The greatest service staff in town!!!
Every need was met and a wonderful time was had by all!
We took advantage of the Buffet before the game at the Red and White wine Bistro, our growing son ate his monies worth, three times back. The buffet staff was amazing. The prepared foods keep coming and was Hot and ready to serve each time we lined up. Our server was not very organized and assumed because we were having the buffet that we needed no additional attention. We would have ordered additional drinks if she visited more often. I am in the service industry and am happy to tip a hard worker. I was a little set back when our bill arrived and a gratuity of 18% was added to our bill. There were 6 of us eating. No were on the menu or at the reception desk did they state this was policy. We consider ourselves very generous tippers, but for the three times we saw our server over the hour we were there, it was not worth $60 that was added to our invoice. That adds up to $20 per visit. She greeted us and told us to take our plates to the buffet line, second she brought us the one round of drinks we ordered and the third time was to bring us our bill. For a $350 bill i expected a little more attention. We will be back because its a great place to go before the game and not have to deal with the pregame crowds, but i hope they read this and work on their service. Between the tickets for the game, dinner and snacks and drinks during the game it was a $1600 night for us. This was a really big deal for my family. My posting will not prevent us from going in the future, but the service could be better.
Also, please consider adding PIE to your desert options. The cookies and ice cream are great, but a little bite of Apple Pie with a scoop of ice cream on top would end the evening wonderfully.
Definitely go if you can afford the cost, great way to start the evening if your going to attend a game at the Toyota center.
Overall foods was good. Even though chicken and pork foods looked so dry. They seemed like any corner restaurant food. I didn’t even get any. However, my daughter got a piece of pork and she wasn’t finished.
Environment was good and the hostess and waitress were so friendly.
Outstanding customer loved the view from the dining area, food and service was fantastic
Overall a great night out 5 stars in my book
Great variety of food and the service is terrific. Great place to eat before Rockets game.
I love this buffet. The best of any in town on selection. You can actually eat healthy here for a buffet. A little overpriced for value. My biggest complaint is the desserts and coffee. Some of us don’t drink alcohol and if you are going to charge me $5.00 for a cup of coffee, make it fresh. Frankly coffee and tea should be free. But I expect better from a Fertitta restaurant—fresh coffee and cream. Also put a microwave out there or quit over baking your famous chocolate chip cookies. They are too hard.
I am a partial season ticket holder and love this place. But it is the small things that bother me.
Steak was undercooked and selection of food was less than available on previous visits.
The staff was the greatest
This reservation was for a New Year's Eve dinner. The Rockets game began at 6 pm (one hour earlier than usual start time). Our reservation was for 7:30 pm. Our expectation was to dine and watch the second half of the game from the restaurant.
We arrived early - 7:15. Our table wasn't ready. Ok, no big deal because we were early. We were seated on time. Our waiter came to our table at 7:40 and took a drink order and delivered plates.
We could tell that the staff was already beginning to clear tables as we went for our initial course. After finishing our salad we went for a second course by 7:50 and already much of the food had been cleared. The prime rib was being carted away. We had to stop the server and ask him to cut us a piece before he took it away. We did get other meats and sides at 7:50.
All desserts (in fact all food) was completely cleared before 8:00 pm.
Our waiter, Harold, was kind enough to go back to the kitchen and bring a plate of desserts to our table.
We really feel short changed on this meal. It was our intent to have a leisurely buffet as we watched the second half of the game. Instead we had to wolf down our food as quickly as possible to try and get the second course before the food was put away. It appears to me that the Red and White Bistro is operated as if it is a Toyota Center concession stand, with the food being put away before the end of the third quarter. I am guessing that because it was New Year's Eve, the staff wanted to get away early to go to parties.
Why offer a reservation at 7:30 if the food is going to be put away before 8:00? As I said, this was a special occasion. Had we known this was going to happen we would have left Toyota Center and gone to an outside restaurant.
Our waiter, Harold tried his best for us and we appreciate that. The food was great, I just wish we had had more time to enjoy it.
We won't make this mistake again!
