Chef/Owner Eric Brenner spent his first decade in the industry inside Italian kitchens. Talking up St. Louis' wide-ranging Italian eatery scene, which gets as specific as regional specialties, he says he's wanted to have a place like this since he was 18.
"We're going to start very simple and accessible," he says, "we'll play to the crowd and start a dialogue, then grow the menu with community input."
"Simple," includes dishes like his tomato bisque, with which only has five ingredients. "It's all about the perfect balance. And that gets back to the essence of good Italian food: quality ingredients, very few, in perfect balance." Other examples include his St. Louis-style, thin-crust pizza, best compared to a flat-bread.

way too damn loud in dining hall...table next to us had guy...drunk??...just yelling...was on date so not great 1st impression...service waitress had to be reminded few times for things ..canned not fresh parmesan in tube?? seriously in a n Italian restaurant?? and no bread service?? I probably won't be back!!! :(

Went in for a dinner with friends. The food was great, rice balls and some pasta dishes. The wine selection is nice, lots of “by the glass” offerings. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Red Gravy. It could not have gone any better. Our server was excellent as was the food and atmosphere. We had two entrees and two desserts and everything was fantastic! This will be one of our new favorites!! I highly recommend Red Gravy to anyone who appreciates excellent food.

Wow! Great place for pasta! I had the Lunch Special. Linguine Tito Mare with the Tomato bisque. Both were great! Highly recommend this place for lunch and can’t wait to come back for dinner!

*Music was too loud. *Had to send risotto balls back as they were cold in the center. *Carbonara was delicious, but eggplant parm was rather soggy and didn’t taste very good. *Should use different pasta with eggplant parm dish- not Angel hair pasta. *Would have liked to had bread served prior to meal or at least with meal. *Overall, not a great value for price we paid. *Servers were super nice and friendly and did check on us throughout the meal :) *Not sure we will return or recommend.

They had great Gluten Free pasta, when I asked all their sauces are also Gluten Free. 4 out of 7 of us are Gluten intolerant or allgeric and it was so nice to have excellent tasting Italian food that was GF and affordable. Thank you!

One of the best meals and experiences my wife and I have had. Our first time visiting and won't be our last. Cheyenne, our waitress, was outstanding. The entire night could not have been better. Thank you Red Gravy!!

Food is always good, our servers were accommodating as our group of 5 shared 3 main meals and 2 salads AND appetizers! One of the few places you can get Buccatini all’amatrciana, one of my favorite dishes from Italy. We had saltimbocca and regular spaghetti with meatballs. All were great as were the salads.

FINALLY some really good Italian food in Colorado Springs! Has been here for a few years and we just tried it. Eric the owner and chef was wonderful and his staff were equally wonderful. Really great food. We all loved what we had for dinner. Being from St Louis myself I can say this was great! The gooey butter cake dessert is a classic and was so yummy. We need more locally owned places in Colorado Springs!!

Everything tasted great! Our cocktails were delicious. Loved the atmosphere. The only complaint I have is that we ordered the risotto balls and the marinara that was served with them wasn’t warm. They tasted great so we didn’t send them back, but would have preferred hot marinara with them. Our server was attentive and had great suggestions.

We had one in our party with gluten/vegetarian needs, and the rest of us were just hungry. This place has wonderful dishes to serve both - and it was all delicious. We all ate the “special” dishes with equal gusto. Great ambiance, great service, and we could visit comfortably. The Red Gravy now tops our favorites list in COS.

We had a very nice meal. The only real problem that we felt was worth mentioning was, the temperature in the restaurant was very cold. Food was very good. Service was equally as good. It was our first time and will visit again.

I was a bit underwhelmed with the food. I had the pasta with the Sunday Gravy. The Gravy was good, but the pasta was a bit overcooked, as was my daughter's. We also shared the gluten-free garlic cheesy bread (my daughter is allergic to gluten) as well as the caprese salad, both of which were quite good, despite the visit being in March when it can be hard to get good tomatoes. The staff was very nice and overall everything else was on par so I'd probably try it again, but I'm not dying to go back.

This was my first experience at Red Gravy and I was highly impressed. The staff were really amazing and attentive. The wine was delicious. The food was absolutely scrumptious. One of the very best marsalas I've ever had. So good! Had the arugula salad and calamari too. Everything was just lovely. Highly recommend.
