   This menu is confusing and the dishes missed the mark. Very expensive for what you get. Very cozy and enjoyed the ambiance.

   Way too crowded, so excruciatingly loud your ears will be ringing when you walk outside. There are too many other places offering equally good food to waste your time and money at this place.

   Enjoyed all 5 courses including the black truffled spaghetti and the incredible foie gras! Great wine list including many French bottles. Service was just right as well!( And thanks for changing our reservation time when we couldn't make the original earlier one due to travel issues!!)

   I got a 5 course tasting dinner for 2 at the SOBE auction. I had tried to go on a few occasions but it didn't work out and the certificate was due expire on Feb 28th. So I took the train from New Haven and met my niece there for dinner. She is a vegetarian that will eat fish and allergic to mushrooms and I am allergic to coconut and prefer meat. The waiter was so accommodating and we ended up with 10 separate courses that perfectly met our likes with no need for compromise of sharing. Each course was better than the next. The presentations were artful and the flavors "popped" on your palate. We were there 2.5 hours and didn't even realize it. The depth of wine selection in quality was also beyond my expectation for this corner gem in West Village. I have recommended it to at least 10 people so far who plan to eat there within the next week!. 5 stars on all accounts. I posted pictures on facebook and still talking about the experience. Don't miss this one. Thank you SOBE for helping me discover this gem!

   My friend took my to Recette for my birthday. I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent service we received or the delicious 7 course tasting menu (which our knowledgable waiter expertly paired with great wine picks). The space combines the charm of a Greenwich Village neighborhood pub with the elegance of a more fine dining experience. I will be returning as soon as I am able.

   Food was fantastic. My GF and I had the cod fritters, fingerling potatoes, and an entrée a piece… I had the branzino and she had the tilapia. Those were all in A+ dishes. Service however was subpar. Hostess was completely clueless and somehow perplexed that we didn't want to sit next to the door on a freezing night and preffered to be seated at a completely open table for two in the middle of the restaurant. What was the most bizarre however was how that waitress kept pushing that we get multiple starters and multiple entries each… because as she put it, the sizes would be too small and unsatisfying. Do you want to be a Tapas restaurant or just a regular restaurant? Was she really suggesting we buy 4 entrées at basically $30 apiece? Very bizarre. Very curious upselling approach. Other than those two space cadets...food was good and the ambience is very warm and nice.

   After my second visit, the food and service is still amazing here. Don't miss the Salt Cod Croquettes or the Spaghetti with Shrimp. Truly unique.

   Cute little date spot in the village with cozy seating and small bar area. The staff and chef were very willing to accommodate dietary needs (unusual for a small restaurant of this caliber, especially in this neighborhood). Portions and pricing were also generous for a tasting menu featuring such diverse, quality ingredients. Inventive, fresh dishes but each one was still had a comforting feel. The deconstructed s'more was one of the best desserts I've had in New York. Will definitely go back!

    A great little restaurant in the West Village. Distinctive food. Highly recommend the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Love the personalized service. Get the deconstructed s'mores dessert. Delicious with a spicy kick.
