The menu had changed and the food was better than ever. Service was great...the restaurant is noisy but fun!
Great food, big portion, good
Service, like the music but very loud.
Huge portions! Definitely family style eating. The fried rice dish can easily feed 3/4 people. Lobster Rangoon was amazing!! Highly recommend.
I have dined at Red Lantern countless times. Yesterday, I experienced the worst service in history. Bobby took about 20 minutes to come ask for a drink/ anything order. We got our drinks but no water for an additional 20 minutes. He never came back to ask if we needed anything. We asked a runner for a second round and he said he would tell our server. That never came. We got the check and I had to go to the front desk to get our cards ran because he never came back. The restaurant was not packed. He had one large table where he spent all his time at. We should have gotten a different server he was going to dedicated to that table.
Wow, what a dinner! Sea Bass with smoked eggplant. Salmon with orange miso. Duck nachos! And great Mai-Tais!!
The restaurant overall was amazing, the waiter I had forgot everything we order maybe if he wrote stuff down I would of given it a 5/5 but that’s something to improve on. Great place other then the service.
Very good food, service fast and friendly. A little noisy, but what can you expect on a friday night
Food and service outstanding. We were a party of 6 and for those of us older than the average age in the place, it was hard to hear each other. Fun to have a DJ but honestly hard to have a wonderful dining experience.
Some of us had good dishes, others not. Tik Tok chicken and Pad Thai was excellent. The Beef and Broccoli was not edible by the two people at our table who ordered it. The cod was very fishy and not fresh. The waitress seemed annoyed in having to serve us before the dinner even began. Cool setting but nothing to go back to anytime soon. Probably a great spot for drinks and bites with a large group.
Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous. We went on a Tue night and didn’t know there was an all you can eat option, so we decided to do it. Service was super fast BUT it seemed as if the rolls were made in advance. The rolls were a bit stiff and chilled and the dishes where cold too. I love sushi but was disappointed by this. I would definitely recommend going but order off the regular menu.
The food was awesome and we had a really great experience. They were able to accommodate a vegetarian request on a non-vegetarian dish without any trouble. The caramel macadamia nut tart for dessert was so good! We will definitely be back.
I have dined at Red Lantern many times and it is always consistent and delicious. The Gluten Free menu has many choices in all categories. Red Lantern is a hot spot with most of the guests being young professionals ranging from mid 20's to mid 30's on average but go no matter what your ages is. The food is amazing!!!
We had a good time, the food was great and the service was good.
I was slightly annoyed that I made a reservation then when I got there was told there was a time limit on my table and asked if I would be done in an hour and a half.
We received a warm and friendly welcome and we were shown to our table in a timely manner.
We enjoyed the pupu platter and duck fried rice to share.
Both very generous portion sizes, beautifully presented and tasted amazing!!
Great ambience and great food intersect at the lively Buddha-decorated Red Lantern. Was here about four or five years ago, and the über satisfied feeling I felt then was exactly the same this time around. Highly recommend.
Just perfect before the Celtics!
It was great. Always is! All you can eat sushi on Tuesdays is worth it (other dishes are good as well).
Great atmosphere, but terrible service. Food is alright!
We always sit at the kitchen counter, we love to watch the chef cook and enjoy our conversation. It's separate and away from the crowd. My favorite place to sit :)
Really disappointed in the cocktails. For a restaurant that has a whole page of house drinks, they really came up short. Of the 8 different cocktails ordered by our group, all were unbalanced and in need of refinement. Most were either too sweet or too sour. There are 3 different Mai Tai drinks on the menu; all 3 including the "Classic Mai Tai" include pineapple. No Mai Tai should have pineapple in it.
I loved the music, and also the vibe. I would recommend everyone in the city to come to this place. The ambience and environment is very much worth it. All waiters, servers, managers, cooks, chefs are all people friendly and they get the job done efficiently.
This place should forget about serving food and stick to being a bar/nightclub!!!
The music was booming while having a meal with my wife at 7 pm!
Service was really poor. The server spilled wine while pouring then at the end of the bottle she just filled my glass with the remaining wine and put none in my wife’s glass!
Won’t be back!!
Red Lantern was great!
However, when I arrived for my 8PM reservation the hostess said I was not in the system. I had the confirmation email from Open Table, and the fact that your website knew to send me an email to rate the experience confirms that the OT system knew I was confirmed for Red Lantern at 8PM. The hostess was great for still finding me a table but I was a little surprised that they had no idea I had a reservation despite showing them the confirmation email I received from your business (i.e. Open Table).
Amazing food, great staff and great management- very accommodating!
Had the $25 unlimited sushi menu on a Tuesday, and it was a brilliant deal! Freshly made sushi was delicious. The starters were excellent too - lobster wonton was unbelievable!
Throughly recommend for an excellent atmosphere, even on a weekday.
Great apps! Mediocre Udon noodles and Chicken Fried Rice ( bland and with a lack of any distinct flavor....fell flat). Great decor.
Waitress didn’t come to our table for 25 mins after we sat down. Then waiter tried to memorize our order and messed it up.
A very dark place, with good appetizers but fair sushi, employees who could care less —to the point of being rude (best employee was a food runner on his first day!). Place was not crowded, our first table had street light shining right in my face. Asked to move, it was a production. Horrible service all around! No smiles, no welcome, no check ins, no thank yous. When they first opened, there were wait lines to get in. Not anymore! But they still act with an affected attitude.
With all the great places to eat in Boston, we will not be going back.
Celebrated my Mom's 88th birthday. Wonderful time. Food and Service was impeccable. Can not wait to go back. Thank You.
We love Red Lantern and had a fun dinner on a Saturday night.
Great spot in Boston for fun dinner with a group of friends or date night. Will definitely be back for birthday celebrations!
Food, ambience and service were great! My drink was made precisely how I like it too!! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
Great food, great ambiance.
Our server Bobby was great ! Provided us with excellent food suggestions!
Double date. Good time.
Its a cool space. The menu is interesting and the food is well prepared and tasty. The drawback, in my opinion, was the noise level... The music is kept at a level that nears dance club volume... It was impossible to have a conversation. I believe it becomes a club after 10... But this was 8:00... Literally couldn't talk. Pretty frustrating for us... We choked down our meals and ran out asap.
Busy and energetic. Food was good. Not the best sushi but creative and diverse menu. Good drink list.
Great food! Music way too loud to enjoy conversation after 9pm when they turn up volume.
