Labeled as the intersection of South by Southwest the Red Drum Restaurant and Bar combines the cuisine of Texas and the hospitality of the Deep South. Offering a dining room, a patio, a pub room and a bar, guests to Red Drum can sit near the wood fireplace, dine in style under vaulted ceilings, sit near a television or enjoy the fresh air either under an umbrella or near an outdoor heater.
For dinner at Red Drum, guests are treated to a selection of bar vittles such as shrimp cocktail, hand cut chips and salsa or chicken quesadillas. Fan favorites include the market fish of the day, the wood grilled chicken breast with garlic cream and the South Carolina quail with Texas venison sausage.
Great food and service in a beautiful restaurant. And the bar look very fun!
Always delicious! This is my husband's favorite place for a good steak and southwestern food. We enjoyed a great meal for his birthday; Tristan took good care of us. (He even boxed up dessert-to-go.) Try the smoked chicken enchiladas - great spice but not too hot!
Where to begin...everything from the voodoo Bloody Mary to the Eggs Benedict, the Chicken which is always FAB...everything is wonderful. My favorite restaurant over and over again.
I love Red Drum! The food is always amazing and the service is even better than that! Great place!
We celebrated our sins engagement. The table next to us in the back room was really loud. Only issue otherwise wonderful time!
The wreck fish was superb. The bar and dining staff were helpful and excellent.
Red Drum lived up to our high expectations. A trusted friend recommended Red Drum as a great spot to celebrate my sister moving to Mt. Pleasant. It didn't disappoint!
We started with chips and salsa which made for a good introduction to the place. It included two salsas, a red one and a guac version - both really good. We struggled to find vegetarian options that appealed to my sister and our server suggested we go with a veggie plate, leaving it up to the chef to craft. It sounded good enough for both of us to try. It was excellent and will bring us back again and try more menu items. Wine selection was solid too.
Red Drum has been the best place we have tried in the Mt Pleasant area and I highly recommend it.
Our 2nd visit and the food and service was excellent . Will bring out of town guest there . Love the steaks and scallops
Food is just amazing here and comes out quicker than you would expect. Bathrooms are very nice and clean too!!
All was very good - food tasty but portion too small for the price-Bucatini with scallops and clams - 2 scallops and less than a half dozen clams not worth the price. All else was great! Will return and try other menu fare!
Food, ambiance, service. One of the best Sunday Brunch. Also, easy of booking a reservation the day before. Most places don't.
Very good restaurant and bar was there for the Sunday brunch and it was excellent. Would recommend the French Toast and the shrimp and grits
Very noisy bar which made it difficult to hear & have a conversation at our table. Food is over priced. Service was a bit slow. This was my second visit. Not in a hurry to return.
The service was not very friendly. The portions were very small. I left hungry and I am not a big eater. Our bill for lunch for 4 with only one person getting ice tea was $80.00I. I wouldn't recommend this as a good place for lunch.
The air-conditioning was not working well or not at all and despite the wonderful food and service I was miserable trying to enjoy my meal and company in the sweltering heat.
Excellent service, presentation and product. Loved the food. Ambience was nice, but a little loud. Entrees run $25-40 and up but are prepared perfectly. Fantastic service and complimentary valet as well.
Great food and service, every time we visit. Fairly expensive but worth it
AS always, Red Drum was excellent. There Brunch is always the best in town and I love those bottomless Belinis
My second time...some food was great, but the main course took 20 minutes to arrive and the cut of fish was a little tough. Everything else was top notch. Going to assume it was one off night.
Never disappoints!! Food excellent as was service. Our friends had never been and really enjoyed it and will be back.
The food and atmosphere were amazing!
I love the food at the Red Drum. The brunch is fantastic. I will continue to return there. The one thing I do not like is how loud the main dining room is. I feel like I have to yell just to be heard the whole time I am there. The food is so good that it outweighs the obnoxiously high noise levels.
Great food. Great wait staff and good ambiance. Bar staff paid was very slow to get service from and paid attention only to the regulars and were quite obvious about it.
The Food was outstanding , the best I have had at any Restaurant in Charleston.
The Noise level was Deafening, yelling across the table was not what I wanted to do.
The Air conditioning was not working well.
I had a lovely View of the refrigerator and Ice machine.
I will not be taking my wife back for our 35 th Anniversary.
The air conditioner was broken no one offered to move us or app loggers for the inconveience.
The food was just ok. The price was high .
Great restaurant, truly fresh seafood from a chef who knows what he's doing. Voted best fried shrimp, I'd agree with that along with about everything else. The complimentary valet parking made the evening that much better. Fresh, fresh, fresh.
Had a booth that was very warm and not conducive to talking. It was too large for 5 people,
Not sure I would go back. Red Drum was recommended to us by foodie friends so I was all over it!! We ordered a grilled octopus that parts were barely cooked and slimy/mushy, a grilled salmon which was tasty, and the shrimp and grits with the latin flair for my son (he was hoping for a more traditional s and g's). Dessert was a very rich and dense pecan cake. We both finished nothing yet we were were so full from the richness of our meals! As a former server for many years, I sense the restaurant has seen better days. Drink specials were nice. I also found it very expensive for what we got.
The Chicken is the best tasting thing I have ever had! Every time I go I want to try something else but I always end up getting the Chicken.
e had a group of six and could not carry on a conversation due to the noise. There must be something the restaurant can do to fix the noise level. If you were just a group of two it would probably as far as conversation but definitely not more than 2-3.
Amazing fresh food.
We have been to Red Drum a couple of times in the past. We also have recommended it to lots of people and rave about the scallops. We were very disappointed that they are no longer on the menu but are still advertised on the website and Facebook page. In fact, pretty much the entire menu has changed. The only dish available with scallops was a pasta dish which also included clams. They did leave the clams out for me, but the scallops were no where near the size as the usual ones, not as good either. The pasta was a bit too done and the sauce on it tasted as if it had cornmeal in it. Not my idea of a $30 bowl of food. The salmon my husband ordered was just ok. Nothing spectacular like the normal meals in which we order from there. The wait staff was great! Very attentive with water etc. the noise level was quite loud that night, even though the restaurant was not full. We wish we would have known about the changes before deciding to make reservations on our date night.
My husband and I were visiting the Charleston area for our 20th wedding anniversary trip. I found this restaurant online. The food was good, but the very noisy bar scene made it pretty unromantic.
Generally good, but they have placed too many tables in the dining room. The noise is beyond belief if you are are 45. Must shout at you dinner partners. Some ok, good great.
No management table touch at all.
We took my elderly in laws to the Sunday Brunch for their anniversary. The food was outstanding, great drinks, however the noise level was hard for an elderly couple. They had a real hard time hearing due to the noise carrying. I would recommend just be aware of the loudness.
Overall food is way overpriced, tables too close together so no walkways, chairs constantly getting bumped.
It was fantastic and made my Father's Day Bruch with my kids great!!
My wife and I went to Red Drum on Fathers Day for Brunch. The food was absolutely outstanding!

Always a Good Meal!
We enjoyed our meal at Red Drum. The crab appetizer was awesome and the Ref Drum Sandwich is a must to try. It was delicious.
Well reviewed, but in our experience, ambiance was off the charts in terms of noise....food was fine, but nothing outstanding to justify the costs.
