The menu on this site is out of date. The food was good, but there were fewer options that are shown on Open Table

1 server so service was slow, felt bad for the guy working. Some people got seated and walked out because it was slow on a very busy afternoon with a show at Key Arena we were attending. Overpriced Pho in a BAR setting. Not all the food was on the menu that we read about in other reviews. Definitely not coming back...sorry...

The food was delicious but they were under staffed and it was hopping before the Stevie Nicks concert. We had a 5:30 reservation and weren't greeted or seated until 6pm. They just wanted us to go away. The employee tried to claim reservations don't come through on their system.

Excellent service and good, Vietnamese food. Portions are medium size, just right for most appetites. Good value for the price. The only downside was that the restaurant got pretty noisy, because it's all hard surfaces with nothing to absorb the sound.

We had a great dinner at Red Papaya and Ale House. They have an excellent beer selection that changes frequently. Wonderful server who was friendly but now obtrusive. We would definitely go back if we lived in the area.

We went to this place prior to my son's graduation at the Key Arena. The service and food was excellent. Priced right. Very short walk to the venue. Will most definitely eat there again.

It was a Saturday night pre-event crowd but wait staff was courteous, professional and we never felt pressured to finish quickly. The salad rolls, pho and green papaya salads are sure bets. Noise level can rise if other patrons talk/laugh really loud but its manageable. Great spot to catch a quick meal/drink before attending an event at or near the Seattle Center.

Red Papaya has reasonably good Vietnamese food which generally doesn't stand out from other Asian restaurants in the neighborhood. They have a beer and wine license, but apparently not a liquor license; there aren't any interesting craft cocktails available. The one thing they do have that's worth noting is that a few of the bun dishes allows diners to substitute cabbage and sprouts for the rice noodles, which provides a low-carb meal that's good for people on the paleo diet. Otherwise, there's nothing bad about the place, but there's nothing particularly memorable, either. It's a nice reasonably-priced restaurant that's convenient for events at Seattle Center, and that and the low-carb dishes are the two things that would bring me back.

Our server was great, we were seated right away. I thought the food was good. Unfortunately, our table of four received our food at three separate times. If you're trying to eat dinner together, that doesn't work and it would have been nice if the server had told us this before we ordered. Rather than wondering where half the food is while letting the other half sit and get cold. It seemed like they were prepared for the rush of the evening, there was a concert that night, but maybe the kitchen wasn't?

Red Papaya was not staffed properly to serve the flood of people who showed up after an event at the Key Arena. We were told that they did not receive our OpenTable reservation and we did not get seated until nearly 45 minutes after our reservation time. I don't blame the employees as they were significantly understaffed.

However, once we were seated, the food was delivered quickly and it was very tasty.

My first visit, I was meeting a friend at the bar, and while there is no "cocktail menu", the bartender made me several concoctions based on my taste and choice of alcohol, and they were all amazing. Which led me to need to order food. Which is how I discovered that the food here is also amazing. Fresh, flavorful, spicy when it's supposed to be, a good selection for carnivores and herbivores alike and good, attentive service. This has become my go-to place for theatre nights -- not too fussy, not too casual, just a very friendly neighborhood restaurant with really good food.

We were looking for a place close enough to walk to the Key Arena as well as enjoy a meal before our concert. We were very pleased to find that in the Red Papaya, the Banh Mi sandwiches are outstanding!

We had a reservation but there were no tables when we got there. Ended up needing to sit in the bar after 25 minutes when it was the only place opening up. They apologized many times and gave us a free round of drinks. Food was good, service was good once we got seated. They simply need to reserve tables when people have reservations. They wouldn't have missed out if we hadn't showed since there were people turned away because of a 45 minute to an hour wait.

The beer list is great, yes, but the server did not answer my son's question clearly and he ended up with sweet, non-alcoholic beer that he didn't want. The Pho' was good, apparently; the ahi noodles included a piece of fish with fat and gristle (or cartilege?). The noodles were not as spectacular as advertised, pretty boring, in fact. The food is presented nicely, and the place has potential. But they need to take more care and spruce up some of the dishes. The location right next to the Key Arena is perfect of you are going to an event there, so they would benefit by making some improvements.

I first came to Red Papaya because it was a convenient place to meet a friend for drinks and what a lucky find! The drinks are fantastic (I usually ask the bar tender to just make me something tasty and he delivers every time) and the food is really great. Good vegetarian options, a nice fusion of pub and Vietnamese, and the food is very high quality and an excellent balance of flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant, it's my new favorite place to eat.

I have been here now 4 different times and every time it's delicious. Good Pho and Bahn Mi - lots of options for low carb, gluten free or vegan. It gets loud when it's busy before a show or event in the area, and that is the only time service has been less than stellar (waitstaff gets overwhelmed). I have brought my 10 year old three times and she loves it and was treated very warmly by staff.

This place really surprised me with fast service. We went right before a large concert at the key arena. The restaurant was absolutely packed. However, they were able to get our drinks to us very quickly and also our food came out quicker than I pictured they would. They did forget a fried egg on my mom's pork chop dish, but once I told them, they brought one out separately very quickly. They have a full bar and their Moscow Mules are very tasty.

Took a chance on Red Papaya because I liked the name. I needed to find a place to eat before the Cher D2K Concert in Seattle. Not knowing anything about the area or the restaurants in Seattle Center I took a shot in the dark. They did not disappoint! We started with the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Shrimp Summer Rolls. I had the Kalbi plate, and my friend had the Ginger Chicken Pho, everything was delicious! They are a small place, so if you want a table without the wait, make a reservation. The bar is well stocked, so you will have a nice selection of drinks. The noise level can get a little loud, but if you show up early like we did, you can get in & out before the real party crowd shows up. I would eat here again next time I'm in Seattle!

I really love the pho with the de-lite noodles, they're made from zucchini, are much lower in carbs and taste delicious. Can't believe they're made from zucchini because the texture is fantastic. Give it a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Eclectic menu of Vietnamese, Thai, etc. Wife didn't like the fried rolls. Unappealing appearance. Spicy chicken dish was very good. Noise level very, very high on a Wednesday night at 7. Had to almost yell to carry on a conversation. A lot of restaurants seem to be like that these days and patrons seem to have a good time, but if you want to have a quiet ambience I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

A fun casual restaurant. Good food and drinks. Our group ordered (tall & short) beers, wine and an assortment of cocktails. The only problem we had is that the space has a cement floor and brick walls which don't absorb sound. The noise was incredible - we could only hear the person next to us. It might be better to go with 2 or 4 people on a busy night. The service was good - especially with a busy and noisy restaurant.

Ate at Red Papaya before a recent concert and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent! The Yam Fries are a must, perfectly cooked and served with a delicious dipping sauce. Egg rolls were really good too. Yellow curry was flavorful, but not too spicy. Nice portions. The only complaint is it was VERY loud. It's a pretty small place and 1 loud table pretty much ruined any dinner conversation we might have had. Don't know if sound echoes off the brick walls or why it's so loud, but it was crazy loud. It gets pretty crowded on event nights, so I recommend making a reservation.
