finally got no peppers but eggs were cold. I gave up and went to my convention.
Can’t say enough about our experience! Visiting My son that goes to UC we’re from cleveland
We arrived early for our Easter brunch and was greeted by the hostess that was very pleasant had no problem seating us early. Table of 6 Our waiter Kayai was super nice and very accommodating!
We had the Easter Brunch 18.00 buffet. Great omelet station ordered 3 different types of pancakes and French Toasts made fresh and brought to our table .. everyone was saying how good everything was a very good selection for the money.
thank you for a enjoyable Brunch with my family. Would come back again!!
We made reservations but did not need them. However, upon arriving there was no one at the front to greet my husband and I. The bartender seated us and the about 5 minutes that same bartender sat another couple. About 5-10 minutes later a server came out and approached the couple that came in after us. Served them their water and then came to us. The communication should have been better as to who was seated first.
Waited over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us standing at the host station and by the time they wanted to seat us we decided to leave. Would not recommend if you want somewhere with good customer service.
Nice place to go before a show. Its located in the Hyatt, but don't park there as it's expensive. We had a burger, a flatbread and some tacos [hot nashville]; all of it was good and as expected. Service was good and the happy hour specials go to 7 PM. We went earlier [630 PM] and it was quiet.
Great hotel restaurant / bar. Lively without being too loud. Food is good, staff friendly.
This is an undiscovered gem in the downtown area! We did a sampling of small plates from the Happy Hour menu, and each one was fabulous! Huge portions and delicious ... we added a baby kale salad to our small plates, and the balance was perfect!
What a pleasant surprise! My friend and I came here to eat before the Eric Church concert Saturday 2/23. Get the corn cakes! They were SO good! The turkey on the club sandwich was a little thick for my taste, but everything tasted awesome and the atmosphere was very contemporary.
You definitely didn't need a reservation to come here. It was quiet and really tucked away. We booked it mainly due to our experience at Bru Burger the other day making us weary. We got a table straight away, and the food was ok. I loved the Spicy Avocado Burger and would recommend it to anyone, but my friend got the club and was not impressed. The fries lacked seasoning, but overall, it was a decent meal. I think we would just go somewhere else where more of the food was raved about afterward.
We went for a friend's birthday and they really were very attentive. I got the 72-hour short ribs with cabbage and it was delicious. they brought us out of beautiful and very wonderful tasting cake with a candle on it for her birthday. the waitresses that we had was so friendly she made us feel at home
Both diners were vegan. The vegan options were clearly marked but there were not very many of them. One of the entrées was not able to be served because they didn’t have an ingredient for it. The drinks are quite expensive.
Nice night, quick dinner then on to a show.
Good restaurant with interesting choices. I had the Chicken with butternut dumplings and really liked them more and more with each bite. We also tried the corn cakes and they were different, but really good. We went on Christmas Eve to try something different. Pretty inside but no view of the city. Restaurant is located in the Hyatt.
Lovely friendly service that was greatly helpful in assistance. Quality food and good drinks. Worth a visit even if you aren’t staying in the hotel.
As a vegan I was absolutely delighted to find them open on Thanksgiving day with a vegan menu! Try the rattatoulle and you will not be disappointed! Seasonal hummus board was great. Looking forward to returning to try the "Beyond Burger" tacos!
My dad & I visited on a Wednesday evening at 5p & mostly had the place to ourselves. We opted to sit at a table instead of the bar, but we were still welcome to take part in happy hour! We were torn between the House Kettle Chips and the Poutine & asked our server for her opinion - she suggested the former & we took her up on it! The chips came on a huge platter & were covered with buffalo chicken & blue cheese fondue. The buffalo sauce definitely provided the strongest flavor in this dish & a little goes a long way. The chips were great! Thick & crunchy. The chicken was pulled & tender.
We were halfway through this appetizer when our waitress came to let us know that the chef decided to send out an order of the poutine since I'd expressed an interest & in honor of my birthday - on the house! The poutine was huge - a pile of hand-cut fries covered in duck gravy, duck confit & local cheese curds. The gravy tasted as if it had a tomato aspect to it, which I loved! The duck was very tender & the curds were large! This was definitely one of the better poutines I've had anywhere because the gravy had great flavor.
When our waitress came back around, I asked for to-go boxes & to see a dessert menu. She told me that the chef was already putting together a special dessert for my birthday - again, on the house! She brought out a long platter that had four desserts! One scoop of Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip, Deep Fried Bread Pudding, Chocolate Cake & Vanilla Ice Cream. Of course, the Graeter's was perfect. The cake was enrobed in a layer of rich chocolate ganache that I loved! And that bread pudding rocked! It's basically little balls of bread pudding that have been covered in a funnel-cake dough & deep fried. It's served with a delightful bourbon creme friache and an apricot chutney. The outside of these little nuggets had just enough crisp on the outside while the inside remained tender and moist. They also paired very nicely with the awesome vanilla ice cream!
We’re locals and have eaten at all of the highly rated restaurants downtown. Only ate here because we were staying at hotel while work was underway at home. Very surprised by high quality of food and variety. From appetizer to dessert, all very good. Service got a little slow when they got a huge conference group all at once, but considering the small staff, they did well.
We will eat here again for certain.
Food was tasty. Service was friendly, but slow and inattentive.
Nice restaurant and great post the bengals game
Good food and decent service
