Red Rocks Cafe - Birkdale Village
Todd Weller's She Crab Soup
Red Rice Risotto
Very busy. Didn’t get our bread. Will return again sometime.
Our waitress was very attentive and professional and the food was good.
However, one of the servers who delivered the food was cursing using inappropriate language without regard for the setting and the customers.
The location of the restaurant is great and the outdoor seating area looked perfect for warm nights, although that’s not where we sat. The waitress was very friendly and kind even though it was very busy. It seemed like a very fun restaurant but we were kind of in the back in a corner so I couldn’t see much of anything. I ordered the blackened grouper which I was very excited about because I love grouper. The fish seemed adequate but not great and definitely not big enough to be worth the price. Honestly, the best thing on the plate was the rice.
Not the same quality of food we’ve come to expect of the years.
Food was awesome as usual .Drinks great!!Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. Can't remember her name .Going back this week!!My only complaint would be ;for the price of long pour wine ,it should be a tad more .Thanks Much.
Food made our stomachs hurt afterwards.
We sat in a side/auxiliary room (to the left as you walk in the main door) that has very little atmosphere, comfortable but nothing great. Our server, Brittney, was very nice and efficient. The food was good enough to come back (fried calamari is tender, albeit a little salty and breading would have been better if lighter. The peppered tuna appetizer was good. The regular menu salmon was dry (we were not asked how we wanted it cooked).
HI Mary, Thank you for dining with us! So glad to hear you enjoyed the apps. With the exception of the Tuna, all of our seafood items are cooked Medium Well but for the Salmon dishes you can always request medium. I am sorry to hear it was not to your liking on your last visit. We hope to see you again soon. Red Rocks
Great meal, as always!
The Cajun Salmon was wonderful!! I will order it again!
Overall a great experience but a little loud so hard to chat over our meal. We will Definitely be back though!
It's been a while since I've been to Red Rocks but it was a convenient place to meet someone for lunch. We ordered 3 appetizers to split. The sizes were decent but too expensive in my opinion. I found the calamari to be tough and the breading to be way too much. You really couldn't tell you were eating calamari at all. The tuna and avocado was decent but needed to be chilled more. The queso spinach dip was pretty good. If I were to order anything again, that would be it. Our server, Logan, was incredible and very attentive. It's just a shame that Red Rocks forces their employees to wear black, long-sleeve button downs on an incredibly hot day because they don't like tattoos on their employees. I don't think I'll return any time soon.
Love Red Rocks! Ron and his team are simply the best in the Charlotte area! Locally owned and truly something for everyone!
Love Red Rocks and Ron and his team! Great service and good consistently every time!!
Great place for lunch. Been going since they opened. Always excellent food and service
Server was great. Food was good, but had to send steak back. One of our favorite locations and we will be back. Thanks.
Very expensive! 2 dinners, 2 drinks...well over $100.
Had a wonderful meal. Service was great. Food was perfect. Enjoyed everything. Look forward to going back
So disappointing- you can dine at most other fine dining places cheaper and get farm to table or better food.
It was overpriced and the prices didn’t merit the food or the restaurant itself. I don’t mind spending 36$ for an entree but to have several sandwiches on the menu and the offer entrees from 22-49$. Is a place who clearly doesn’t have a direction.
The wait staff.never serviced us. We got an appetizer and they tried to take it away when we still had chips in our hands. To top it off we asked if we could have more chips because we had a lot left. We waited , our entree’s came and the wait staff proceeded to take away the appetizer and didn’t even asked if we were finished with it! Clearly there was a lot left nor do we want to take it home.
Never got asked if we needed a drink refill. Someone finally decided to fill the water glasses when we were paying. Oh and never got asked if we wanted dessert or anything else.
Truly you are not a high end establishment .
This was the second time we ate at a red rocks. The first time was in the Indian Land area. It was the same opinion on the food part. No third chance here.
The food and service was great. The only down fall we had was that the place was so noisy that we couldn't carry on a conversation. Not a good place for a date unless you dont plan on having any conversation.
Red Rocks is doing a great job in service and quality during Covid. We have sat both outside and inside and both are very enjoyable.
The Cafe is a beautiful restaurant, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was average and not very memorable. I had the lobster ravioli which had little taste and could have used more seasoning. It was served with shrimp and scallops - also in need of seasoning. I would have appreciated bread. My husband had the buffalo shrimp and a salad which was very good. The shrimp was highly seasoned but good.
Still one of the best in the Huntersville area for food and a great value added dinning experience. Had the ribs which were tender, but not real warm when served but still tasty.
Have been multiple times. Always consistent and always great!
Our party of 4 had different entrees; sesame tuna, grilled salmon with lemon butter, ribeye, and almond grouper. All were excellent, and the service was quick and attentive as well. We also enjoyed our two starters; buffalo shrimp and spinach dip with tortilla chips! I would definitely recommend Red Rocks Birkdale. I have yet to be dissatisfied with any of their food items.
The food hasn’t been up to par for a couple of years now and this last time was no exception - if not slightly worse. Lacking in flavor. However, where the quality and flavor of the food is lacking, the restaurant makes up the deficit with pleasant and helpful wait staff.
The atmosphere is nice and location convenient.
Dinner was very good. I had the blackened salmon, which was delicious.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed both the meal & atmosphere. I ordered the Grouper and it was fabulous! We’ll definitely be returning!
Nice evening sitting outside. Food was delicious. Great bottle of Chardonnay.
The food was great and the service as good as always

Good food....great selection...good drinks....nice place...just a bit pricey.
Pleasantly surprised. The restaurant did a great job of social distancing the patrons. Wait staff and hostesses extremely pleasant. Food as good as ever!
A pleasant meal experience.
We went for Father's Day Dinner and it was fantastic as always. The Buffalo Shrimp were delicious and the Almond Crusted Grouper can't be beat.

Red Rocks Cafe at Birkdale Village always goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and relaxed. We have not been out much in the past few months due to Covid 19, but going to Red Rocks was a good choice.
The host staff greeted us warmly while still adhering to social distancing and PPE guidelines. We were seated immediately. The wait staff was attentive and friendly while observing those same guidelines. They know the menu and offer excellent suggestions.
The food is what brings us back to Red Rocks as it is always incredible. My favorite is the almond-crusted grouper and it was delicious again. Red Rocks is a bit out of the way for us but definitely worth the trip.
Thank you for exceptional service and food. We love Red Rocks!
