Red Lantern – Thunder Valley Casino Resort
Vietnamese Beef Pho is a healthy meal and excellently made at The Red Lantern. In the past the protein in the Pho was solely well done beef brisket. The latest Pho I had included meatballs and less brisket. I suggest to make the meal the most healthy that the meat balls be deleted and more well done beef brisket re-added to the Pho. Thank you.
My third time eating there. Food was delicious. Service was not. Forgot to bring us our soup. It came with the meal. By the time someone came back we were almost done eating and to full. I said something our server and she asked if I wanted it now but I told her I was to full. She bought it out anyway for me and not my friend who didn't get her's either. I told her I didn't want it. No apology, no discount on the bill.
The food is always fabulous. Atmosphere and staff are very pleasant. Whenever we stay at Thunder Valley Casino Resort we eat here.
Food was very good, as usual and the service was very good. Only issue was we received half of our order and then the second half maybe 15 mins later - and it was never recognized by the server. But we will return -still a favorite at TV.
Excellent atmosphere. Pleasant, efficient customer service.
High quality Chinese food is rare in California. That's why my wife and I always go to the Red Lantern before any concert. Food is very nice. Love the chicken wraps. Try main entrance to reduce the amount of 2nd hand smoke.
Our server was great food was amazing great experience.
Cigarette smell was strong but it is an Indian casino so that was to be expected. Not so much in the restaurant. Parking was unexpectedly difficult due to Summer Concert series night (didn't know that when we made reservations).. otherwise it was absolutely delicious and the salt and pepper sea bass is awesome!
First they wanted to seat us right next to the loud bar - we asked for another seat. Ordered two appetizers, wine and an entree. Pot stickers and egg rolls were too thick with dough and not much inside - very tasteless. The walnut shrimp was also not very good. The waitress came back only once after serving us our entree and we had to ask for more water twice. Overall it was a very poor experience and not an inexpensive one.
Very good food, and service was good, however, the place is extremely loud!!!! Hard to hear the people you are sitting next to.
Server was not able to understand us, had to point at everything we wanted on the menu. Portions were very very very small for the price we paid. Would not dine in there again
Great service. Food was incredible. They did an amazing job considering how busy it was before a concert. Really impressive.
Poor service- food dry- expensive-too noisy-tiny tables
Always a pleasure to eat here. Our dinners were excellent. The service was perfect. The best restaurant at thunder valley casino.
Great food and very accommodating based upon our last minute reservation. Love the food!
They accommodated our large party of 17 which was good. The food was ok just a bit higher priced since it’s in the casino.
The food quality is excellent. The restaurant was packed prior to the concert. They need more help staff, on hand, on those occasions!!
Horrible noise and understaffed service. We did undersstand a concert was going on at the same time, but that shouldn't have this much of an effect.
Reservation made for 5:30 pm. Seated at 5:45. Wait person came with 1 menu for two of us twenty five minutes later. Vietnamese sirloin beef was bland. Shrimp and scallops with sugar peas were so so. Yan chow fried rice was decent. Ambiance is ruined by the cigarette smoke wafting in from the casino. It was much more delicious and better service in its former iteration as Coi Palace. Probably will not return.
Forgot our appetizer, and brought out our dishes at different times. Like they forgot until we said something. For the cost of food there, this is unacceptable. We will not be dining there again. Who wants to eat cold food while your waiting for the rest. And who wants your appetizer after you’ve already received two dishes🤬
Excellent cocktails at the bar,, service was great and food very good.
Food was good a little expensive but would definitely go back.
Busy show night. Everything was fine. The only issue was the host stand. Because it was a show night there was a line out the door. Understandable. But it moved very slow. We stood there for 23 mins. I suggest making your reservation for a half hour earlier than you want to sit.
Everyone at the table (6) agreed that we had superb food and excellent service.
The food was great ! The service was even better. The dining experience was great !
We enjoyed our dining experience especially our server who I think is Mae. She was very the best!
We tried Red Lantern last year before a concert and had a bad experience with the waiter. Decided to try again. That's our last time! Our server was good, but the food and how it was presented was terrible! I ordered duck (I understand they have to cook it ahead of time) but it was COLD and was served almost 15 minutes before the second person got their meal. Then 15 minutes later another person was served. He ordered General's Chicken and got Orange Chicken. The waitress disagreed with him and said that's the way GC is prepared. Not! It was Orange Chicken and everyone at the table agreed. Also, even though I had a confirmation email from Open Table, they could not find my reservation when we checked in. What a shame...so convenient to the concerts!
WE loved our meal, I wasn't happy rice was extra. Ended up we never touched ours... Rice should come with an entree. There was a mix up with servers and our table was overlooked. The manager was very kind and even comped our appetizers. I would go back.
This was our first visit to the Red Lantern and we were very impressed. The service & food were excellent! Noise level was a little high, but that is to be expected on a Friday night at a casino.
Great food and service, I didn’t realize the casino was a smoking casino. The smell of smoke “ruined” the dinner we definitely did not stick around for dessert. I would recommend take out unless you are ok with the smell
I would recommend Red Lantern if you are in the Casino or staying at the hotel and looking for a place to eat. It is convenient and the food is good.
We were a group of 6 who came in for dinner prior to attending a concert. Staff was very friendly and we were taken to our table at the appointed time. We enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered, but the one that really stood out to our group was the honey walnut prawns. Cocktails are good and staff is very efficient.
The waitress didn't come and ask we needed anything or how was the food...not as friendly & attentive as the 2 waiter's next to us, which is why we wanted the Steak House but they didn't open early enough for us.
Disappointed with service and ticket times. Food came before drinks. That should not happen at this level of restaurant
Best place to eat at Thunder Valley. Great cocktails and appetizers.
The food was very delicious.
The food portions were very plentiful and delicious. The salt and pepper sea bass was amazing!!! The mango dessert was delicious as well. It was very good
This was our third visit to this restaurant, and the experience continues to exceed expectations. Quality dishes, attentive staff and an attractive ambience is why we keep coming here. Highly recommend.
I made reservations and still had to sit in the bar area. I requested a booth as well. Our drinks took a good while before we got them. Also our entrees were brought out separately. The biggest complaint would be the seating in the bar area.
The food was mediocre at best, and service a bit abrupt.
