When I made the reservation there was a specific section where you can flag if it's a special occasion. It was my girlfriend's birthday so I selected "birthday". The wait staff or hostess did nothing to acknowledge this information. I don't expect them to come to your table and sing happy birthday at such a nice place but even a small happy birthday or cupcake with a candle would've went a long way. Not sure why this was overlooked. Great meal, fresh sushi. But the fact that they didn't even wish a happy birthday was a disappointment.

Brought my niece here for a fun dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. Duck fried rice was out of this world. Our food came out rather slowly, even though the restaurant was not full. I don't think that was our waiter's fault, though, she was fantastic. I asked her if the bar would make a non-alcoholic cocktail for my niece, which they did, and they served it to her in a coconut. It absolutely made her day - which means points for me! Thanks so much, RL! I'll be back and happy to recommend to my friends.

Great vibe, very cool place, this is a special occasion place, otherwise can’t justify the prices to the food. We spent $350 with a few drinks (4 people) and I left hungry. Drinks are strong and very good but most are $15 at a minimum. Service was ok, 3 of were finished when the 4th finally got her meal. They were apologetic but that’s about it.
Paid $38 for a piece of sea bass that was smaller than a tennis ball. Wife got the beef dish and it was plenty.... be careful what you choose.

Food was mostly tasty, especially the apps, seaweed salad and sushi. All super yummy. Fried rice was under seasoned/bland, and the skirt steak was chewy beyond reason, and unpleasant.

Gluten-free options were abundant and the chocolate raspberry cake dessert (gluten free) was the best GF dessert we’ve ever had.

Don’t know that I’d go back, but if you stick to the sushi you won’t likely be dissatisfied. Recommend going after sundown as the windows cast a jarring glare, and you can better appreciate the ambiance with the lanterns.

The food was excellent but the service was quite slow. Seemed like there weren’t enough waitstaff. Our waiter was very nice however.

Today wasn’t up to the bar. The food was sloppy and wasn’t where it usually is. The sushi we had was enjoyable and had a odor. Normally we never have a complaint. There is to much competition in the area for them to serve a bad meal. The waitress was good and friendly when we saw here . Very disappointed for a Easter dinner.

Overall service wasn’t bad it’s just very busy. They cram in as many people as possible making it almost impossible to get between tables . Overall music was nice (hip hop/rap)and food could’ve been better for the price . Cocktail options at the table are limited and pricey. However you are downtown!

This is my favorite restaurant ever! Nobody does sushi like red lantern! They also have amazing cocktails that pair well with everything. All the other food is packed with flavor but not with salt like most places!

We did the unlimited sushi on Tuesday evening for $25. It was well worth it! The sushi was excellent.

Pick Pad Thai over Lo Mein. Long pause between courses. Could not get special accommodation for seating in empty restaurant.

Went here for the first time. We had a 6 pm reservation and were seated right away. Our server was great- friendly and helpful with suggestions. Food and drinks were very good. The restaurant gets very busy, noise level is tolerable. My only negative is some of the tables are very close together. I don't like being able to over hear others conversation. Other than that, I would recommend it.

Awkward at bat when hostess came. Hostess very polite. Bartender was so agro about transfers that she didn’t get “please close the tab and send to the table” wanted to tip her out, just dint want to stand there with my girlfriend and hostess for processing... I totally get the “don’t transfer or I’ll lose my tip” but would like cooperation. It was a $20 tab for two drinks.

Pretty good for a Thursday night. I would recommend bringing a large group so you can try more things off the menu! A little bit more pricey than expected.

I chose Red Lantern for a birthday dinner, there was 8 of us in the party. The food was phenomenal, we ordered a ton of food and were satisfied when we left. The prices could be a bit high for a smaller group, keep in mind when ordering food the portions are large. There was loud music playing during dinner and around 11:30pm the main dining area turns into a dance floor. The crowd here is a fun group of 27+ yr olds. Great spot for a special occasion & better than the Foxwoods location!

Like the semi private room we got assigned. Also great atmosphere and music after your dinner.

I have been to Red Lantern on many occasions. This time there were a few glitches. I was meeting a friend for dinner at 6 PM and arrived early so I went to the bar for a drink. A bartender gave me a drink menu and went to help others while a 2nd tender joined her. It was then a good 10+ minutes before either noticed that I had not been served.

Dinner was fine - the food tasty - but the level of ambient music was louder than on prior occasions, making conversation difficult. I do wish they had a space where the sound was not piped in so loudly.

Service was none existent very noisy at an early hour, food quality downgraded from last time we were there.

Red Lantern gave us amazing service. We were seated quickly with our reservation and everything we ordered was at the table within five minutes. My only complaint is that for the price, the main entrees (fried rice or lo mein) were very bland and needed a lot of seasonings/sauces. The lobster rangoons were amazing and my Mai Tai was very strong in a good way. I enjoyed the experience.

A big disappointment in my opinion. It’s as if the restaurant can’t make up its mind if it wants to be a Chinese restaurant or a Sushi Bar. It’s a huge place, and I imagine once it gets going, the scene is lively and fun. But if you’re going to eat, I feel you can do much better elsewhere for the price. FYI the rolls come dripping in sauce, so if you want to taste the sushi, forget it. The flavors are drowned out by the gooey liquid poured all over the main event.

Loved the food at Red Lantern. Really good scallion pancakes and dumplings. Was surprised with how large the portions were. It is pretty loud, so not the best for quiet conversation but great ambiance for girl's night or just a fun night out! We did have slight issues with trying to change the reservation, and you should be aware that they only allow splitting between 4 cards. Otherwise, we had a great experience!

It was my best friends birthday party! So much fun, we will be back.
