We come here semi-regularly for date nights. The food is always very good-- we tend towards apps and sushi, so haven't tried many entrees. Have never ordered something we did not like. Service is usually very good, though can be a tad slow on busy nights. Always seems to be seats at the bar if we decide to go without a reservation, and bartenders are attentive and pleasant. Would recommend!
Ate here before a show. We were pressed for time. Our server was really accommodating with getting our order quickly. Food was excellent drinks were good too! Atmosphere was fun. Would definitely recommend red lantern!
We won a gift card and decided to try this restaurant out. The service was great and the food was delicious. The portions were generous. The only negative comment would be the lighting. Almost everyone including myself had to use the flashlight on our phone to read the menu.
I had a drink at the bar before being seated. The Thai basil gimlet was perfect.I had Mongolian skirt steak and vegetable friend rice fir dinner. They were both delicious. We were seated near the entrance so the noise from the casino was pretty loud but not unexpected.
Fish boat sushi was really good!
It was our first time at Red Lantern and we were not disappointed! Our waitress Sarah was awesome; very knowledgeable and attentive!! The food was delicious and arrived promptly. Would 10/10 go back.
Very good food and service. Looks like we'll worn floors need updating. Very clean and unique bathroom.
Staff was awesome manager was awesome food was awesome the only thing that I would recommend is you need to speak to the staff to get a good description of the food the menu does not do justice to the taste of the food. Anyone going needs to try the dessert with banana my wife and I hate bananas but we fell in love with this dessert it is a local chef invention and can only be found at this restaurant. The only bad thing about this restaurant are the signs to get you to the location does not clearly indicate you need to go up the escalators at the end of the hallway
Food was very fresh and good size, portion wise. Fried rice was enough for 4 people. I also had a Poke bowl which was excellent.
Came here with a family of 4 for my daughters b-day. I made sure to specified it was a birthday dinner. They had plenty of empty tables, but we got a table by the kitchen. My side of the table was slanted and I mentioned to our waitress, but nothing was done about it. It was impossible to put a plate down without it sliding down the table. We got our food and did not have any utensils. We waited for at least 10 minutes to find a random person to bring us utensils while the food was getting cold. My daughter did not like her desert and did not eat it, but no one asked her or checked in with us.
The comfortable seating was a great touch to go with the modern Asian restaurant. The sushi was good, I look forward to going back to try other dishes. The drinks were amazing! We had a lemon ginger martini and a ginger mule. Our server did a great job! It was his first night but knew a lot of information and the few times we asked hard questions but he quickly got an answer for what he didn't know.
Food was excellent.
Our waitress was very informative and accommodating. Manager made rounds of the tables to ensure everything was going well! Very attentive staff! Food was amazing as usual!
Food was disappointing and the drink I had was called bamboo juice and it was way too sweet. The prices are too high for the quality of food you get.
Great martinis and really tasty food. Steak terryaki noodles were very good and the steak was cooked perfectly! Club shrine is right next door so later at night you can listen to the music and a part of the restaurant overlooks the club dancefloor. For birthdays they pull out this dragon thats all lit up and it looks really cool.
Came on a Monday, service was great (thanks, Amanda!) , food and drinks were delicious...$5 Mai Tai and Happy Hour all night.
The signature "The Rock" hot stone appetizer is great presentation, but very overpriced ($29) for 4 thin, small slices each of steak and salmon. Beef lo mein was delicious, fresh and not overly seasoned
Would have given 5 stars but I had asked for a quiet "date" table in my booking. Was seated directly by the sushi line and wok station in an almost entirely empty restaurant. At one point, I couldn't hear my date speaking for the clanging of the pans and utensils.
Overall the food and atmosphere will bring me back.....but maybe the staff should try and accommodate special requests on such a slow night.
It is very difficult to find a restaurant with such an awesome gluten free menu. Waitress was knowledgeable regarding Celiac Disease! Food was delicious!!
Awesome meal! My husband, who has celiac disease, had his first truly enjoyable Asian dinner since he was diagnosed in 2016. Portions were also large. He really enjoyed his Miso soup, claiming it was the best he has ever had, including his pre-GF diagnosis. His stir fried chicken and GF fried rice were also exceptional . As for my meal, not GF, it was also great. The lobster Rangoons were crisp and the filling was the best. My General Tso chicken was also exceptional, chestnut flour is used which made it lighter. The portion was so large, I was unable to finish and it was packed for me in plastic containers so I could take it home. Now for the best, Sarah - our server. She was knowledgeable about Celiac, gave Frank lots of suggestions and answered every question. If she had the slightest doubt, she did not hesitate to take our question to the chef. We both appreciated her service, attention to detail and her patience with us. Thank you Sarah! One last comment - best Mai Tais since Trader Vic’s closed.😉
All in all, well worth the long walk from the Grand Pequot Hotel to the Fox Tower.
I've been here many times and as usual Red Lantern did not disappoint! From the Drinks to the apps and entrees everything was amazing. The management was also very attentive and remedied a small issue ASAP and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed out stay!
With my wife having Celiac disease and me with an allergy, Chinese style food hasn't been an option unless we make it at home. After finding Red Lantern by accident we have made several special trips down (3hr drive) to dine here and enjoy the casino. Service has always been great and the food as well. Recommend making reservations on weekends.
Enjoyed a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere
Enjoyed sushi at the Red Lantern recently. Food was good, service excellent. Ambiance was diminished somewhat by the loud music. Prices for sushi reasonable, drinks high, but not out of line with other restaurants at Foxwoods.
Great Food. Server could have been a little more attentive.
Great food, great service, great time!
Service was great our server was very nice and on top of things but the food was just ok. Great atmosphere but it was a bit too dark.
We were seated promptly at our reservation time and our waitress came right over to take our drink order. She was friendly, outgoing, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations. The drinks we ordered were excellent. We had the chicken bao and the dumplings to start and they were both delicious and came out quickly. We ordered samurai steak and the Mongolian steak and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly on each.
We had a reservation for a Saturday at 6pm. Upon arriving, the restaurant was pretty empty however we were seated at a small table in front of a huge column. There were plenty of other seats open so we asked for a different table. We were then seated next to the kitchen entrance . Really?! My boyfriend took the glass in front of him and flipped it right side up. As he did that, the glass was noticeably stuck to the table. Gross! Our food was average at best. He had a chicken stir fry which lacked seasoning. My sushi was barely edible. The rice tasted stale/old. Needless to say, we will never eat there again.
Our server was outstanding and the food was what you would expect. The restaurant decor is tired and a little beat up.
Manager and The girl with the cute bob with purple highlights were extremely accommodating - thank you
Chicken fried rice was bland, but otherwise food was good.
Great location for dinner prior to going to Shrine Night club. Being that we had tickets for the New Years party at Shrine the restaurant manager personally escorted us into the night club.
Not nearly as good as the Boston location. Shrimp pad thai tasted nothing like pad thai but more noodles with sweet and sour sauce. Beef and broccoli had 4 pieces of beef and 100 pieces of broccoli. D+ on food.
BE FOREWARNED! I made a reservation ahead of time because we knew we were attending a show on a Friday night before a show, so it would be packed. What we didn’t know, is that it would be one mid-step after another.
-Steak Teriyaki Noodles were fabulous
(This is unfortunately my only pro)
-Arrived 15 minutes before our reservation. Watched others get walked right to their tables. We were told to wait. Watched others get seated. Didn’t get seated until 15 minutes after our reservation time. After they realized they forgot about us.
-We were seated on the “Shrine” side of the restaurant. Apparently this meant we got to listen to techno music and watch flashing lights for our entire dinner. Please note, we had an 8:30 dinner reservation. At no point were we asked if this was ok. I couldn’t talk to my date because he couldn’t hear me.
- Our waiter didn’t write our order down. Because of this, he forgot to put in our appetizer.
- Our entrees took 50 minutes to arrive. We watched everyone around us get appetizers and entrees while we sat and waited.
Conclusion: We will not return. Poor front desk staff, bad wait staff, ok food, horrible non-restaurant atmosphere (think extremely loud music banging in your ears non stop)
The manager greeting us was somewhat rude. They placed us in a corner booth which was nice. However, it was freezing and everyone that had one was wearing a coat. The menus were worn and dirty. The food was rushed and the timing off. My pad Thai was terrible, worst I have ever had. My husbands tuna steak was good. The best thing was the cheesecake egg rolls for dessert. Nothing about this meal was worth the $200 check. We will never go back.
Was our 2 time dining here. Very enjoyable. Food and service were very good. We will return next time we are in the area
This was our second visit to Red Lantern and it didn’t disappoint! I’d highly recommend the spicy tuna on crispy rice—yum!!! The tuna poke was great and fresh. We also loved the beef buns. Food and service were great. We’ll be back next time we go to Foxwoods.
Food was delicious! I got the Singapore noodles which was yummy. Service was great as well.
I thought it was great and reasonably priced. Loved the atmosphere and the complimentary tickets to Shrine were an added bonus.
Sushi boat for 2-3 was barely enough for 1. It was very good but not very good sized.
While the menu was pricey the sushi we ordered was absolutely amazing!! I had ordered a miso soup and my boyfriend ordered lettuce wraps for an app. Then for a meal we split 2 roles of sushi that were $17/each, but probably the best sushi we have ever had. We decided to get an order of fried rice to split as well. The fried rice as made to order so they were able to accommodate to my food allergy to eggs. I would have liked to order noodles on the side opposed to rice but an order of veggie lo mein was $24 YIKES. Absolutely more pricey than your average upscale Asian restaurant, but if you are going to splurge, spurge on the sushi.
