Excellent restaurant, les sushis sont très bons. Le restaurant est très bien décoré.
The food was average or below average but the ambience and alcohol kind of makes up for it. The bang bang shrimps were very salty, the noodles were too bland, and the chicken quality was poor.
Pretty nice experience for Happy Hour.
The food was average. We had two specialty rolls along with an avocado and spicy salmon roll. None were very good. One person ordered a $14 specialty drink. No flavor. Very disappointed in the quality. The atmosphere is very nice, but there are too many amazing restaurants in Boston. We would not go back.
Great vibe, food.
Food was delicious and the drinks were terrific. I had a classic mai tai and it was perfect. Lots of variety on the menu. We had a 7:30 theatre engagement and we told the waitress and everything came out promptly.
The bus boys service was the best part of the meal. Food had no Taste
Great sushi, nice atmosphere, service was a little slow.
Need better beer and cider selections.
Food, while abundant, was fairly tasteless and required more soy sauce than would be advisable to use. Service was ok, but slow. Tables did not appear clean.
Very creative twists on Asian classics. Really enjoyed the appetizer special but was somewhat disappointed in the small number of entree choices. Noise level a bit much at times. Our server was wonderful, though, and overall it was a nice experience.
Red Lantern is a beautiful restaurant with an asian/indsutrial feel to it. Very slick. The food was a quite a bit better than I expected. Service was very nice, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. A good balance - felt taken care of but not hurried. Scallion pancakes were nice and crispy with delicious sauces. Orange beef particularly good. Portions are very large, so sharing is almost a necessity.
it was fun with a big group but it ended up being very expensive for the amount of food we got. their drinks are pretty pricey but good. it also wasn’t very crowded as it was a weekday night
So good we're going back 2 days later!
Very slow service, my teriyaki chicken was horrible.
I said it’s an occasion - no one asked me anything.
Absolutely amazing! Dumpling promotion was worth it! Definitely will return soon.
when a restaurant is not to full I ask why they seat customers next to each other when other tables are available, This not just at the red Lantern it is all of the opentable dining we have done
Food was good but the waiting was awful.. booked a table a 8.30 the staff told us to wait a bit because they needed to set the table. They told us to go at the bar and that they would send someone once the table was ready.. Waited for thirty minutes and had to remind them I had a reservation because they obviously did not care..
terrible for a place that wants to be upscale !
Four of us had a very fine dinner at the Red Lantern on Saturday evening, 4/27/19. The food was terrific and the ambiance was beautiful if a just bit noisier than we'd hoped.
One very odd thing happened. One of our party had tea with her dinner and when it arrived the water in the teapot was tepid. She asked the waiter if she could get some hot water and the waiter said he would go get some. But about five minutes later he returned only to tell us the kitchen could not provide us with any water hotter than the barely lukewarm pot we had originally. What? A kitchen that can't provide hot water? This was quite unbelievable to all of us. When a restaurant kitchen can't boil hot water, what does that tell you? They couldn't use a microwave for a minute? Couldn't put a small pan on a stove for a couple minutes? The waiter did not seem to have an answer and he appeared to be just delivering a message from someone in the kitchen who couldn't be bothered.
Is this a horrible glitch in an other wise very nice dinner? No, of course not. But it was a very odd lapse in customer service that surprised us.
The Entrees n Sushi was really good. Service was a little slow. The worst part was the desert. I will never order desert again. The Manager was really nice to take it off our check.
It's overpriced Chinese food. there are nice places around where you can spend less and eat food of the same quality.
Wonderful ambiance and great food!!
Our group of 5 was seated right away. The waiter showed up promptly to fill our water glasses. However, after that, he kept us waiting to take orders and deliver beverages. Food was very good, but not really outstanding. The distance from the kitchen resulted in less-than piping hot items.
Bad service and very disappointed in food
The ambiance was fun but the service was so slow. Waited for ever for someone to talk our order then again waited forever for drinks to arrive.
I went to red lantern before attending a graduate ball for school and had an excellent dining experience. They sat us 30 minutes before the reservation at our request and we had excellent service. Food came out quick and was delicious, along with drinks. This was not my first time at Red Lantern and I will continue to recommend it. Thank you for a great dining experience !
Amazing service! Great atmosphere! We will most likely be back.
The staff and service was wonderful. The food and drinks were unpalatable and repulsive. The drinks were not being made properly and the food was bland and stomach turning.
I should have known when the menus were sticky & gross that this wasn’t going to be my finest meal...sushi tasted really funky, and the rest of our meal was subpar. No offense Red Lantern, but skip this one, you can find better in Boston.
Enjoyed it so much, we were seated in the back dining room no view of the dance floor, I would prefer that next time.
Really enjoyed red lantern. Sat at counter which made it fun, great variety of food, large portions, wonderful service
Awesome food, great ambiance, and a very cool place to invite people from out of town to show off just how cool the unique architecture is in the city.
Rolls were absolutely delicious and very fresh. We had rock shrimp, crab, sashimi, miso and hot and sour soup. Presentation was lovely. Overall very good experience... we would return.
We asked our waiter for drink recommendations and she recommended the fish bowl drink which once we got, we thought was wayyyy too sweet. We couldn't even take one sip. We didn't want to outwardly be THOSE customers who complain so we mentioned it many times that the drink was too sweet and that we can't drink it. It was $55. The waiter always changed the topic and seemed like she didn't want to have to deal with our unhappiness. Other than that, food was delicious but not necessarily worth the price. And the place itself is very aesthetic.
Way too much sauce on everything. Sushi covered in goo.
They changed the menu significantly, the current menu is horrible
This was our third visit and we do not plan to return. The food was exceptionally badly prepared and did not rise to the expectations that one might have for the pricing charged. Too bad. Such lost opportunity to capitalize on a great concept coupled with a unique setting. I wonder if Management periodically reassesses its recipes and how they are executed. I suppose patrons will go back to P F Chang where taste may not be exception but at least consistent.
Always a great time! Our favorite place to spend time with friends. Amazing food!
A group of 8 went. Ordered the sushi boat, drinks and some entrees.
we found a hair in one of the entrees.
