Our server Jasmine was fabulous! Great dinner for my nephews 21st birthday!
We were early, but seated right away. Table location was not great. Very close to entrance. The server was very friendly, not super knowledgeable, but pleasant and helpful. We got soup before drinks which was not ideal. I really enjoyed my alligator soup, very balanced not gamy. Entree was tasty. But I personally would have preferred a different pats. Had the double chocolate bread pudding can easily be shared. Portions were reasonable, tasty, and priced fairly. Casual atmosphere. The waitress made the meal enjoyable. Ambience was nice, a little loud, but not in a obnoxious way.
I was pleasantly surprised by the service and atmosphere of the restaurant.
Great service and food. Our Server was attentive and courteous. Food
was fresh, well prepared, and tasty.
My fish was over cooked. It was hard to cut. The edges of the fish was so hard you almost had to saw to cut it. This was the first time I had chewy fish. I did not say anything because I was there with out of town guest and did not want to disapoint them with the quality of my food.
It was a really good time.
We were finishing up our anniversary trip to New Orleans and wanted a Saturday brunch before leaving town. We checked the menu to see if there was something my gluten intolerant wife could eat and after ‘seeming’ to be the case, we made a reservation and showed up.
First the good … the Bloody Mary’s and Oysters on the half shell were great as was our server…
Everything else went downhill. There really weren’t a lot of choices and my wife picked a breakfast dish that honestly we could have gotten better at a local Denny’s and my Poboy was just ok.
Next time, we’ll need to find somewhere else for Brunch
Delicious. The chocolate bread pudding was to die for.
This was our first visit and everything was perfect. We definitely will be back.
Such a good choice for dinner! The food was fabulous and our server Chris was excellent!!!
Date night with my woman
I was really looking forward to this place, but I was disappointed. I had the El Jefe Margarita, not great. My cousin sent back the lemonade, as it wasn't to her liking. She opted for the apple sangria which she said was really good. My cousin had the jambalaya, which she said was ok. My catfish was tolerable. In all the food was not so amazing that I would tell friends that this is definitely a place to stop and eat. I would not return. The taste and presentation of the food definitely not worth the cost. Clearly catering to the fact that there are many tourists so they will always find people to eat there. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress Misty, was very sweet.
Food has definitely declined.
We love Red Fish Grill! Food was delicious, as always. Be sure to tip your wait staff well; they are working hard!!
My husband and I went to Red Fish Grill on the first night of our anniversary trip. The service was amazing. We started with the BBQ oysters, which were fantastic. I ordered the Land, Gulf and Grits which were so good I wanted to cry. My husband has the swordfish which was also very good. We finished with the double chocolate bread pudding and that was to die for. All in all, it was an excellent experience.
We had been here a couple of years before and couldn’t wait to come back. This time, the menu had changed and was smaller. Probably due to Covid. Understandable. The quality and portions were less as well, but the prices were higher. The staff and restaurant were lovely. We more than likely will skip our visit the next time through.
We had a wonderful brunch. We each tried something different and it was all delicious. Definitely will go again!
This was not my first time visiting red fish grill, in fact it was my 21st birthday this past weekend and I had such fond memories from visiting red fish two years ago that I chose to spend my birthday dinner here. I had included on the reservation that it was my birthday, not that I expected anyone to make a huge deal about it but when you see something like that on a reservation you would expect the service to AT LEAST be average. Our waiter showed up to the table, no “how are you doing” or “what brings you in tonight” simply glanced at my boyfriend and I and said he’d be right back with waters before vanishing for 10 minutes and reappearing WITHOUT our waters only to ask us what we wanted to drink and to seem upset that we did not order anything more than waters when asked. At this point both my boyfriend and I were irritated, but what really got to us was the fact that there were two other large parties seated to either side of us and our waiter was incredibly kind and personable with both parties, but hardly spent 5 minutes at our table throughout the whole meal. He didn’t bring out are apps, meal, or dessert, wouldn’t even make eye contact, and suddenly shifted his entire personality when he walked past our table as my boyfriend and I were complaining about the service and debating tipping or not. The second he heard that his tip was on the line his entire personality changed, he was engaging, sure, but it felt very very forced considering how rude and dismissive he had been throughout our meal and how little he had even attempted to do to make the evening pleasant. At this point my boyfriend and I were completely feed up, I had asked for water with lemon and got no lemon, my meal was warm, not hot, and it was my 21st birthday!!! Even though our service was horrible and my boyfriend didn’t want to, I felt guilty (I shouldn’t have) and we asked if we could use Apple Pay to tip. Our waiter proceeded to embarrass us and make a big deal out of things. Really sad.
Service was good, minimum wait between courses, and food was good as well.
Red Fish did not disappoint! One of the best meals of the weekend! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well prepared and executed gulf fresh meal.
Red Fish Grill is always a must for me when visiting NOLA. One of my favorites.
Ike is amazing he explained everything on the menu from the appetizer all the way down to the dessert. I was amazed with the food. I will be returning
Jazz brunch was delicious!
Nice people, good menu. They had a nice piano player that set the mood for a delicious brunch. The manager also checked on us a couple of times and I really appreciate that in an establishment.
Amazing service and delicious food!
Elijah was absolutely amazing!! His expertise and customer service was amazing as well! He was so bubbly and fun to be around. His knowledge of the food and drinks were on point. New Orleans owes us nothing!
Ike was out waiter. He was fantastic. Very attentive. Food was amazing. The bread pudding was amazing!!
Benjamin provided excellent service with humor and flair. The food was incredible! I highly recommend d The Peacemaker and the Crawfish Cakes with Eggs, but everything our party had was fabulous!
over-rated on yelp. not nearly as good as some other nearby restaurants
The food was phenomenal and the oyster & shrimp appetizer is a must try!
Fantastic, friendly service and amazing, fresh food! We had the filet, the catfish, the crawfish and shrimp pasta and the shrimp and grits. Everything was fresh and delicious! Try the crawfish cheesecake appetizer!!!!
Our waiter was phenomenal, food was ok, but they took FOREVER.
Wonderful food and service. The BBQ oysters were to die for! Shrimp étouffée with the pickled relish was different but DELICIOUS! Dismissed the meal with a watermelon spritzer! Will definitely come again!
Everything real good: oysters, snapper, shrimp, chopped salad….fresh hot bread, bread pudding and homemade soft serve …everything was delicious.
We always love Red Fish for fun family meals and GREAT food.
Frank was an excellent server! The BBQ oyster was amazing.
Super limited menu. Pasta was extremely undercooked. There’s a reason you could get a reservation on Fourth of July….
