Italian American parade
Very delicious! We ended up going back the next day to get it again before we left back to Detroit. The Wattle & Snood was my favorite.
Your app is terrible.
I wrote a nice review, this is my THIRD try!
Food was good. A little pricey, though. They were out of the gnocchi with eggs which is what I went for. I don’t like real sweet food for breakfast, some of their meals are extremely sweet!
I will never visit New Orleans without eating at Red Gravy. We’ve had brunch there the two years and both meals were equally divine. The combination of Italian food with breakfast is genius. We’ve been both times during Mardi Gras so they’ve had awesome specials to try such as Mac n cheese popover and king cake French toast. I don’t think you can possibly go wrong with anything on menu. You can even get a meatball, they are INCREDIBLE, on the side. Don’t leave New Orleans without eating breakfast here.
I was excited to go here because they had gluten free options, but they charged an additional $5 to switch to a GF Pasta, which I think is obscene. I was happy with the food itself, but it was overpriced. I wouldn’t return to eat again because of pricing.
My wife made the choice to dine here based on reviews by TripAdvisor. Having the option to reserve a table using Open Table helped with the final decision. And we was glad we came. The food options were excellent, as we visited for breakfast. We had quite a memorable experience
Still trying to figure out how they've been rated as a top brunch. My omelette was good, not great, but it's sort of unfair to expect a "great" omelette (it is, after all, an omelette). Where I was most disappointed was in the item's "red gravy" -- it was just marinara. And maybe that's what it was supposed to be, but I was expecting something a little more fun and innovative being the restaurant's name sake.
I also wonder if my review would lean a little more positive if the service experience weren't so poor. The hostess seemed bored and perturbed. My waiter, despite being super amiable and friendly, was slow and it took about 10 whole minutes before I was even approached or offered water. And it's a small place, so it felt awkward.
The space itself was cute and quirky but didn't seem 100% clean. My germophobe husband would have likely asked us to leave before even giving the experience a chance.
I wish I would have gone for lunch and ordered the handmade noodles, that might have also swayed this review in a more positive direction. Maybe next time!
We were able to get a table for 5 at the last minute on Sunday for brunch! The food was amazing! Would definitely recommend.
Food was amazing. Unlike anything I've had in NOLA. Fresh and fabulous! The pasta is made in house and cooked to perfection! Our server was excellent and very attentive. We had made reservations but waited about 15 mins for a table (yet walk-ups were being seated). In the end, it was well worth that minor faux pas!
Enjoyed this breakfast spot with a unique menu. Everything we ordered was fantastic, would recommend it and we will definitely be back. Four stars for service only because one person’s dish didn’t come out until about halfway through the meal. Otherwise we give it five stars.
The spaghetti and meatballs are the GREATEST in the universe! Red Gravy is the gold bar standard! Other menu items are also delicious - lots of creativity too like “The Godfather” sandwich. Meatball, egg, pepperoni and more. Great atmosphere and service on top of amazing food. Wish I lived here to go to Red Gravy more.
Excellent! We will definitely be coming back!
We had a great brunch at Red Gravy! The restaurant is small, so definitely make a reservation. The food was delicious and unique. Wait staff was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be returning to Red Gravy on our next trip to New Orleans!
Meeting a friend after almost 13 years of not seeing one another. The staff was wonderful and had delicious recommendations.
We are part time residents of New Orleans, and have eaten here several times. One of the best breakfast places in New Orleans.
Wow! The meatball omelet was amazing, as were the Parmesan grits! I wasn’t a big fan of Bloody Mary but lived their limited time Carnival Coctail!
NOLA has great restaurants all over the city. This is a small place with fantastic food. I get to the city 3-4 times a year. We ALWAYS go to this restaurant! If you go Sunday brunch be sure to make reaervations. Limited seats.
This is our favorite breakfast/brunch spot in New Orleans
It was amazing. Server was super nice, everything was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy. I will go back for sure
This is always on our list when we’re in New Orleans. Fantastic food, cozy atmosphere, outstanding Bloody Marys. Always keeps us coming back at least once during a visit!
Great Brunch before the Saints game!
Food, the atmosphere and the staff were amazing! Bloody Mary was disappointing.
Fantastic meatballs and sauce/gravy!
Incredible menu, I had so many choices I didn't know what to order and I'm a very picky eater. I had the spaghetti breakfast with a meatball. The best meatball in my life. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
We had a friend visiting from Florida. We took him to Red Gravy 5 years ago and he has to go back every time he comes to New Orleans. The food ad service is always spot on.
Good food - but overpriced for what they provide - 3 to 4-star quality.
Fantastic. Great service and even better food.
The is a very small, slightly funky restaurant with a very creative and talented chef/owner. Always a great meal in a laid back atmosphere. A true hidden gem in a foodie city.
Waitress was super! Owner came out kitchen to visit- nice! Hostess could be a bit more polished on how to take care of guest...
Food was great, cute little restaurant! I wish they had more GF options, but will be back if ever in NOLA again.
This experience was everything I'd hoped for and more. The food was absolutely delicious. Drinks were made to help you wake up in New Orleans, with awesome options for the kids. Highly recommend "On da Bayou" and the cannoli pancakes. The atmosphere is quaint, but really fun with a real "homey" ambiance. As if you're eating breakfast at your mom's table. The restaurant space is limited so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. Phenomenal service. Food is quick, but you'll want to savor every bite so take your time and enjoy.
It’s just not what it used to be. They changed the menu to subpar food choice for brunch. And no more chicken and waffles
This restaurant is amazing. My fiancé and I ate there for bunch one day and loved it so much we brought the rest of our family back the next day! Best meatballs I’ve ever had and lots of the decor is homemade which is so cute. I wish I lived in New Orleans so I could eat here more!
Breakfast was not typical American fare; there were things like "breakfast spaghetti". That said, it was a delightful surprise.
Meatballs are a must try. Quaint joint which is family run.
After dining for brunch there we decided to take an order of meatballs for our son. They charged $.75 for takeout which was a cheap shot in our opinion .
Otherwise a must visit among other gems in this food city.
Father’s Day brunch
I hate to leave a bad review for anyone's bread and butter, but this establishment went above and beyond to make our dining experience very awkward and unpleasant from the day before our arrival. We made to separate reservations since our group was supposed to be 7 which could not be accommodated via Open Table. I had immediately contacted the restaurant to let them know and was told that they would make note of the reservations and try to accommodate our requests to sit together or nearby. The day before the reservation we received a nasty call from Rosemary (owner) threatening that the reservations could not be seated together and that we had a reservation for 8 not 7 and needed to show up! Our group of 7 ended up being 6 due to an illness but we showed up. Our server was gracious and nice and gave great recommendations from the menu. The very "busy" restaurant which could not guarantee us sitting together had a total of 10 people including our group and was otherwise empty! We enjoyed out meal and yes great meatballs, but as we were leaving and using the bathrooms said loud conversation for all to hear from Rosemary to server: So did that group of 7 ever show up this morning?( A quick look around and interest in your guests would have answered that question for you) Server: Yes they are just finishing up but they were 6. Rosemary rants and raves how she has to pay for said 7 people and how that's not right. Dear Rosemary, whatever the situation, one must learn to handle such upsets in the restaurant and hospitality business with grace and tact. Service always goes much further than good food! I immediately cancelled our next reservation with them for 3 days later and happily booked brunch elsewhere.
Great food and great service!
