Red Fish - Hilton Head
Attentive service from Lori.
Wondeful experience for our Anniversary dinner. The house dinner specials were very good, the selection of wines by the glass even better. Service was spot on. Overall and very good meal.
Great food, great atmosphere. The miss and I really enjoyed our self.
Tabitha is one of the best servers we have ever had, bar none. Wish she was still full time at the restaurant. Always outstanding!
Been there several times and enjoyed it. This time was terrible. There were two parties going on and we could not converse at our own table. The parties were in an area next to our table, but there was no divider, so the noise was terrible.. We should have been moved as there were open tables in other areas
12–6-19 great food as always.
Outstanding food and service. The early bird. Was great . They even gave us a dessert for my wife's birthday and it was the dessert we ordered.
Wreck fish was fair at best. Usually this is a delicate fish comparable to grouper. This was tough requiring a knife to cut. This is the first poor meal we have ever had. Perhaps the fish was old.
Here for the Thanksgiving holiday. Always stop at Red Fish.
Service was very hospitable and timely. She recommended us buying a retail bottle for a better experience and we did! Scallops and Pasta were excellent and the desserts were amazing. We are here once five years prior and honestly after this dinner we asked why haven’t we come back? We’ll be back for sure when we come annually in May
This is THE place to go for Thanksgiving dinner. It is always excellent and the staff is outstanding.
Enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with dear friends. Food and service was awesome!
Very nice . Enjoyed the music
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal - service, food and atmosphere were wonderful.
Dinner with family. All the meals were delicious and the service great. Well done!
Delightful dinner, made reservations later than I might have wanted but turned out to be a very pleasant evening with wonderful service and wonderful seafood. Never disappointed when we bring friends or family or make reservations through Open Table.
Food was average to poor, very disappointed
It gets no better than eating lunch on the patio in November. The food at Red Fish is consistently good and the wine list quite deep. This is our go-to for Saturday lunch out.
My favorite restaurant on Hilton Head Island!
We go there every time we are in Hilton Head. One of our favorites on the island.
My son and I just ordered a few small plates for supper. The shrimp rolls were good and the caprese salad special was terrific. The lobster/shrimp mac and cheese was good, though you couldn't really tell there was lobster or shrimp in there. I would go again.
Always a great time at red fish. Jeff and his crew always give you good service. The best early dining special on HHI. Wonderful food, especially the shrimp and grits, coconut shrimp , Latin ribs and salmon. Their soups are amazing and the desserts are wonderful.
It's a lovely big place with lots of smaller rooms so you don't feel the crowd and the food is consistently good.
Excellent food..Great value
Service was ok...but nothing special
Beautiful service, delicious food. I would come back here every week if I live close.
We selected from the Early Dining menu available between 5 PM and 5:45 PM. Nice selection of entrees which included a glass of wine and a choice of salad or soup. Everything was excellent. Give it a try.
Phenomenal food and service! Loved everything we ordered, even the burger! One star knocked off because no views or outdoor seating over the water at all... because it is an island restaurant in a strip center.
Two of our 4 entrees were ones we would have sent back had we not been entertaining out of town guests. Pasta was dry and tough (under a warmer too long?) as was the shrimp. Fish special was only so so. Service ranked somewhere in between the Two entrees. We will not be going back to HHI Red Fish anytime soon.
Went with group of six ladies on Thursday night. Great service and food as always. The live music was an unexpected bonus. Look forward to next visit. Want recipe for edamame hummus.
Try to get to Red Fish once every year when in Hilton Head. My wife and I both had the special this trip, the Flounder. It was delicious with our only complaint being that the serving was too big. My wife commented that we really should have shared one fish.
There was a wine dinner going on while we had dinner, together with a live group playing great music. Made for a wonderful evening.
We ate on patio next to fireplace since our pup was with us, very relaxing and nice atmosphere. Would have been a great experience if food was good. Unfortunately it was barely at level of mediocre. We had the recommended Barramundi, Coconut Shrimp, added orders of grilled scallop, shrimp and lobster mac n cheese. Truffle oil heavy in the mac, yet every other dish was essentially bland and tasteless. Our server was great, but sadly, they need a new chef and improved recipes. Pricey. Would not go back or recommend.
Red Fish has a wonderful ambiance and we ate there two days in a row b/Co of it. Great entree, great Coconut pie!!!
Early bird menu is varied and acceptable priced. Regular servings are large.
My only objectionable comment is directed toward the dull steak knife that was provided for cutting the meat.
Service and food excelled all other dining experiences in the area. Wine selection is impressive
The food was great but we felt rushed. We were done within an hour. Wasn’t the experience we were hoping for.
Always love Wednesday evenings at Red Fish and hearing John Brackett.
We arrived on time and were promptly seated for the reservation. Our party was reduced from 6 to 4 , so we were able to get seated in the wine selection area which is our favorite location. However due to the humid weather one of the seats was located under a sweaty pipe or vent which dripped some drops. It wasn't constant but our waitress did ask us if we wanted to move or wait to see if it progressed worst. When I noticed an open table and requested it, she said it was available because it was reserved ( it had 6 seats and most likely was our original table). Dinner was their usual excellent presentation and delicious food. One small glitch, I got served fish instead of my order for beef. Not to worry I was told since I ordered it rare, it would be just a few minutes. She was correct as it came out very quickly, but it was more black and blue than rare. Didn't want to send it back because then it would be medium then. I am sure the new island residents we brought will mark this location for future dinning pleasure.
Very enjoyable dinner for my wife and me. Firecracker calamari (crispy calamari rings and cherry peppers); scallops with lobster macaroni and cheese, and crusted flounder with grits and collard greens were well prepared and delicious. Server (first day serving without support) was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Tables well spaced in the dining room and live music from the lounge filtered in nicely. Excellent value and choice by purchasing a bottle of wine from the extensive retail selection and paying a modest ($10) corking fee. Our best meal during our four days at Hilton Head. We did notice that the outside patio was very loud (both when we entered and when we left) - very different from the inside, and not what we would have enjoyed.
We go back to this restaurant year after years for the food and wine. This year there was a jazz band/ trio playing. Instead of assuming that we would want to sit close to the trio, I wish they would have asked. The noise level made it hard to talk.
