Terrific environment, attentive and knowledgeable servers. Were familiar with and attentive to gluten free needs of the diners. the staff are fun people to be with.
Always an excellent experience. Professional staff and excellent food. Nicely presented
Service was somewhat slow but friendly. When dinner was served, we were asked to order a souffle' if we wanted for dessert, because of 20 minute prep time. We did. They were delivered to our table 50 minutes later and 20 minutes after entrée dishes were cleared. Food was good, but not outstanding. Meat of pork trio was dry. Beef Wellington and filet were outstanding.
Great food and service - Mother’s Day brunch - dinner. 5 course dinner for less than $70 for 2
Very efficient service as well.
We went for a Mother's Day brunch. It was fantastic!
Great personal service, attentive staff. The lamb was outstanding.
Service and presentation were impeccable. I had a mango and strawberry salad which was delicious. Wanting to save room for the 20 layer strawberry crepe dessert, I had the halibut appetizer special, which was delicious. My husband enjoyed the osso bucco, but said it was on the bland side. When my dessert arrived, it was beautifully presented, but not so delicious I felt the need to finish. Usually Red Circle is a step or two above this review. We hope to return to the amazing dinner we usually enjoy.
We stopped in for small plates and were so pleased to find that they had exactly what we wanted in the "Bistro" bar side. Friendly and helpful owner, excellent service and delicious food. We cannot wait to return for lobster night!
Because this is the oldest restaurant in Wisconsin and we've known its name and reputation forever, we were sure we'd been here before. Turned out to be our first visit, but it won't be our last. Chosen for a birthday celebration, the evening was perfect--excellent service, delicious food, plenty of menu options. We left happy.
Reservations made through Open Table, with a comment that the special occasion was for a birthday. We were seated immediately. Kathryn, our waitress, was excellent. She started out by explaining the specials, and then left an iPad at our table to view the menu, which has a visual display of all entrees. We ordered a crab cakes appetizer, and cocktail before dinner. Our selected entrees were the duck and white fish. Each were excellent. Brought half home for later. Salad and rolls are served before the meal. After dinner, we had an after dinner drink and a dessert. No mention was ever made to acknowledge the birthday. Other than that one blip, it was a wonderful meal and experience. In addition to our excellent waitress, the other staff (including the hostess) chipped in whenever water glasses or coffees needed filling. They also cleared used tables and prepares them for the next diners, leaving the waitresses the time to concentrate on the seated diners. We liked the fact that everyone worked well together and things flowed so smoothly.
First time there for us. Service was great. The server (Oops forgot her name!) knew all the specials without any help of cheat sheet!Just enough service for our dining experience. Carrot cake perfect to end the night!
Great food and fantastic service. Lamb was delicious and the soufflés were wonderful. Only criticism was that the seafood sampler was a bit small considering the price.
Will definitely return
The Staff was great and the food was excellent! What a great time for all of us.
Service was great. Seating was a little cramped. Food was OK, the Beef Wellington had no flavor, the Veal Piccata was very tender. Overall a nice place but there are many better options for us.
Our meal was outstanding . The wait staff was great. Our waitress was very noligable of the menu. Two of us had the Halibut and one had a steak all three we very good. We will be back again.
We enjoyed our dinners very much and had a very relaxing time together to celebrate our anniversary. Great food, wonderful staff and a place we will definitely go back to!
Although my wife and I have eaten at Red Circle Inn in the past, we were very disappointed with one of our meals. The blacken white fish was very good. As for the duck, it was at best "fair". The meat was rubbery and very hard to chew. The meat was also very fatty and the fat had to be scraped off before being able to eat part of the duck. This is usually one of the best parts of the duck meal if cooked correctly.
Great dinner. Beef Wellington was excellent. Definitely will go back again.
I have never been anything less than delighted by service, food and ambiance. Will continue to visit regularly, bring friends and recommend. Thanks Norm & staff for another great experience.
Our Food was excellent, very hot, presentation was lovely
Staff very knowledgeable, and very helpful with portion sizing.
Helpful with seating and Special needs of the Elderly
Norm...we always enjoy coming to RCI... and this time the Quilt Cabernet was a great new treat...Regards!
The history of this restaurant is impressive. Three of us were here to celebrate a birthday. Two of us ordered the seafood starter for two to share; at $23.00 it was meager. The amount of soup in my cup didn't equal five ounces, but it was excellent. Our guest ordered a bourbon with a splash of water; it was delivered absolutely full to the brim in a martini glass (huh?) while his second, which he requested be served in a rocks glass, barely reached the 1/2-inch point on the glass. The pastry surrounding my beef Wellington was charred; the chef should be ashamed at having let that "thing" reach the table. I can only hope our server didn't realize the condition of the pastry or I would be more than a bit regretful at the generous tip she received. The dessert souffle came highly recommended by our server, so my husband and I each ordered one (because it was his birthday, his was complementary); if it's supposed to be loose, runny and tepid, they've got a winner (we've both never before had dessert souffle.) Our guest had an apple tart which he said was nice. My husband enjoyed the entire experience immensely but did reference the disparity between the portion and price of the seafood starter.
My wife and I loved everything about this place. My lamb was to die for and my wife loved her fillet.
First time there and a good experience. Liked the history of the place. Good food, great service. nice atmosphere
Our favorite place to eat when we are in the area. The food is outstanding!
Went for wife's birthday my duck was excellent crispy skin but not dried out she enjoyed her veal . We hadn't been there in years now we have been there twice in the last month worth the drive, staff is friendly and accommodating .
It was my birthday they gave me a complimentary soufle it was very good , I had the grouper it was done great , the wild rice was a little crunchy but good flavor. My boyfriend had a new York strip very good
OUTSTANDING!! The food was absolutely amazing!! Our waitress was superb. Everything exceeded our expectations. We'll certainly be back!
Service and food were outstanding. You can not go wrong with this place.
The experience was outstanding. The food was perfection; the service (Mary Ann) was superb, and the atmosphere was everything that you could want for a special dinner.
I had the filet mignon, and my wife had the white fish. Without question, it was the best steak I've had in years, and we eat out a lot.
The best recommendation I can make is we will be dining at the Red Circle Inn again soon, but this time we'll be taking our best friends with us.
A Wisconsin historical gem. If you're craving a classic dinner dish, such as Osso Buco or Beef Wellington, this is your spot. Veal Oscar was a special last night and it was out of this world. The service was excellent and the Red Circle Inn is both cozy and elegant. Dessert was on them because it was our anniversary. What a lovely evening we had. Highly recommend.
We celebrated 2 birthdays and had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
Excellent experience, friendly and great food both off the menue and specials
Red Circle Inn was fantastic. Service, atmosphere, food - everything was wonderful. Our server, Vicki helped make a memorable evening and birthday celebration.
The best food I've had in a long time. Superb! And everyone was so friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere for date night.
We’re never disappointed with the Red Circle. The food is always interesting and excellent. The service is professional and complete! The ambiance is more traditional and not hip. But, the quality is consistently high.
Always excellent food, service, & drink!!!
We were put off immediately when 5 of us entered the very crowded vestibule and were rather rudely told to move aside. Then we were seated in the most boring, windowless, ugly room. Our waters went unfilled even after asking for them to be filled. Our waitress failed to mention that the default salad dressing was a cranberry vinaigrette. It was only when taking the final person’s order that we heard about any salad dressing choices. Our waitress did nothing to engage us. C’mon, if you are charging those kind of prices, you better have great service. The meals were delicious, but we were pretty turned off by the whole experience. None of us will return.
The overall experience was very pleasant. The food was fabulous but a little bit pricey. The server Julia was fantastic. We sat in the bar which was just fantastic.
