Enjoyable for sure . We sat outside , quiet place . My hubby had the chili rellenos which were delicious. Didn’t try dessert but next time .
We have eaten at Reata before & had excellent food and service but not this time. Very slow service and food was sub-par. They substituted our sides without asking what we would like and ended up getting something that we did not eat. Disappointed!
The chicken fried chicken was tender and yummy, as well as the cheesy jalapeño grits. My parents ordered the mashed potatoes and asparagus. The asparagus was chewy and the potatoes were bland. Overall I enjoyed my meal. The ambience is great for the little town.
Lovely patio for outside dining. Very good food and drinks.
Arrived just before they opened. There were a few other people waiting out front. Right at 5:00, they opened the doors. We were seated immediately and had the small room to ourselves for several minutes. Food was incredible. Service was great. The manager came around and checked in on us. Overall, it was a great experience. Wonderful dinner!
We were outside until the flies drove us in. We carried our own plates and glasses, staff offered minimal help - someone did hold the door open. The tortilla soup was bland, the chili relleno was gooey with cheese, but edible. A dinner salad came with a surprise load of dirt or some kind of sand or grit. The waitress asked if everything was good, we reported, well, except for the dirt in the salad. Instead of expressing any kind of concern this person summoned another employee, who brought to the table a plate of lettuce that she said did not have dirt in it - because they wash the lettuce. I guess this was to prove that the customer who reported dirt in the salad she was served by this fine establishment must be wrong. We felt like we were bothering the staff, will never go back, Reata is surely happy about that. They did take the soup off the bill, and they didn't charge extra for the dirt.
Husband described his chicken Alfredo as “pretty bad”. My carne asada and cheese enchiladas were very tasty, different than anything I have had before. Drinks were good. Buttermilk pecan pie fell flat for both of us. Not up to par with what I expected from Reata.
The food and service was good. We ate outside on a nice patio in the shade, however, there were a lot of flies which made it difficult to enjoy the lunch.
Salad was served on a hot plate we ordered tortilla soup didn’t get it till often our main course. Usually out experience is great to so this time around
Amazing experience. Food is excellent. Will definitely return.
The food was absolutely amazing. Good portion size and very fresh. Loved it!
Birthday dinner during Covid. Our service was excellent and the food was top notch. I am very particular about the quality and cooking of my steaks and this was one of the best tasting steaks I have had.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday at the Reata. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated immediately. We were thoroughly spoiled by our awesome server Taylor. She made the evening even more special. The food was second to none....we hope to be able to revisit in the future. Thank you to all!
It was our first time there.
The food was delicious and service was excellent.
Nice environment, great service , really good food
We love Reata in Ft. Worth, and the Alpine location is just as wonderful! We try to eat here every time we’re on this side of Texas. Everything is delicious, so we always end up ordering too much, but we’re never mad about it! They did a great job of social distancing tables in the restaurant, and we felt super safe during covid.
Reata Restaurant is a must see when in Alpine! The food and service were exceptional! Our server, Dania, was polite, attentive, and made sure we enjoyed our experience. I highly recommend this place!
Reata in Alpine is one of my favorite places to venture to! We live a bit far to make it an everyday meal venture but go as often as we can! My family is always treated wonderfully and the food is always amazing! We had special dining needs that were very well accommodated. Atmosphere both inside and out is cozy, interesting and inviting! The use of nature in the decor interior and exterior is gorgeous! The furniture was chosen and crafted with though especially on the front deck! You have to see and experience it to know the wonder that is Reata! I will also say that their Dallas location both main and at the stock yards is magnificent and takes care of us often as well! Love this place and the people!
Easily the best choice in Alpine and surrounding area except maybe the 12 Gage in Marathon
Great meal and a very nice experience! Would recommend the Riata.
Great food , great service Were enjoy eating here every time we’re in town !
The staff was very thoughtful and helpful. Food was great!
This is the place to go for great food. We travel out to West Texas once a year from Arkansas and we have to eat at Reata. Their steaks are excellent and the sides are to wonderful. The sides are served family style so you can get a couple and share. My favorite thing to get is beef tenderloin with bacon wrapped asparagus as a appitizer. My husband always gets the Carne Asada. We are never disappointed.
Chilli Relanos - mushy and tasteless
Good food as always. Can't wait till they bring back their full menu again!!
Danielle was a GREAT server, we really enjoyed spending time together.
Food was great, patio seating was perfect and we will be back (hopefully someday soon).
we highly recommend.
They food was absolutely awful!
We have been dining at the Reata for years in Alpine and Fort Worth, but it’s last experience with the Alpine restaurant was not good. Our beans we still hard, way undercooked , our enchiladas were literally a corn tortilla with cheese that had been microwaved
They weren’t enchiladas at all. Our steak and plate along with our enchiladas were so covered in a bitter chili sauce they were not edible.
We called attention to the waitress and she said she’d have to talk to the manager to see if there were changes to their recipes and also informed us they didn’t have a actual Chef that night.
It was the most disappointed we have ever been in the Reata, and we always look so forward to our date night while we are in Alpine.
Great dining for a couple or a family. Even better place to take out-of-town guests. The entres are large, so be prepared to ask for a to-go box; and always save enough room for dessert, even if it is just one surviving to share. We wait staff knows the menu well. Don't hesitate to ask them for their recommendations.
They really went out of their way to make our experience special.
Wonderful food and great wait staff! Easy to make reservations online. Tables spaced 6 feet apart.
Most happy to see all the staff at Reata follow CDC guidelines during these stressful times. Went for lunch and food was excellent; best steak I've had in many years. Staff was always attentive and helpful. 5 stars!
The tamale appetizer was the best tamale I’ve ever had - and I’ve had a lot of tamales in my day. The citrus crusted chicken and the carne asada enchiladas were also amazing. We shared everything and couldn’t eat but maybe half the food. The only sad thing was the oven wasn’t working so we didn’t get to try the buttermilk pecan pie. Maybe next time!
We sat outside, service was quick, responsive. My first visit to Reata and the food was great!!!! Wait staff was pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
we have eaten here before and had a wonderful experience and we love Reata on Sundance Square. So we thought we would take the opportunity to go back. Wrong thought. We might have had a better experience at Chili's. While the staff was very pleasant it was obviously the second or third string. We both had the ribeye and honestly while it was edible, it was just the same "on sale" ribeye I can pickup at any supermarket and was pan fried. Nothing about the meal set it apart as a good meal.
We sent our Manhattans back ( we almost never send food back)as we are not sure what they served us but it was horrid. The second attempt was not much better - resorted to wine. Go read a bartenders guide!
No Cowboy cooking there I guess. Not the Reata we know and love and not worth the price. The place nexy door was jumping we should have gone there.
So happy that Reata is open again in Alpine. I really enjoyed my steak. My only problem is that they had a shiny blue tarp, instead of a door, to cover a passageway off the front dining room.
Our food was delicious and our server was very attentive. We will be back.
Our waitress was GREAT! Loved the patio too. The appetizer (tamales) was the only thing we enjoyed and was delicious and very beautifully plated. I ordered the Salmon which was over cooked, the rice was inedible because it was chewy and just tasted horrible. The veggies that came with my salmon were can green beans and corn, which I like to eat at home not a nice restaurant. I don't recommend eating here.
Definitely order the sour cream chicken enchiladas! Too bad, the beans and the rice were to spicy to eat, though
Disgusting, Tyson Services type food that is way overpriced. Worse meal we’ve had in a long time. Save your money
A disappointment. 4 of us ordered the prime rib. Not very good pieces of meat and oddly, none were seasoned. The salads appeared to be undressed. Upon further investigation, there was dressing on the plate. Not a preparation I’ve seen before and not one if recommend.
On the positive side, the chicken fried chicken was very good as were the frozen peas and carrots. They were both perfectly seasoned. Sadly the mashed potatoes and the cream gravy were not. The Calamari was excellent and the wine list well balanced and all very reasonably priced.
The Molton cake was good but the strawberries were frozen.
We had a superb meal here just a year ago and an excellent meal at the Ft Worth location.
Next time we’ll take advantage of the other good options
