Food was very good. Service was excellent and went above & beyond, Friendly, warm atmoshere. We will be back.
Visiting Philadelphia for the first time, we found ourselves eating there four separate times.
Good food, friendly service. Took my mom and sister for brunch on mother’s day. The staff was busy but very nice and attentive. Great ambiance too.
It was a nice place for Mother’s Day!
Food was delicious, our server was excellent.
The place was unique.
I was happy to be there a Tuesday because I can’t imagine how busy they would be over the weekend. The salmon was delicious and cooked to my liking. My friends scallops were also very tasty. Drinks were good as well.
I would have preferred the upper dining level but understood that on a Tues everything is limited.
We enjoyed the Red Owl Tavern. The location was perfect, the food delicious, and the atmosphere friendly! Perfect for our mini vacation!
Everything was fabulous! Highly recommend!
It was a Great brunch for every member of my family.
I have been to Red Owl before (just about a month ago) and loved it, which is why I came back and brought friends. However, this time our dinner wasn't as good. They had just changed their menu, so no cornbread or pulled pork sandwich on the menu, both of which I was looking forward to. We informed our waiter that we had a movie to catch but we arrived for a 5:15 reservation and the movie was 7:15 so we thought we were ok. There was some kind of glitch in the kitchen, though, and after our appetizers we were told our food was being held up. They were kind enough to bring a little complimentary cheese plate while we waited. But after about 20 minutes we noticed that everyone else upstairs was getting their cooked food, but we weren't and we were the first ones seated upstairs! We had to ask what was going on, and we finally got our meals about 10 minutes later. All of our burgers were kind of dry. We had no time for dessert and I love their Ice Cream Sandwich! However they were gracious enough to not charge us for the appetizers. And it's for the quality customer service that I might consider going back.
Red Owl is our go to place for lunch and dinner when we are in Old City. The menu while not huge has a nice variety and the food is always well prepared, fresh and tasty. A very nice wine list, good selection of beers on tap. We had the calamari to start - really tender and crispy. Veggie salads with jumbo lump crab - also perfect. Really great atmosphere with the exposed brick, open seating, large windows. Service great too.
Went to the location for lunch. The menu was limited. I had a burger that was average. The fries that came with it were not warm.
Service was not attentive at any point of the meal.
The person with me had the Fritata special which was under seasoned.
Our first meal, dinner, was great! We went in and sat at the bar waiting for the rest of our party. The bartender was personable and knowledgeable about his whiskeys and my husband had a great conversation with him while having good whiskey. When we joined the rest of our party at the table, we got great service and had the best burger I have had in a very long time! The tomato jam is so delicious! The cinnamon apple pie was also wonderful and a great finish to my meal. The next morning we went for breakfast as we were staying at the hotel next door. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The potatoes were a little on the cool side, toast and bacon were burnt and eggs (I asked for over hard, but still!) were cooked almost to rubber. I would highly recommend the dinner menu, but not so much on the breakfast!
Food was good service sucked
Bartender was great. Service was cordial , but food arrived cold....
Katherine and Eric always make things a 5-star experience!
There were 10 of us there celebrating a 40th birthday. Service and food were awesome! Highly recommend!
Charming spot. Went there recently for a small reunion with former coworkers. The staff here were very accommodating with my party running late and having fewer people than we had originally planned. Good food, good drinks, good time!
Brunch was wonderful.
Great meal, convenient location. Pork chop was cooked perfectly.
Our waiter was wonderful!! He really went the extra mile to be sure that we were happy with both our food and drink. Both my companion and I were thoroughly impressed.
Unique menu; great location near historic Philadelphia sights; friendly, helpful service
drinks at the bar were wonderful and yummy, and food was amazing and also the dessert, waiter was very helpful and asked how everything was and did we need anything else.
Excellent food for a pub--way beyond our expectations. Great service. Recommend the upstairs dining area, as the downstairs bar area is a bit noisy. We will return!
It was a good way to spend Mardi Gras.
Excellent brunch — salmon dip, charcuterie and salads all top-notch.
Food was delicious and our server was lovely! Would highly recommend!
Good food, good service. Loud and tables too close together.
Good food. Pricey for what it is ($13 for soup).
Breakfast. Was great
We visited during lunch and ordered the crab roll and Troegs nectar nugget. Bartender was friendly and ambiance is inviting. Great for business meetings.
We had a wonderful time welcoming a new student to our graduate program! Thanks for working with me when I had to change the time and making sure that my visit registered on OpenTable.
My Duck was awsom but the broccoli and mashed potatoes looked and tasted great but we’re cold
We were really looking forward to our date night at Red Owl. A few minutes upon being seated and we were about to place our order, we were told that the two entree items we were anticipating and eager to have were sold out of. Our waitress tried her best to make the situation better by recommending other dishes. The things she recommended were usual things we have tried, we wanted something different for Our Valentines Day Weekend. The waitress tried her best but it’s when you go out and anticipate something and don’t find it, it makes the dinner not worth it.
Great good and staff!! Out first time in Philly and we will definately come back:)
Excellent, fresh, high quality food. Great comfortable restaurant with good service.
Great experience, food was great and liked that I was able to substitute a salad for the fries. Server was very attentive and friendly.
Lunch selection was limited and not very creative. Location is terrific but the facility felt worn down.
Nice farm to table like restaurant with friendly staff.
