Reata Restaurant - Alpine
Great meal and a very nice experience! Would recommend the Riata.
Great food , great service Were enjoy eating here every time we’re in town !
The staff was very thoughtful and helpful. Food was great!
This is the place to go for great food. We travel out to West Texas once a year from Arkansas and we have to eat at Reata. Their steaks are excellent and the sides are to wonderful. The sides are served family style so you can get a couple and share. My favorite thing to get is beef tenderloin with bacon wrapped asparagus as a appitizer. My husband always gets the Carne Asada. We are never disappointed.
Chilli Relanos - mushy and tasteless
Good food as always. Can't wait till they bring back their full menu again!!
Danielle was a GREAT server, we really enjoyed spending time together.
Food was great, patio seating was perfect and we will be back (hopefully someday soon).
we highly recommend.
They food was absolutely awful!
We have been dining at the Reata for years in Alpine and Fort Worth, but it’s last experience with the Alpine restaurant was not good. Our beans we still hard, way undercooked , our enchiladas were literally a corn tortilla with cheese that had been microwaved
They weren’t enchiladas at all. Our steak and plate along with our enchiladas were so covered in a bitter chili sauce they were not edible.
We called attention to the waitress and she said she’d have to talk to the manager to see if there were changes to their recipes and also informed us they didn’t have a actual Chef that night.
It was the most disappointed we have ever been in the Reata, and we always look so forward to our date night while we are in Alpine.
Great dining for a couple or a family. Even better place to take out-of-town guests. The entres are large, so be prepared to ask for a to-go box; and always save enough room for dessert, even if it is just one surviving to share. We wait staff knows the menu well. Don't hesitate to ask them for their recommendations.
They really went out of their way to make our experience special.
Wonderful food and great wait staff! Easy to make reservations online. Tables spaced 6 feet apart.
Most happy to see all the staff at Reata follow CDC guidelines during these stressful times. Went for lunch and food was excellent; best steak I've had in many years. Staff was always attentive and helpful. 5 stars!
The tamale appetizer was the best tamale I’ve ever had - and I’ve had a lot of tamales in my day. The citrus crusted chicken and the carne asada enchiladas were also amazing. We shared everything and couldn’t eat but maybe half the food. The only sad thing was the oven wasn’t working so we didn’t get to try the buttermilk pecan pie. Maybe next time!
We sat outside, service was quick, responsive. My first visit to Reata and the food was great!!!! Wait staff was pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
we have eaten here before and had a wonderful experience and we love Reata on Sundance Square. So we thought we would take the opportunity to go back. Wrong thought. We might have had a better experience at Chili's. While the staff was very pleasant it was obviously the second or third string. We both had the ribeye and honestly while it was edible, it was just the same "on sale" ribeye I can pickup at any supermarket and was pan fried. Nothing about the meal set it apart as a good meal.
We sent our Manhattans back ( we almost never send food back)as we are not sure what they served us but it was horrid. The second attempt was not much better - resorted to wine. Go read a bartenders guide!
No Cowboy cooking there I guess. Not the Reata we know and love and not worth the price. The place nexy door was jumping we should have gone there.
So happy that Reata is open again in Alpine. I really enjoyed my steak. My only problem is that they had a shiny blue tarp, instead of a door, to cover a passageway off the front dining room.
Our food was delicious and our server was very attentive. We will be back.
Our waitress was GREAT! Loved the patio too. The appetizer (tamales) was the only thing we enjoyed and was delicious and very beautifully plated. I ordered the Salmon which was over cooked, the rice was inedible because it was chewy and just tasted horrible. The veggies that came with my salmon were can green beans and corn, which I like to eat at home not a nice restaurant. I don't recommend eating here.
Definitely order the sour cream chicken enchiladas! Too bad, the beans and the rice were to spicy to eat, though
Disgusting, Tyson Services type food that is way overpriced. Worse meal we’ve had in a long time. Save your money
A disappointment. 4 of us ordered the prime rib. Not very good pieces of meat and oddly, none were seasoned. The salads appeared to be undressed. Upon further investigation, there was dressing on the plate. Not a preparation I’ve seen before and not one if recommend.
On the positive side, the chicken fried chicken was very good as were the frozen peas and carrots. They were both perfectly seasoned. Sadly the mashed potatoes and the cream gravy were not. The Calamari was excellent and the wine list well balanced and all very reasonably priced.
The Molton cake was good but the strawberries were frozen.
We had a superb meal here just a year ago and an excellent meal at the Ft Worth location.
Next time we’ll take advantage of the other good options
The steaks were undercooked and tough. Beautiful restaurant with great service. Very nice and responsive staff. The food was marginal and the prices were on the high side. Needs work in the kitchen.
We have eaten here on several occasions in the past and it has been great. This time was a different story. Steaks were tough and flavorless. Calf fries were under cooked and cold inside. Wait staff was mediocre at best. Drinks were way over priced. $38 for 2 double bourbons one with diet coke and one with water. These were served in small tumblers. We ate at Spicewood the next night and the cost was $40 less better food and service. We will not be returning to Reata.
Excellent food and service... Worthy of a return visit.
Nice restaurant, great service. I had the steak that is listed as one of their signature items for dinner, it was average. The steak was overcooked and the spices were bland. It came with steamed yellow squash that was overcooked also. Two others at my table had the pasta dish, one with chicken and one with shrimp, both said it was excellent. Overall, a very good place to eat when in Alpine.
Clear fork cherry vodka limeade was amazing, as was my blue margarita, it was sweeter which I prefer. The taco soup was delicious & served very neat. The seasonal pasta was delicious with excellent flavor, however the bread was lacking compared to the quality of everything else. The honey mustard chicken was very good l loved the smashed potatoes that came with it and the green beans were seasoned great.
My mom and I enjoyed our meal very much, excellent service and ambiance! I cannot remember our waitress name. My mom accidentally left her credit card. We discovered this several hours later and as we were long gone, called the restaurant and the manager verified the information and said she was cutting up at that moment as we requested. We appreciated the professionalism. We'll be back!!!!!
The food was fabulous as always. The entire restaurant was a bit chilly, though. Overall, a good experience.
Just a weekend in Alpine with friends. The Reata is always on our agenda.
This is my favorite restaurant in Alpine! Food, atmosphere and ambiance is great! Perfect place for a date night or supper with friends. Although make sure you have reservations this place is always busy. I love the little things that separate this from other similar restuarants. Try the Tortilla soup, and they make it at the table! I have not had a bad item on the menu and nor has my wife! Enjoy what you get but certain items are a bit more pricey but worth every penny. Portions are large and you get good value for what you pay.
We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and it was excellent. I highly recommend it if anywhere near Alpine Texas.
Nice place in this small town. Service was not what I expected for the prices. Maybe dinner would be a better barometer. We ordered calf fries, and I think they were a little under cooked.
An outstanding spot in Alpine! Fabulous food and service, a real gem. Stopped in for lunch but will be back for dinner again! It was delicious and felt very true to West Texas. Would recommend to anyone who wants to have an excellent meal and a great time.
Reata Alpine is a terrific place to enjoy a date night or special occasion with friends and family! Unique menu offerings in a cozy rustic vintage home. We love the staff always friendly and welcoming.
We have eaten at the Reata many times in the past and have found it to be a great place to dine. However this time we were disappointed. The service was not as good as usual and the meal was not up to snuff. I had the 14 ounce ribeye, medium well. It was very thin and full of gristle and did not have the excellent taste of past times. My wife had the Tenderloin Medallions and she said they were really excellent. So this was a split decision but overall I felt like the Reata has slipped since the last time we ate there.
Great food good menu. Service fair. Noise not good.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We had reservations but had to change our arrival time. This posed no problems and they were ready when we arrived. It was close to closing time but that didn’t phase anyone. Our food was great. The service was great. We will definitely eat there the next time we are in town.
We were traveling through town and found this restaurant. The food was delicious and we easily shared a order of their chicken fried chicken between the two of us.
The meal and service was excellent. Glad that we had reservations.
