Red Cedar Grille Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten at the Red Cedar Grille twice in the past two years. We had positive experiences both times. The service was amazing! The servers were attentive, but not annoying. They know the menu very well and can recommend items if needed. The food selections are quite varied and unique. It is always made fresh to order.
The crab cakes were fabulous. Hamburger and fries were typical. The Bavarian pork chops with mushroom gravy , pierogies and wilted greens could have been fabulous but were fried too much. Pierogies get tough when sautéed too long and the thin pork chops were just too crisp.
The service timing was good but not real friendly. I felt like the staff were robotic. I will try again since the crab cakes were so good.
It was a beautiful afternoon and we requested outdoor seating. The wait staff was very accommodating. The drinks were good - nice variety and not over priced. Everything on the menu. It was hard to choose. We ended up getting the special - which was a surf and turf. The shrimp and filet were cooked perfectly which doesn't always happen on a grill. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others.
This restaurant has innovative, well-prepared food for a variety of tastes, reasonably priced. The servers are friendly and the management is attentive. Only caveat is that the night we were there saw an infestation of gnats, which was annoying. The manager apologized and discounted our meal, so they took full responsibility. I will go back and hope they got rid of the gnats!
Update: returned and this time the gnats were mostly, but not completely, gone. Much better experience.
We will try it again, but stick to sandwiches. The menu sounds amazing, but some of the dishes fell flat (mussels in stout, tomato mozzarella salad and shrimp and crab linguini --great quality seafood, but no flavor/seasonings). The pork cutlet and short rib ravioli were excellent.
Our server was new and gluten free, so hadn't tasted anything on the menu, had no recommendations and rushed us through the entire evening, even though no one was waiting for tables.
One suggestion, dim the lights. It's a beautiful interior, but lit like a diner.
Our meal was good, but the service lacked in many ways, ordered appetizer never delivered, waiter said they burnt it, no rolls till we asked three times, no drink refills, food served same time as rolls came and then they said we can now get you the appetizer and we said no thank you. Then we ordered dessert and the wrong dessert came! We will not be back
Finally stopped in for dinner after seeing this place for some time. Nice casual place, great attentive service and the food was delicious. We had the crab bisque soup which I had to fight my kids for after they had a taste. The brisket was melt in your mouth wonderful, the crab cake sandwich was very good and the kids pizza went over wonderfully with the kids. The food was tasty, not too salty and perfectly done. In particular, the sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection and were gone in a matter of a few minutes after being delivered. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back!
