Reata Ratings and Reviews
food was ok, the steak not much flavor but nicely cooked..shrimp was very good, but no
sauce, needed bread rolls.........my sangria was ok, wine with 3 different fruit flavors.
all in all bit over adverage....................no parking , tried to get to desk, circled 3 times,
went to garage 4 blocks away..........probably wont go downtown again, ...........
We had reservations for my wife's birthday. I originally had reserved a table at 8:30pm but when I called they said that they could only do reservations for 4 people online, we had 6, so our reservation got pushed to 9pm. After being encouraged to show up early because we may be seated earlier, we proceeded to wait until 10pm before we were seated. Our waitress took another 30 minutes before she took our orders and we were literally the last ones to receive our food despite having ordered prior to other tables being seated after us. We finished up around 11pm. All in all, the service was terrible. The manager did give us an appetizer on the house which was appreciated but I expect that when reservations are made for a special occasion that we aren't put on the backburner if we go through the trouble of making a reservation. The food was good, the atmosphere was wonderful, everything else was needs improvement.
This place is great for date night. I would recommend sitting on the roof if it is not too cold or sit under the dome if possible. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The hostesses were all very nice and professional. The drinks were made strong. The food was great. If you have too much to drink there are plenty of hotels downtown within a 5 minute walk. Overall, I'd come back.
Jon the waiter is fantastic, had to say that before I forgot.
Anyway first visit. After reading reviews did not know what to expect.
1. So I figured out it is a cowboy steak house. No not a bob, del, or Chris.
This place has its own taste and style, and it is great.
2. Sat on the first level roof patio. I think the trick to a patio seat is get there at 5 with a reservation. Good View nice to be outside without people walking by looking at you
3. I had char rib eye and other had chicken fried steak, with grits
All fantastic, especially the chicken fried steak.
Had bacon wrapped shrimp, comes with ranch, not sure how some cocktail sauce would do??
The biscuits were fantastic, only gripe is they were not warm.
Everything had its own flavor, which was nice
Did not try dessert, to full
Will be back for sure!!! This is a neat different flavored restaurant
Oh and did I say Jon gave fantastic service!!!
Really missed the pickled jalapeño on the elk sausage appetizer. The grits were luke warm at best. Had to send my steak back. We ordered it med rare, plus. It was very rare. When it came back it was almost well done. :-(
Reata was always our go-to restaurant when we drive 60+ miles .,,,sad to say, maybe it’s time to try some thing new.
We had reservations at 6:15 and tickets to Four Day Weekend at 7:30 (same building). We arrived early at 6:00 just to make sure we had time for dinner and we were seated upon arrival.
Our beverage order and dinner order was taken in a timely manner. Dinner took forever...manager came to our table and apologized, waiter said kitchen had issues. The two tables next to us arrived after us and left before us. Needless to say when we made it to Four Day Weekend there were not four seats available for us so we left. $100 in tickets for show went to waste. Dinner was not a good experience.
The tamales were an excellent start to a wonderful lunch with my family. We tasted each other’s meals and there wasn’t a bad dish. The enchiladas were the best I’ve ever had, and the chicken fried steak was perfect. The waitstaff was professional and accommodating. Be sure and save room for dessert!
Our server was awesome but the food was mediocre. This restaurant had been recommended and I came with expectations that it would be a great dining experience. I had the fish and it was def not their specialty. I was hosting a friend from France and was sad to take him to eat at a restaurant that was under par for Dallas/Fort worth dining. Did not match the $$$
Nick was a great server. Just starting out there , but great personality and service , very knowledgeable of the menu. Food was good- my bone in ribeye was not worth the $48.00 price that is expected at top end premium steak houses as it was very fatty- more so than any premium ribeye should be.
Reata is one of my husband's and mine favorite Fort Worth dinner dates! The service is always amazing and the food does not disappoint. We had the Elk Sausage with grits and the Carne Asada. The Carne Asada was tender and flavorful, the accompanied cheese enchiladas were on point, and the sausage/grits combo was balanced perfectly between sweet and savory!
