Wonderful as usual!!
Had to wait 30min even w an open table res, but Yummy!
Chris. Our server was great !
Very pleasant. Appetizers took a while and then entrees arrived too soon thereafter. Overall, though, a nice meal
Spending a few days in NOLA with friends - went to Red Fish Grill for dinner - first time here would definitely come back again - great menu choices and service.
Second annual visit for one night stay in New Orleans and dinner at Red Fish Grill. We will keep coming back for the Barbeque oysters and shrimp! Great service - casual and noisy but comfortable atmosphere.
Outstanding raw oysters and great entrees.
Overall pretty good but not great.
They split appetizers and entrees at no extra cost allowing us to eat several courses and still have room for their signature dessert
WOW! Oh WOW! Oh WOW! Incredible menu, outstanding fish selections and some of the best food we had while visiting NOLA. Highly recommended!
Great food delivered quickly despite the crowd. The wait staff were knowledgeable, friendly and fun (Thu Thuly) and made our meal that much more enjoyable. Down side was the noise level. Some sound-damping features would be very welcome.
Always good. A go back to restaurant with every visit to New Orleans.
The redfish was great.
Our waiter,Ike, was outstanding in every way.
We had an excellent dinner of grouper and red fish with some fried oysters. Vegetable accompany the meal were great. Enjoyed the strawberry shortcake for dessert
This was our fourth visit to Red Fish Grill- it has become one of the restaurants we revisit almost every trip to New Orleans because we have enjoyed every meal. The grilled fish has always been cooked to perfection, with each dish I've sampled, and we order the phenomenal bread pudding every visit. The only reason I deducted a star was for the noise level- always noisy, and THOSE people who are shouting over the noise level.
Enjoyed a small family gathering. Friendly and professional service. Great food. Our staff was very good with 2 yr old child. Have been there several times and have never been disappointed.
Service was iffy, but the food was good.
Outstanding meal and service.
Enjoyed a great evening and meal to kick off conference in NOLA!
In town for French Quarter Fest, the restaurant was totally packed but well worth the wait. Freshest fish I have had in a very long time. I ordered the Fried Whole Catfish on Crawfish Étouffée and my mom ordered the Grilled Redfish. Glad we love each other and shared. By far the best meals we had while there.
Food and service were excellent.
Two servers working not-quite together made our experience at times disjointed and unsettled. Example server #1 Michael (M) asks us about cocktails (mine was Strawberry Starburst) and I responded that I liked it. Ten seconds after M, and whilst taking sip of said cocktail, server #2 Thuy (T) asked same question - a) my mouth is full and b) that’s another disruption to our conversation. So instead of 4-6 interruptions (how is x? Do you need x? Would you like x?) we had 7-10? Some redundant some at awkward moments like mouth full. Note: I think some of this was because T seemed “in training” but I would have liked them to simply say “I’m training her so she’s with me tonight to help me serve you.” Instead, presented like we got two servers but really didn’t need or want two because of issues mentioned and also - how do you tip for that? Also, training (if that’s it?) during Friday night in a Festival week is not the best way to work out the kinks and that’s on management. I would prefer to think this was due to training. My husband thinks it’s not training, but that she knew what she was doing and it was an issue of timing.
Second issue my husband is a scotch enthusiast whose maternal grandfather came from Aberlough (spelling?) Scotland, so he has literally been drinking their scotch for 25 years and gets a bottle about once a year of their 12 year. Sooooo when he ordered some and was unable to enjoy it I asked why and he said it tasted “off” On the plus they took it off our bill when we returned it. On the minus that really put a damper on our enthusiasm for the overall experience and very good quality food.
Note the food it’s self was delicious! I had catfish and crawfish ettoufee, while husband had pompano fish in balsamic Worcester sauce and he loved it!
Always a great meal. Go every time I’m in town
We love this place greatly! We love the Barbecued Oysters as well as any of their entree's.
The food was exceptional, as was our server CJ. An excellent meal.
Great appetizers and always consistently good. Excellent service
A local recommendation!!! Love it, food was absolutely amazing!
Everything was delicious from start to finish. Definitely have the BBQ oysters, even if you think you don’t like oysters. They were AMAZING and delicious! Highly recommend that you pre-order the chocolate bread pudding. It’s worth it!
Good food, prepared well and exceptional service. However, the food was fairly basic, nothing too inventive. In addition, it was my girlfriend's birthday and the restaurant did little-to-nothing to acknowledge the milestone event.
This is always CAN NOT GO WRONG at Red Fish Grill. We went twice while we are back in New Orleans. The service and food is excellent. Have the barbecued Oysters or Shrimp! The best or and always fresh fish. The team work and organization of the staff is impressive.
You all work hard but you make us have a memorable time. Thank You.
Arrived a little early for our 7:30 reservation but were seated immediately. Almost all tables already full. Our waiter, Chris, came by almost at once. He welcomed us, gave menus and suggestions, took our drink order, and brought water and bread in span of 4 or 5 minutes. We decided on the alligator sausage gumbo to start. It was really good! Rich roux, well seasoned, and full of sausage and shrimp. Entrees were broiled snapper with lemon caper sauce and grilled redfish with sautéed crawfish topping. Both were good choices—fresh and prepared with New Orleans flair. Finished the meal with sorbets of black currant and mango. The only draw back to the evening was a nearby table of seven with two very loud women who felt everyone wanted to hear their stories. Even their companions seemed uncomfortable at times. I know restaurants have little control over such situations, but concrete hard floors, tin ceilings, and walls with no sound buffering curtains or hangings don’t help either. Just an observation on my part.
We shared the gumbo with pork & ALLIGATOR andouille sausage, it was DELISH! I had crispy grilled Redfish, which was crisp, but a tad dry. My husband LOVED his grouper special. A relaxed, comfortable place for dinner in the French Quarter!
Good food, well prepared. Attentive service
This was my second visit in a couple months to NOLA for business and I made sure to return to Red Fish Grill. The seafood is fresh and paired well for creative flavors. Also, the alligator boudin balls are so good!
I have dietary issues and they were very accommodating and the manager came out to make sure they could make it safe and to my liking!!! Excellent food, tasty, bubbly waitress. Busy! Definitely, make a reservation! Huge menu and choices!
Our overall experience was favorable. However, our waitress was unfamiliar with the wine list and was unable to assist in choosing a wine that would complement our two meals. She appeared reluctant to ask for any assistance from someone more knowledgeable.
It’s a Brennan’s. Need I say more?
Love the red fish dish. Highly recommend that meal, plus dessert..
Great food!! Excellent server! Very helpful polite and good at her job!
Do not question the choice. It is unbelievably good service and food.
