Red Hill Station in Bernal Heights, San Francisco is a California restaurant offering the fresh catch from local fishermen and farms. The Red Hill Station menu is filled with a lot of dishes you won't find just anywhere. Excellent seafood choices like Monterey calimari, Tombo tuna, Alaskan Halibut fillet and White Gulf prawns mix perfectly with Southern Californian dishes like the Chorizo, lime, cream and fried serranos or Fried Local Night Smelt, pesto di limone salad.
Be careful when making a reservation here. I made one for four people quite awhile ago and received an email confirmation a few days before. However, when we showed up the restaurant said they didn't have my reservation in the system and that it would be a half hour wait. Fortunately someone left earlier and we didn't wait that long. The food we quite delicious and once seated the service was good.
Red Hill station gives you a relaxed dining experience. The menu is succinct and delicious - great fish, salads , pasta. We will definitely be back!
Due to no fault of the restaurant, it was a windy night and every time the door opened, a blast of cold air froze us. It was a busy night so it happened more often than not. As for the food, My husband had the Linguini and Clams and said it was the best he ever had. My fish and chips was fresh and batter was thick and even raw at a lot of places, so I peeled it off and ate just the fish. I had hoped it would have been lighter and crisper. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.

The service was almost as good as the amazing fresh seafood and ambiance. Beautiful Bernal Heights gem, I would eat there weekly if possible. Reasonably priced for an overall stellar meal of steak and seafood.
I have been to Red Hill Station 4 times. The staff is terrific and welcoming. The food is so good, fresh, in season and interesting.
The chef really knows how to cook fish. The place has a warm and upbeat vibe. Love this restaurant: I'll be back.
My husband and I went here the other night. It has a great neighborhood vibe and friendly knowledgeable service. We started with some kumamoto oysters and some fried local anchovies. Both were superb. The anchovies were perfectly salted and complimented by a green herb sauce and a side salad dressed in bright citrus dressing. My husband had the linguine with clams. The sauce was perfectly balanced, rich, and flavorful. I had a piece of halibut with an array of vegetables. All the food was really high quality made from ingredients prepared skillfully. The wine list is pricey, but they have 4 great wines on tap and you can get carafes. Also, corkage on your first bottle is free! Subsequent bottles are $20.
On this my 6th visit I am still enamored. The servers are courteous and friendly. They remembered my special request - Amy, an owner, is charming and engaging. The food has been on spot each visit. Nice addition to Bernal!
I have now eaten here 4 times and have been more than satisfied with the establishment. They are able to accommodate my dietary needs without issue. Friendly & Efficient!
What a gem! Food is fresh, portions generous and prices are unusually inexpensive for SF.
I was so happy to see the chef and long time server from Anchor open their own place. The first time we went it was a bit uneven, but I think they were still working out the kinds. So glad we went back, it was fabulous. I highly recommend any of the fish served with the brown butter almond sage sauce. This time it was Alaskan halibut. They take special care with the accompaniments: frizzled leeks on top of the fish, roasted Brussels sprouts, golden beets and fingerling potatoes along side. Just a few bites of each. Constant pleasure and variety. Super friendly people in every position.

As a culinary school graduate, I'm a big skeptic when I go to restaurants. I typically hate spending money making food that I could do better ...haha. But I must say that Red Hill Station was the exception. The food was outstanding! The artichoke stuffed with bay shrimp was perfection . The Caesar salad. .. done everywhere was one f the best I've ever had. The food the chef used showed high quality ingredients and produced a perfect blend off chic yet classic. Plating was beautiful as well. All in all, I would highly recommend this to my friends,
Red Hill Station is a Bernal Heights gem. It is small but the service is fantastic and the linguine & clams is outstanding. They've done wonders with the space and there is a private area for a small group. I love this place and crave their food when I'm not there.
Fresh well prepared fish and seafood!
Lunch prices seem a bit high. Friendly service. Will return.
