Red Room Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Our second visit to Red Room, excellent again!! The food is delicious and the service is great. We were celebrating two birthdays and an anniversary, we had a very nice evening. When we were finished with our meals, we were told to relax and enjoy our wine, we were not rushed.
Many years ago, I and my friends frequented this restaurant on a pretty regular basis and the for some unknown reason, we just stopped. This has now been my second visit in the last month or so and I was delighted with the food and service. I would say some item were a little"pricey" but generally, the prices appeared rather reasonable.
Back on my list.
Food was excellent - service was disappointing - arrived at least seven minutes prior to reservation but we were kept standing in crowded doorway for additional 20 minutes. A party arrived several minutes after us, but was seated immediately by the hostess / owner who spent time sitting and dining with them off and on. Hostess told us several time won't be long to be seated that a couple of tables were leaving and they were paying their bill, however we noticed no attempt was made to process their payment since waiters were busy and hostess was chatting it up with her friends. The food was excellent when it finally arrived, one hour after our reservation time.
Our party of 6 made a reservation and enjoyed a great dinner.
Our entrees were:
Rack of Lamb
and all of us cleaned our plates.
Our server Joe was very attentive as well.
We went off season so I'm guessing it's busier in the summer.
This restaurant keeps getting better
Also it's nice to be personally recognized
This restaurant will do anything to be accommodating
There are so many things I want to eat when I dine
The restaurant also recognizes various holidays and offers menus according ly
Four people dined together. Each of us ordered something different. Every meal was exceptional. We all enjoyed ourselves, the service, and the food, and the prices were so reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to others and plan on going there again soon.
The food was plentiful and delicious. We brought a VERY picky friend with us and she loved everything! It was a busy Sunday night on a holiday weekend and even though the restaurant was full it was relatively quiet. Everything is cooked to order so it takes a while to get your main course but it was a "reasonable" wait. We will absolutely go back.
We went to Red Room on a Friday night in August. It was crowded and a bit loud which is to be expected at the height of the summer season. However, Red Room had a really nice vibe despite the fact that it was hectic and crowded, everyone was having fun and enjoying each others company and their meals. The hostess and servers were really nice and just up front about the wait (which we didn't mind because we had brought our wine and were able to open it and enjoy while we perused the menu) and that they had run out of bread. We were fine with it because they were really sweet and apologetic. The manager/owner came over later in the meal and brought us some bread that they had gotten from somewhere else, but she was very apologetic and wanted us to know that we should come back and try their own homemade bread b/c it was so good. (We will!) The calamari was excellent, great Caesar and speciality salads to start too! We shared everything and we loved the seafood rigatoni dish, the chicken dish and the veal dish were great too! Good portions, great flavors, served nice and hot! All around fun, yummy night with friends at a great price!
Previously Frequented for years and invited many friends. Past weekend 2 people out of 6 ordered the same entree, halibut. One was thick center piece, other person got thin long piece. When indiv complained, the food server got aggressive and nasty. Indiv had eaten the halibut several times before and always had a smaller thick piece served not thin long piece. When attempted to order another entree choice ( lamb chops) was told all out! On a Sat night 7:30 reservation! All out! Indiv had no dinner while rest of party ate. The owner never came to table. Worse customer service ever! Left hungry and frustrated! Will think long and hard to ever go back! Use to love taking people there:( Years of being a loyal customer meant absolutely nothing there when problem occurred!
Excellent food, great service. Overall a memorable experience. It is a local place with higher than local prices, but the food is well worth the premium that you pay. I had the pork chop and my wife had the rack of lamb. The preparation of both were perfect. The sauces were perfect.
The meals were very tasty and well portioned. My only complaint is that the tomato in the caprese salad was a barely pink plum tomato- you would think you should at least get a gorgeous red Jersey tomato , especially in August ... I would never order a caprese salad in the winter b/c you know it's out of season for tomatoes .
We actually liked this place the first time. This, our second time, however, was another story. The service was extremely slow. The food was not good. I had the Veal Parmesan, which was a very thick, chewy and overly breaded cutlet. It was not good. My wife had the Chicken Parmesan. It was inedible and was sent back. Our friends had the same dishes and had similar opinions. We were very disappointed. Sorry, we wanted to like Red Room but did not.
Great place to enjoy a good italian meal at very reasonable prices. The homemade gnocchi was excellent!! We shared several appetizers. Calamari, rice balls and caprese salad. All very tasty and good size portions to share among the 6 of us.
The staff was extremely attentive and helpful with dishes to try
I highly recommend dieing here. Be sure to make a reservation as it gets busy. Mangia mangia!!
The food was bland - veal parm, spaghetti with blush sauce-both sauces very bland. We noted that we were celebrating our friend's 75th birthday but there was no recognition - not even a cupcake with a candle. It was very crowded and VERY noisy. The waiters kept bumping my chair on their way to serve other tables.
