Went for restaurant week but both my mom and I agreed it was well worth the $$ at full price.
We sat at the bar for this second visit to Rebelle. I highly recommend bar seating if you’re a party of two. Great service and attention. The bartender and another server had excellent drink recommendations. The food was crazy good. Had scallops, ceviche, oysters. Amazing. All of it. We’ll be back!
Certainly a different vibe for SA. Food was mediocre at best. They call themselves a seafood restaurant - the seafood tower was discussing. Everything super fishy. Entrees were ok. Very loud. Couldn’t have a conversation to the person next to me. Will not return here.
Not a place for children. We were sat next to a party of 6 people with a toddler that the parents let throw toys and climb in and out if their seat. Certainly impacted our evening. Hostess should have thought about that when seating customers.
Gathered with family from out of town.
We had the restaurant week menu (8/19). The ocean chowder was delicious! Romaine wedge salad was wonderful, as always. Porcini crusted halibut was cooked perfectly and lovely in flavor, though it was difficult to taste the porcini. The scallops melted like butter in your mouth (I just wish there were more than 2). The chocolate torte was delicious and perfect for true chocolate lovers. There were inconsistencies in the torte: one had burnt hazelnuts, one had perfectly caramelized hazelnuts, one had pale (under caramelized) hazelnuts; one had a crust (brownie) so tough it was difficult to cut through, 2 had soft brownies that were easy to cut through with a spoon The caramel spread on plate was PERFECT! It was cooked to the perfect color & temperature (just before it becomes too bitter). The espresso semifreddo was DELICIOUS (not super heavy on the espresso - just enough to taste it and not so strong that it didn't offend sensitive palates) - the texture was light, creamy, & perfect! Our server, Angel, was great!
The Restaurant Week Menu was very good. We will be back!
Love this place.
really cool and funky atmosphere - this isn't your neighborhood Red Lobster! felt like we were more in some boutique spot in Vegas, let alone a hotel restaurant in downtown San Antonio. fantastic service, really great food - had the bass, halibut, shrimp, and wedge salad. all were delicious! recommend grabbing a drink before or after dinner at the bar across the hall called 'Haunt' as it's equally cool and fun.
The restaurant is beautiful and our service was great. The food was very good. It was difficult to have a conversation, due to the noise level. We were next to the kitchen with only a curtain between & the noise and loud talking coming from the kitchen was extremely loud.
We had a very delicious meal & it was even a bargain.
Because of reviews, we made a reservation with a little trepidation. We found the service to be prompt & attentive.
We were early for our reservation but on a Tuesday evening the restaurant was not too busy so we were seated promptly. The charming young hostess gave us a Tasty Tuesday special menu with two options for appetizers, entrees & dessert, which was a great surprise. We both ordered the seafood soup, porcini dusted halibut and chocolate. I also added 2 scallops which were fabulous. And we added an order of asparagus. Our food was excellent. The fish had wonderful sauce plus some tiny potatoes & mushrooms. The dessert was small but more than adequate. The specialty, Key Lime Pie, was an option but we find it too sweet.
Our waite, Angel, was very attentive although we had difficulty hearing him. But the restaurant was not loud just bad acoustics.
The couple seated next to us ordered the halibut and specified that they wanted it from the regular menu not the Tuesday menu. Had we not heard them order, we would have not known that we had smaller portions. We truly had more than enough food, in fact, we were stuffed. So even though we didn’t know before we got there, we got a really good deal and excellent food.
Finally, we were prepared for garish decor based on the past reviews. The decor was not offensive or off-putting. No it is not the elegant decor of the St. Anthony lobby. It probably appeals to a younger demographic that doesn’t like stuffy Old World elegance.
The decor was out of place. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were.great. Everyone around us ordered hamburgers and they were raw. However, I’ll comment only on what we had. We had s romantic table upstairs and our waiter was great (James ) said he would bring us bread that had just been baked. It arrived and was cold. My husband had a wedge salad that was delicious. He also had the king crab legs that were charbroiled. It was a generous portion and they were great. I ordered scallops and they were served on a bed of spinach and mashed potatoes. My entree was not lukewarm but rather completely COLD!! This infuriated me as I had heard so many good things about this restaurant. My entree could have been amazing but by it being cold it completely ruined my dining experience. I’m not sure I’ll be able to return. It has lots of hype but there are many places that are classier, more upscale and can produce in the food department. I don’t mind paying 400 plus for dinner but I’d like my meal served hot. Overall I’d say this place was typical of a hotel restaurant and just ehh.
Awesome! Just awesome!
very pricey and food only fair. I did not find value in the meal and would not dine there again
Absolutely loved it! My husband and I came for a date night and we enjoyed everything! Front desk girls were sweet, waiter was amazing and food was delicious! So pleased with everything, what a great restaurant, will be back!
Amazing experience all around! Best in San Antonio!
Scallops were showstopping!!
YES!!! It was awesome!! Great ambiance, food was excellent and Sara our waitress was superb!! Very enjoyable evening, we will be back!
A little disappointing for an anniversary dinner. Halibut first served not hot. Once corrected it was superb but the rest of the party had essentially finished their meal. Other meal selections excellent.
Seafood was outstanding. The grilled Octopus is a must. Seafood tower was shared by 2 and had enough to bring home. All around great experience, will be back!
When you go to tye best restaurant in San Antonio, ask for James. He'll be your culinary tour guide on the delicious trip through Rebelles menus.
The food is spectacular! The service is done like a good team should, and the menu always surpasses. Always.
Nice service. The ribeye was not impressive.
First of all, I was a bit disappoint to fine this restaurant was located in the St Anthony Hotel because when traveling I try to eat outside of the hotel restaurants.
However, Rebelle showed in atmosphere, quality of food and drink, and service, this is the place to go for a nice “travel casual” eatery.
Our group of four were not disappointed in the menu and specials. The seafood and steaks excellent in presentation and flavors.
This is a must try for the locals and travelers.
Excellent seafood! The best wedge salad i think ive ever had!!
The appetizers were very good. The main entrees were not that great for us. My wife order 1/2 lobster but was not told that they used cayenne in the sauce. It was too hot. My ribeye was a bit overcooked, but still tasty. Our waiter was superb. And the St. Anthony hotel is beautiful.
Food was on point on everything we ordered! From appetizer to dessert . It was beyond good! We would definitely eat here again next time we visit San Antonio.
Spectacular service with excellent food knowledge. Good recommendations, with great timing and execution
Excellent menu and wine list with an incredible evening for my guest and I. Will definitely be back.
Everything was wonderful. Service excellent as well. Our party had octopus, trout, crab cakes - all superb.
Most likely the best food I have ever eaten. Don’t go unless you want to pay a pretty penny but definitely worth the money
The menu had a great variety of choices. The actual dishes were amazing!!! Not only was the presentation beautiful the flavors were outstanding. My favorites were Oysters on the half shell with their apricot sauce, spinach soufflé and truffle sauce ( I wanted to lick the bowl) and the grilled lobster. Our server, Joshua, helped us choose great items and was extremely attentive. I will be back!!
Don’t miss the flavorful, tender East Coast oyster specials at Happy Hour, then let that be your entry point to the fantastic menu from land and sea. I love that they’ve continued the tradition of the historic hotel’s spinach pudding - a must-have for lovers of silky textures and rich truffle cream. Cocktails are always great too.
Very nice atmosphere and very good food. (Fish selection and freshness). Good wait staff, enjoyed the experience.
Angel was a terrific server. The halibut was beautifully seared and flavored. The raw oysters deep and succulent. The Cioppino was the BEST I have ever eaten!!!
Very cool restaurant! Gorgeous decor!
Ceviche was excellent, tar tar app was amazing, muscles were delicious. Wanted to drink the sauce!
Would highly recommend!
We arrived in time for happy hour where the drinks were very reasonable. The restaurant, located inside the St. Anthony Hotel is awesome. The ambience is part historical with a very modern touch. We ordered halibut and it was exceptional! The wait staff were attentive without being intrusive. An experience you should try!
One of the best seafood meals of the year so far and we live in Seattle right on the water.
The fresh east coast oysters, garden salad, surf and turf w/ lobster, wine, and our server was all fantastic.
