   Such a fun venue and great experience! Old school Fort Worth at its best. The Elk Sausage is the best appetizer ever!

   We go at lrast once a year for lunch befofore the Rodeo. This year was outstanding mostly because our server Tatiana was exceptiuonal! The foor was the same good food we have come to expect and the cocltails were great. We will try and come up again during the Rodeo.

   We had the special which was a tenderloin steak. I asked for medium and the steak was way over cooked. It was well done if not past well well done.

   Perfect place to eat during the rodeo, or before/after a show! We loved seeing the riders rehearsing!

   This is the second year in a row we’ve had dinner at Reata’s Backstage before attending the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. We order the onion rings and bacon wrapped shrimp for our appetizers. The wrapped shrimp seemed like they were cooked hours before they were served to us. The onion rings were good, I’d give them a 4 out of 5. We both had the tenderloin tacos. The were filled with fat, it seemed like they were prepared hours prior and the fat from the meat congealed in the taco. My wife and I unwrapped the tacos and ate the meat while separating the globs of fat. We were both pretty disappointed. We most likely won’t make reservations here again for any event. It’s really sad because the location is very historic. The service was pretty good, no issues. One other observation, as we were leaving, we noticed many other patrons not eating their dinner…a few bites and they were done. So, I’m not sure if it was just us or others as well.

    We arrived at 8:08 PM for our 8:00 PM reservation, only to be told the kitchen closed at 8:00 and we had to order immediately. My partner brought in a beer from the arena downstairs, and the hostess rudely told him that she will MAKE him drink it as its not allowed in the restaurant. Frustrated, we decided to leave but spoke with the manager, Tommy (or Tony), first. He couldn’t explain why they accept 8:00 PM reservations if the kitchen closes at the same time. The managers attitude was the same as the staff's, dismissive and disrespectful. We will not be returning

    Hi Reyna, I apologize for all of the confusion. We do not close at 8pm, we stop seating at 8pm. However many nights, we do not have any 7:30-8pm reservations, so at 8:15, the kitchen closes due to lack of guests. This is a complete error in training and education and I want you to know we take it seriously. Our hostess is brand new and was not trained properly and we will correct it immediately.
