Reata Ratings and Reviews
Tyler was an excellent waiter. Did not rush us at all. Made it a very special occasion. Every staff member that came to the table treated us like a celebrity. The steak and enchiladas are one of the best meals we have ever had. Unfortunately no room for dessert! Had to lick the plate clean.
5/5. Would come back. Again.
We are fairly new to this area and we have been wanting to try The Reagan for dinner so I made reservations for my husbands birthday. We loved the whole experience, our table was the best, our waitress was perfect and the food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back.
Food was very good - big portions. Service seemed rushed. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to enjoy a casual dinner. They asked for our drink , appetizer and dinner preferences. Drinks came out first then within minutes appetizer was delivered and within 6-7 minutes the main course showed up. Felt like we were being rushed through our meal so the table could be cleared and the. Ext party seated. Wasn’t the most relaxing dining experience.
My husband and I went for his birthday we hadn't been in years but it was awesome as we remembered. The dishes are delicious and real Texas sized portions. They had tons of specialty drinks and wines to choose from. To top it off there desserts were so hard to chose between because they all looked amazing. You won't be sorry if you choose to dine here.
Peppered Tenderloin with port wine sauce was one of the best I have had in a while, mashed potatoes paired well with it. Waiter was knowledgeable and shared his favorites with us and we chose a few of his suggestions and were not disappointed. Bread pudding tamale was rich and was a perfect end to our meal. The drinks are strong and we very much enjoyed this as a date spot.
Not our first time here. Went for my husbands birthday. Everyone greeted him with a Happy Birthday, and he was given a card signed by the staff at the end of our meal. Food, as always, was outstanding! Their Blackened Buffalo Ribeye should be on your bucket list, and their cobbler was Cherry with Bourbon sauce, mmmmmmmm.
Normally we love Reata's, but the New Years Eve experience deviates from the normally fine dining. It seems they want you in and out in an hour. Our total dining time was 1 1/2 hours. This is the amount of time expected for a $100 per person meal. Our entrees were not hot, and the steak was tough. The NYE menu could have been better. We'll still eat there, just not on a night with a limited menu, and limited time. We eat at Reata's, Del Frisco's, and Capital Grill 3 - 4 times a year at each, so we know what to expect.
In spite of the temperature being 25 degrees on New Year’s Eve, we had a good time at Reata. It was a fixed menu that night: Their famaour tamale appetizer was wonderful, the lobster bisque was extremely good, the filet minon with BBQ sauce was average and the two desserts (creme brûlée & bread pudding) were both good. The highlight of our evening was our server, Zachary. He was attentive, but not overbearing, knowledgeable of the food and wine selections and overall, he made the experience at Reata a good one. My advice is definitely give Reata a try when their whole menu is available and ask the hostess to seat you in Zach’s section.
Food and table service were great as per usual. Service at front desk, however, was not up to usual efficiency. We arrived early but were asked to wait; they verified my cell which they promised to call when our table was ready. Instead of calling my cell phone when the table was ready, they called our home phone! We would not have been seated if we hadn't checked to see what the delay was; they were not a bit apologetic. Front desk is usually much more efficient.
