Rod Moskowitz's Crab Cakes
A trio of two ounce fresh lump crab cakes, topped with a dill mustard sauce. Served over a mesculin mix
I wish our server was a little more attentive. It would have been nice to at least have waters at the table while we waited on drinks from the bar and to cleanse our palette throughout our meal. Our table was only visited when our order was taken, food and our drink was served, and to bring the check. We were not visited any times in between to check to see if we needed another drink, and we did, and we sat with empty plates until the check was dropped.
Bartender was great very friendly and professional
I understand the challenges restaurants are facing at this time however it is not what we were accustomed to before the pandemic by a long shot
Celebrated our 12 Wedding Anniversary. Everything was perfect (could have been quieter...) from the ambience, to the service, and the great food.
Sat in the bar watched the Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race and had a great dinner and wine. Nice atmosphere. Nice job with social distancing but making it enjoyable
Welcome back to quality dinning!
Food and service were great as always. Everything was wonderful and felt like we were back to normal.
Cozy venue with a good selection of dishes to choose from. The appetisers were delicious as were the Entrees. Will definitely visit again. Good experience & worth it
Excellent as always. Great service, friendly staff, fast valet, and the food was perfect.
Had to wait 45 minutes for a table, despite our open table reservation but otherwise the food & wine were exceptional & we had a great time. We will be back.
Nice place for upscale without the upscale cost dinner. Our waitress was one of the best we have had in a while. Food was delish and served quickly.
our server was new so my review would be better if he were trained better. It has a nice vibe.
Birthday dinner at Red Rocks. This was our first time since their fire. We had only been one time before the fire and it was ok but not memorable. This time was different. The food was terrific. My husband had the surf and turf special. He said the steak was very tender and tasty. I had a Ceasar salad and the Jambalaya. Both were great. The Jambalaya, in particular, was dish licking good but my Mom brought me up better than that. We saw a lot of kids all of whom seemed to be enjoying their meals so this is probably a place to consider if you want to take your kids to dinner.
I'm always impressed with the menu selections at Red Rocks. Lots of variety. But for every visit I've had here, the girls at the hostess stand are so rude! They don't ever greet us or say "hello". If it was once or twice, I could look past it, but its EVERY TIME we dine here and they are different girls every time. Manager needs to have a chat with his hostess staff about this. On the other hand, our waitress was excellent and so was the food. Portions could have been better. Noise was very loud. Very loud. We couldn't hear each other across the table. Nonetheless, this is a great place to eat and we'll most likely be back.
I had lunch with a friend from Michigan who was driving through NC. We met at 1, the service was attentive but patient, the food was excellent, it was a quiet and pleasant place to catch up with a friend, and we enjoyed our time together very much. Thanks to Red Rocks for preparing the wait staff to serve folks like us who are not in a hurry and need time to talk.
Sat in the back by the bathrooms when the restaurant was nearly empty!
The food was amazing and the service was great obviously a little pricey but for the experience it was worth it and the wife loved it as well
Great service and excellent food. My fiancé and I throughly enjoyed our experience and will be back.
This is a great place for a weekend evening without the children for Valentines the setup was odd. It reminded me of a old middle school dance in the cafeteria with a hard concrete floor and an old space heater. Looks like maybe the kids at the local church during the their Wednesday youth meeting made the ceiling decorations. Although the food was fantastic! The price was at value and the service was on par. The draft beer menu lacked thought especially with the depth of microbrewers in the area. Overall it was a nice evening being in Birkdale but I doubt I will do Valentines here again.
It was great!!!
Good Valentine Dinner
Red Rocks is a mice place for dinner; menu seemed to shrink from the last time we were there, but the food was good; the service was fairly quick. Overall it’s a little pricey for what it is but a nice restaurant.
Vegetarian options were very limited.
Good food, tonight’s service was great. Drinks are a little high for the pours.
Sorry it was not the best experience, both of us had upset stomachs after our meals. We won’t be back for a while.
Love this place!Always Excellent customer service! Manager John Helms is super!
Our meals were excellent. We are new to the area and have just found our favorite restaurant.
Ate there night before and Sunday brunch. Food very good. Somewhat limited brunch menu.
If we lived near by would eat there often.
Have eaten here twice and the food was excellent both times. Staff was always attentive.
Excellent meal! We celebrated our son's 30th birthday. Everyone loved their food.
Great atmosphere and delicious food!
Good night except noise level made it hard to have a conversation across the table
First visit, children were asked their age at time of ordering due to ordering off the kids menu. Would not serve items off kids menu because over the age of 12. This was with 2 adults entrees with a ticket total potential of $80+.. The server was not willing to accommodate (the kids just came from a big breakfast and were joining us for lunch - that is why they ordered smaller portions). Server didn’t get a manager involved and allowed us to leave w/o lunch.
We left the restaurant, charged for our drinks (sweet tea and water) and find another option nearby.
For these reasons, I can not recommend Red Rocks Cafe.
There were six of us in several of them ordered the medallions at $35. This seemed to be a very good dinner. I spent $45 to get the rib steak. The steak had a lot of gristle and was difficult to eat. So instead I ate half of my wife's medallions. When the waiter came and asked me if he should pack up the state to go I told him that I was unable to eat it because it was so full of gristle. He was kind enough to take the plate away and that was all he did. No apologies and no credit. Also I ordered the lettuce wedge and rather than the regular size salad they normally would do they had cut it in half. The other restaurants I've gone to during restaurant week at least gave you reasonable portions. So I will not be going back to red rocks even for friends.
Great service and food! One of my favorite places to eat
Always great and consistent.
Service was wonderful. Wine great. My mashed potatoes were cold but the rest of my meal was very good.
Everything was good from the food to the service. Not much of a wait either
It was a very busy night. And it seems the kitchen team was not prepared to handle it. The dishes came out cold and taste was not as good as usual.
