Red Fish - Hilton Head
We had a great experience. Oddly, not crowded on a Saturday. The service and food were both great. We shared a calamari appetizer, we had a great spinach salad as well as a Caesar salad. The four of us had different seafood, mahi-mahi, sea bass, grouper. All were prepared perfectly. We dine here often if in Hilton Head, you should try this restaurant.
Excellent service and food. Wonderful experience. We will be back and recommend to friends. Thank you
We arrived ten minutes prior to our reservation and were told we would have to wait at the bar - which we did for almost 20 min - when I went back to the hostess to check on our table she said she assumed we would just stay at the bar! They had given our table away but would “check” to see if they could get us in. It wasn’t worth the time or money. Poor service and moderate food.
Came here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. I had the grilled mahi mahi special while my wife orderded the Scottish Salmon dinner. Both were well prepared and delicious! Compliments to the chef. Our server was pleasant and appropriately attentive. I am not knowledgeable of wines by any means, but the wine bar was impressive. We shared a glass of a German Reisling and some kind of French Bordeaux after dinner wine. Key Lime pie was almost in a class by itself. Definitely a special occasion place and priced accordingly, but we enjoyed everything about our special dinner.
We came for early dining, good menu, good service, first time to HHI, overall good but not “wow’d!”
last dinner in hhi before heading home, enjoyed very much, wish we had visited sooner.
will remember for next year, the early bird menu was excellent and a great value.
We are never disappointed when dining at Red Fish. The food is excellently prepared and the service is attentive without being intrusive. Extensive wine list. Highly recommend this restaurant.
A favorite restaurant or ours on Hilton Head! The food is always delicious and the service is excellent!
Arrived hangry on the island, went to Redfish and to our surprise we’re eligible for Early Dining. Everything was great and what a deal! We will be back!
One of the best restaurants in the area when value is considered. Great food. Good service
Another one of our vacation favorites. The service is always great. We have never been disappointed. We usually get the fish special and something from the menu. Tried the hummus appetizer this time, it was fabulous!
Once again, the sea bass did not disappoint! Flavors were so amazing together!! My husband had the halibut special which was cooked to perfection as well. Our server, Hannah was outstanding! She was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Red Fish.
The food portions were perfect, not overwhelming. The service was excellent with no waiting at all. I do think that 39.00 for my entree, 4 scallops with lobster meat in baked macaroni was too pricey.
We visit Hilton Head every Spring and always visit Red Fish once or twice during our time there. Favorites are the black bean soup and the sea bass preparation. The food and service are excellent. We do not know where to go for better.
Grouper was tough, not recommended. Scallops very good. They have a weird service with waiter taking order, then kitchen bringing food to table, and then other service girl clearing dishes. Waiter never came back to table after food service until ready to request dessert order. Service girl cleared plate away with 80% of fish dish remaining and was told it was tough. We've eaten there several times before and it was always good.
Our Favorite Hilton Head restaurant year after year.
Nice clean place...but the food was nothing special. If you like wine this is the place to go. If you prefer beer —-the selection is very shallow.
I rated the service as a 3 because I felt they were under-staffed the night we were there.
Overall, for a highly rated seafood restaurant, it did not “wow” me and I probably will not go back when visiting HHI.
Service was prompt, professional, and friendly. The food was excellent. They also had a good wine selection.
The blackened Mah Mahi was incredible - great wine list and very reasonable prices. Service is always +++ with Whitney, Marissa and Nicole. 😊
My wife ordered a seafood dish that she enjoyed. I ordered the fillet. I don’t know what the seasoning are that they use to put on the fillet, but I thought it was very salty flavored. So for that reason I will say that the food is just OK
Nice place to have dinner.. Great wine selection that is reasonably priced. Service is very good and the food comes out fast. Food quality is average for the price - nothing to complain about but alittle more care in the preparation of the main entree’s by the kitchen would be noticed. Easy place to get into and out of.
We go to this restaurant every time we are visiting Hilton Head. This time the sea bass wasn’t as good. The fish seemed to be buried in sauce and not as authentic. It’s always a good experience but I have normally been wowed and this time I wasn’t. Same for my husband with his dish.
Great food and service. Always friendly and helpful service to ensure the guests receive what they want.
I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare that came out medium well instead. I returned the steak but the cook insisted that the steak was cooked properly. The steak was medium at best in the center of the steak and was a very small section of the steak. The other plate ordered by my guest was okay with an average presentation and flavor.
I would recommend Red Fish to others. The food was okay; however, the service was outstanding. I had the sea bass special. It was way to sweet and not what I expected.
Can I give 6 stars? Always outstanding! Jazz on Wednesday night is great!
Calimari appetizer was extremely good, but experience went downhill from there. For the prices, entrees were marginal at best. Server was not attentive. Will not return.
Always great food. Can get loud with other guests
We celebrated my husband’s birthday. When I made the reservation, I requested a certain table and let them know we would be celebrating a birthday. The table I requested was waiting for us when we arrived. We all thought the salmon entree on the early dining menu was excellent. A complimentary dessert was given to my husband and he was able to choose any one he wanted from the menu. Our waitress was knowledgeable, professional, and very welcoming. It was a great evening.
Made reservation and asked for a specific server and did not get either waitress. Nothing was mentioned when I arrived or was seated.
enjoyed cocktails and early dining presentation.
Our server,Lori, was fantastic
Red a Fish has been one of our favorite restaurants. However, the service was so bad, we will not return.
The night started out fine. Our drink and appetizers were delivered promptly. It was shortly after this that a table of 10 was seated in our waitress’s section. This gave her three tables to wait on. The table of 10, our table of 3 and another table of 2. Apparently, she was either convinced she would make a higher tip at the large table or she simply was unable to handle three tables. Our dinner was brought out and placed in front of us leaving all the dirty app plates and empty glasses on the table. My mother ordered the grouper and it was inedible. It was a very old, fishy tasting $34 entree she sent it back and ordered a lobster tail which took 20 minutes to be brought out to her by the manager, who did not even apologize for the poor piece of fish or the time it took for the tail. My father and I both ordered the Kansas City strip and it was very good and cooked perfectly. I asked to substitute the lobster and shrimp mac and cheese in place of a potato option and she informed me there would be an up charge...which, of course, I expected. I was unable to enjoy the Mac and cheese, however, because there was truffle oil in it. I wish they would add that ingredient to the menu description since it is such a strong, distinct flavor. When we finished out meal, the bus boy came over to see if we needed a box. He took the two plates that needed boxing up, brought the box back and left every other dirty dish on the table. After about 10 minutes, we were able to get a hold of our waitress and asked about dessert. We asked her to clear some of the dirty dishes and to bring dessert menus. She brought the menus and then just never came back for an order. 10 minutes later, we saw her walking out way fully expecting she was coming to take our order...nope...instead she walked over to the table of 10 to take their dinner order! When she came over after that, we had had enough and decided to forego dessert and asked for the bill. While reviewing the bill, I noticed she had cha
Early bird menu great value but food was wonderful and service was great. Have been for dinner also and everything was great. I highly recommend Red Fish.
Always a most positive experience. Great food and service to match
Mother’s Day....server was excellent, food was mediocre. Sea bass was watery as if previously frozen and scallops were on the small side and only four, so not sufficient as an entree.
We went to Red Fish after seeing a play at the Hilton Head Arts Center.
The food was very good, and our waiter was excellent. It was a very
After purchasing some pretty expensive wine upfront in the retail shop we were placed in a back corner in a room that was completely vacant. It took almost 15 minutes for a server to realize we were there as we were placed behind a wine rack and were not visible to the rest of the restaurant. The food was pretty good but the service was so slow and lacking that it really took away from our experience. To be candid, we felt like pariah. I had a bad feeling by the lack of a greeting from the three ladies working the hostess table that things might not go well but I tried to shake that off. Unfortunately my initial instinct was correct. When I spend $500 plus on dinner I expect to be treated with a little bit of a friendly attitude and attention. To be clear, I’m not asking to be treated special. Really disappointing.
We had a very delicious dinner, everything was perfectly cooked. Our service was also outstanding. I would highly recommend Red Fish.
Fantastic final meal of vacation! Beautiful restaurant. Had the Shrimp Springrolls, Goat Cheese Salad, Scallops, & Ribeye. Everything was delicious!
