Everything was good except the waiter. Mistake after mistake. It seems as if he was not really paying attention and had no experience with tasting the food but other than that...it was amazing :)

The food was good. If you plan to go on a Saturday night it will be super loud but the music is good. Overall I enjoyed myself.

Great gourmet Asian food in a beautiful, artful environment. My only concern was the music level is very loud, but the memorable and super tasty food more than made up for it. I had a delicious Sinapore street noodle dish, the best dumplings I've had in a long time, and sumptuous desserts that were deliciously memorable. My colleagues had whole duck, lobster salad, and delicious lobster rangoon. It's steps away from a parking garage and the Lyric Stage Company, making it perfect for a simple, artful, and tasty night out.

Interesting food, good service. Too loud for dining. Difficult to have conversation when seated at tables.Music okay if you are interested only in bar scene.

Very impressed with the gluten free options, and the knowledge of the waitress on gluten free items. I'll definitely be back!

The place is really not that great. Food is flat and definitely not well presented. Service is even worse with waiters who disappear and are not very professional. Totally disappointing.

Red Lantern raises the bar when it comes fantastic food! Everything came out perfectly., Presentation is incredible. Every dish has its own unique set of flavors along with phenominal sauces. Ordered almost every appetizer this visit and must say I cannot pick a favorite. They are all that GOOD!!

From the sleepy host to the disappearing waiter, it was frustrating to dine at Red Lantern. Seems they forget that they’re selling some of the most expensive Chinese food in the city. The meal lasted over 1.5 hours for two people, 45 min longer than it needed to be, but we waited. For everything. To place a drink order, to place our food order, for water, for chop sticks, and for our check. Finally took the check to the same sleepy host and asked that he wake up and help us by processing payment so we could just leave.
When the waiter did appear, it was to mess things up - taking plates as we were literally still eating from them, taking utensils and not returning with clean ones, and overall creating the vibe that he was too cool for his job and we were a nuisance.
Perhaps this explains why we secured a reservation at a prime time and the cavernous dining room was nearly empty. It used to be much better.
Much better service at almost every other place I’ve fined in the city of Boston, regardless of cost.

Was expecting intricate food and laid back atmosphere, but we were seated right near the DJ on the dance floor (the restaurant becomes a club after 10pm). My friend and I couldn't hear each other talk. The food was okay, but expensive. Perhaps we would have had more fun had we been able to drink (as we are under 21).

The service was excellent. Both the front desk staff and the wait staff were professional, efficient, and friendly. The food was quite tasty with generous portions. The price was fairly high but given the portion size not unreasonable. I was there Saturday night from 7:30 to 9 so it was definitely packed. The space is interesting and attractive but exposed brick reflects sound so having a conversation at normal voice levels wasn’t in the cards. High noise levels seem to be the norm for popular bars and restaurants and red lantern is no exception.
My second reservation about the place is with the food. While everything was quite tasty as previously noted, afterwards I felt tension in my head that often happens when a restaurant goes heavy on the MSG. Next time I’ll ask them to hold the msg and report back.

Great decor, excellent food, tasty cocktails and great service. The biggest negative is how loud they play the music during dinner. I was there on a Saturday night and there was a DJ playing and it seems like the restaurant turns into a night club around 10pm however it was definitely nightclub level volumes with the music before then which makes it awful for trying to have dinner conversation. I was hoarse by the end of the meal shouting to be heard at a table for 4. Not ideal if you care to talk during your meal.

I have dined at Red Lantern countless times. Yesterday, I experienced the worst service in history. Bobby took about 20 minutes to come ask for a drink/ anything order. We got our drinks but no water for an additional 20 minutes. He never came back to ask if we needed anything. We asked a runner for a second round and he said he would tell our server. That never came. We got the check and I had to go to the front desk to get our cards ran because he never came back. The restaurant was not packed. He had one large table where he spent all his time at. We should have gotten a different server he was going to dedicated to that table.

The restaurant overall was amazing, the waiter I had forgot everything we order maybe if he wrote stuff down I would of given it a 5/5 but that’s something to improve on. Great place other then the service.

Food and service outstanding. We were a party of 6 and for those of us older than the average age in the place, it was hard to hear each other. Fun to have a DJ but honestly hard to have a wonderful dining experience.

Some of us had good dishes, others not. Tik Tok chicken and Pad Thai was excellent. The Beef and Broccoli was not edible by the two people at our table who ordered it. The cod was very fishy and not fresh. The waitress seemed annoyed in having to serve us before the dinner even began. Cool setting but nothing to go back to anytime soon. Probably a great spot for drinks and bites with a large group.

Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous. We went on a Tue night and didn’t know there was an all you can eat option, so we decided to do it. Service was super fast BUT it seemed as if the rolls were made in advance. The rolls were a bit stiff and chilled and the dishes where cold too. I love sushi but was disappointed by this. I would definitely recommend going but order off the regular menu.

The food was awesome and we had a really great experience. They were able to accommodate a vegetarian request on a non-vegetarian dish without any trouble. The caramel macadamia nut tart for dessert was so good! We will definitely be back.

I have dined at Red Lantern many times and it is always consistent and delicious. The Gluten Free menu has many choices in all categories. Red Lantern is a hot spot with most of the guests being young professionals ranging from mid 20's to mid 30's on average but go no matter what your ages is. The food is amazing!!!

We had a good time, the food was great and the service was good.
I was slightly annoyed that I made a reservation then when I got there was told there was a time limit on my table and asked if I would be done in an hour and a half.

Great ambience and great food intersect at the lively Buddha-decorated Red Lantern. Was here about four or five years ago, and the über satisfied feeling I felt then was exactly the same this time around. Highly recommend.

Really disappointed in the cocktails. For a restaurant that has a whole page of house drinks, they really came up short. Of the 8 different cocktails ordered by our group, all were unbalanced and in need of refinement. Most were either too sweet or too sour. There are 3 different Mai Tai drinks on the menu; all 3 including the "Classic Mai Tai" include pineapple. No Mai Tai should have pineapple in it.

This place should forget about serving food and stick to being a bar/nightclub!!!
The music was booming while having a meal with my wife at 7 pm!
Service was really poor. The server spilled wine while pouring then at the end of the bottle she just filled my glass with the remaining wine and put none in my wife’s glass!
Won’t be back!!
