Along with seasonal offerings and specials red bar also offers a prix fix menu Sunday thru Thursday from 5:30-6:30
Its continued popularity has even prompted owner Kirk Basnight to open sister restaurant little red four years ago.

From the warm greeting from Glenn, the host, to the often interesting specials — cod with a honey glaze last night, surprisingly good — the Fine regular menu, and the professional and consistently excellent service, this is a top place to go In Southampton. There are misses (the escargots are drowned in a runny preparation that seemed dominated by tomato and had almost no garlic flavor), but not many. The Place manages to have Manhattan energy and yet feel quite Hamptons.

Horrible service. Pre-ordered the Baked Alaska and at dessert time we were told they were sold out. Our waiter said so sue us! No apology, nothing. The manager was useless. We will never, ever go back.

The ambience is the same as its always been and that’s the highlight. The food is mediocre. It’s not inexpensive. Though the waiter was excellent, the owner is ungrateful and has no sense of customer service or gratitude, and moreover has an attitude. It was classic hearing him tell the people in front of us they were late for their seating, when they had to remind him that they were waiting for a table for 35 minutes. After we were forced to sit at the bar and order over-priced wine which had not even be poured they had the audacity to tell us we had to pay at the bar and couldn’t carry the balance over to the table. And that was after they tried to weasel out of our Opentable Reservation because they brilliantly unsuccessfully tried to confirm it with the wrong number and someone we don’t know who not surprisingly didn’t confirm it. If this restaurant were in the city it would have been out of business ages ago.

Red Bar was a delicious dining experience in the town of Southampton. I had the Miso Tile fish which was great and very tasty! the seats were soft and comfortable which added to the whole dining experience.

Red Bar is a neighborhood institution - always delivering a wonderful experience. The warm atmosphere and consistent quality of the food is worth coming back for. I always seem to be there early or late avoiding the crowds that Red Bar tends to attract and am happy each time. I also love that the chef cooks within the season changing up the menu to deliver a unique dining experience each time.
