In lieu of recent closures do coronavirus, the restaurant opened for dine in after 2 months. It followed all protocols to create a safe environment.
The service was outstanding . The food was worthy of their reputation. The lamb was locally sourced and my wife felt it was the best she has had. My veal Osso Buco was fall off the bone tender . The marrow was left in the bone and could be spooned out as it should be when served right.
It was established in 1848 and Wisconsin’s oldest restaurant. It has years of history that it lives up to.
It is a 25 minute drive from my home in Brookfield WI. It is worth every minute that it takes to get too.
It has received awards from “the knot” and “Wine Spectator’s “ ‘ Awards of Excellence.
You should get there in your life time.

The restaurant went to extreme measures to make certain everyone was distanced and safe. We were very happy with the efforts put forth and the food as usual was outstanding. We witnessed the extra measures being taken to make sure everything was sanitized. A very safe place and very pleasant place to be able to visit after being stuck in our home for 2 and a half months.

So glad to be able to go out again. Our server made us feel very comfortable as we weren't sure what to expect. They look to be doing a great job and we will surely be back again.

Started with oysters rockefeller and the white beet soup. Delicious....Wife had the beef wellington and I had the braised short ribs. Both entrees were amazing. They took social distancing and safety of all to the next level. So glad they are back open. Celebrated our anniversary and the complimentary bread pudding for dessert was the ultimate finish to a fantastic meal.

We had a very tasty and enjoyable dinner. Omar did a great job serving us! just social distancing arrangement actually made it pretty nice for a quiet dinner and private conversation.

The food and drinks were excellent! I highly recommend them.

Service and ambiance were very good. Food was just ok. Nothing special and my beef Wellington was medium and the pastry wrap was burnt. Drinks were excellent.

Vicki was simply amazing. This was our second time dining with her in 4 years and she paid attention to detail and was so pleasant. I don't know about y'all but service is half the experience of a great meal. This place, these people do it right.

The dinner was very good. We got there 15 minutes early but were able to be seated right away. We knew what we were going to order before we walked in the front door have studied the menu for a week beforehand and previous experience dining there. The menu is great with unusual dishes but not “too crazy” ones - varied items which sometimes makes it difficult to choose.
The highlight of our experience was our wAitperson Mary Ann (I hoped I spelled her name correctly). She paced the meal perfectly, offered great suggestions, and was extremely personable. She made the night.
We’ll continue to talk this place up to all who will listen.

Wonderful place for a special dinner. Causal dress is fine and yet it still has a elegant atmosphere.
Everything I ordered was delicious I had the crab cakes with greens a cream based sweet potato and turnip soup, a perfectly prepared Beef Wellington and the white chocolate raspberry cake. I rolled out of the restaurant a very happy guest.

Very good food and the service was outstanding. A little to close when it came to seating. Wasn't as private as I would like, but I'm not a fan of eating in public. Overall it was an enjoyable experience .

It has been awhile since we’ve dined at the red circle inn. The updates are nice but we didn’t like the bench seating, tables too close to one another and the lighting was a little too bright.

The meal itself was excellent as always!

I guess I had higher expectations. The food was under welming. Scallops were over cooked and salty. Veal, bearnaise and potatoes were good. Both dishes had charred and undercooked vegetables. Service was just ok. The featured wines were the biggest disappointment.

We we there for Valentines Day. It was our first time dining there. Due to the holiday it was overly busy. Service was very attentive, food was good, and service was quick. We received a small complementary bottle of champagne for the evening which was a nice touch.

We have been there before, but went for Valentines day. The tables were placed so close together that is was quite difficult to have a nice conversation. You could hardly get out of the seating between the tables.

Also, the desert that was offered was supposed to be a molten lava cake, but my wife's did not have any center to it. Disappointed.

If I'm not mistaken, the Red Circle Inn & Bistro is the oldest restaurant in the State of Wisconsin. If that is indeed the case, its longevity is a testament to the high ratings it has received since its inception. While it is right in our own backyard in Lake Country, my wife and I typically travel in to Milwaukee for its varied dining fare. Perhaps no longer. We hadn't been to Red Circle Inn in over 10 years, and then it was to attend wedding receptions. We decided to get an early reservation to Red Circle Inn on Valentines Day, 2020.

We were immediately greeted and seated by what we thought might have been the restaurant's owner. We were in a dining area on the main floor, across from the bar. There might have been room in that dining area for around 50 patrons. The room was somewhat quiet and music was piped in through loudspeakers. It would have been fine had there been no music, as I am not the type of person who goes to a restaurant to hear music. Quiet is fine by me, as that allows for listening to conversation with who I am there with. There was a fireplace in the main floor dining area, but it wasn't lit. And that was a shame, as it was rather cold out that day and the warmth and light from the fire would have made for more ambience.

We decided to start with appetizers and I ordered Sea Scallops Rumaki and Crab Cakes. The Rumaki consisted of 6 sea scallops, bacon wrapped, and fried, and the plate contained a variety of greens and sauce. Throw in 6 more scallops like that and you'd have a new entree ! The Rumaki were spectacular. Same for the Crab Cakes. I ordered the wedge salad with peppercorn ranch dressing. The wedge was cold, firm, and swimming in the ranch dressing, which I love. I ordered the filet mignon and my wife ordered duck. Both dishes were prepared immaculately and good to the last bite.

Our bill with tip for appetizers, entrees, 2 wines and a soda was $171. We got way beyond what we paid for. So, why travel to Milwaukee ?

I have been to the Red Curcle frequently. My most recent visit was a birthday for a friend. Great service, nice ambiance and very good food. You can’t ask for much more. Smaller and more intimate dining room. Very nice.

Had a wonderful meal with another couple. Busy Saturday night, but waitstaff was on the ball. They made great recommendations. Entrees ordered for the four of us: one filet, a whitefish, one cedar plank salmon and one Osso Bucco. Everyone was delighted with their selection- not every restaurant can do meats and seafood so well. We split a white chocolate raspberry bread pudding for desert. Delicious! I would highly recommend!
