Real Sports Bar & Grill is a casual lounge restaurant in Ottawa. This place is all about relaxation, friends, sports and a good time. It's modern and chic, with a few enormous screens around the bar to show the biggest games live. Every seat in the house, including the upstairs mezzanine seating, has a view of the main TV screen. Guests can enjoy this as a great setting for camaraderie or light rivalry during the biggest sporting seasons throughout the year.
Classic American bar food is served at the Real Sports Bar & Grill. Favorites like burgers, wings, nachos, ribs, fries and calamari are all served and enjoyed by guests. The full-service bar offers a plethora of international beers, cocktails and fine spirits with a few wine options thrown in as well. Real Sports Bar & Grill is a nice place to lounge with a good meal and the game.
Quality experience. Server was great and the reservation was sound, with no problems.
the BIG projection screen was disappointing, it was yellow and not very clear. we moved tables and watched the game on the smaller TVs.
I was disappointed that they switched NFL Game: Eagles vs Cowboys to smaller screens, & showed a stupid meaningless Hockey Game on the Largest Screen when I advised them in advance of the date that that was the Event we were there to watch.
Well, for starters, our OpenTable reservation was not immediately available. We were made to wait in the middle of the bar while they figured out just where they wanted to put us. Then we were sitting around for at least 20 minutes before a server acknowledged us, and it took another further 20 minutes to get our drinks.
They seemed genuinely unprepared for the number of people in the place, which is odd because it's really the only sports bar in The Market. We ordered our food and then were informed 10 minutes later that they were out of wings. It was wing night, and the Blue Jays game NLCS Game 3 was on, so they ought to have known they'd be busy.
Our food then arrived in several waves, with some of our party getting served way before others. My food (Nachos and lettuce wraps split with a friend) took at least 45 minutes to show up. The nachos were cold and soggy. The lettuce wraps were actually very tasty.
We gave up after unsuccessfully trying to order a third beer and watched the rest of the game elsewhere.
Easy to book reservations !! Atmosphere is pretty amazing. Lots to see and watch.
Service was pretty slow. Waited awhile for drinks, the food and the bills ,, not impressed with that
We loved the atmosphere of Real Sports, we went to get dinner and watch the hockey game and it was very energetic. Unfortunatly for us the service was slow, we waited 25 min after receiving our drinks to order our food. On the other hand the food tasted amazing when it came. We are planning to go back. We are hoping that the slow service was a one time thing.
Out with the guys after a long motorcycle ride. Watched The Jays playoff game. Perfect.
I was hosting a team of 6 from out of town for dinner after a two day training session - when I saw RealSports I went towards it as I have been to the Toronto location well, and there was a hockey game.
I had to order 4 different bottles of red wine till you had one in stock, the waitress clearly had no clue on how to open a bottle of red wine - the next waitress told me how she was in fine dining, but clearly (through my 20 years of eating at high end restaurants, and good casual dining) she did not - it was hardly basic wine skills.
We made the best of it, but I was very disappointed.....we didn't come back the next night.
Amazing server!
This was a good sports bar. The right games on the right televisions, noise level was acceptable, food fine, beer really good. The server was inattentive though, that is the only downside.
Excellent venue to watch a special event - in this case, the final concert by the Tragically Hip - but don't go for the food. Quality and variety on the menu have diminished significantly since opening a couple of years ago, and the beer list, once impressive, is now almost exclusively standard corporate brewing fare. OK service, nice room, reasonable prices, but not a great meal.
our server was outstanding!! Best service we had while in Ottawa!
It was great. C. C cc. Hsbdhsbhshsbshsbshdbhshsjsnshsbsbbsbsbsbshsbsbdbsbsbdbdbdbdbdv
Perfect for getting together with friends. Good beer variety and food.
The food is good. Wings are pricey but great tasting and a good size. Nachos are horrible. Half of the chips had nothing on it so it really could have all fit on a small plate. Soup is good as are the burgers. Drinks can be pricey but are good. Lots on tap too.
Service is great and prompt.
Only thing I didn't like is that although we had a reservation we still got relegated to bar stools upstairs in a back corner watching it on the TV in the bar instead of a big screen. The atmosphere was still good though. We just weren't sitting it very comfy chairs.
We were just in town to pick up our daughter from University and needed somewhere to eat and also catch the Raptors 2nd playoff game. Natalie our server was great at helping us to pick the perfect menu items. The popcorn chicken was amazing, right amount of spices and nothing but chichen, no fillers here. Also the perfect place to take in the game.
Always like it here - lots of good food for a good price and the atmosphere is great for a casual meal watching sports. Servers were very good as well.
Service was great. Waitress had a lot of energy and made good conversation. The food was really good. The music was REALLY loud! If you like good tunes blasting, definitely a good spot.
This was my first time at Real Sports in Ottawa. Made a reservation on-line on the day of, and no issues when I arrived. Very neat locale, good ambiance. Our server - Sabrina - was polite, casual, and fun - a perfect fit for the type of place this is. She recommended the turkey burger and it was very good.
I was surprised to receive an email saying there was a 2 hr time limit per reservation, luckily this was not a busy night surprisingly with the Leafs in town vs the Sens, but we were able to stay to watch the end of the game.
Overall a good night, and alot of food for the money. Definitely a loud place playing music at commercial breaks and between plays.
Loved everything (especially the fish tacos - AMAZING) except the stools were very uncomfortable for watching a full hockey game. You can't rest back and your knees hurt after a while. A foot bar under the table itself would've helped that.
Open table booking worked great, assigned table straight away. Order a draft which was flat, waitress informed me they had problems with their taps (don't offer it then). Food was good and service was prompt. Great atmosphere with NFL playoffs and Sens game on tvs!
We found that most of the servers seemed unhappy and the food was terrible with small quantities. I would not go there again to eat only to watch sports.
Great night out! Awesome food and great atmosphere.
I went with 3 of my friends and we all got the same order (it was a special on for burgers on sunday) but all the burgers were over cooked. We told our waitress, although i felt she wasn't understanding, she told the manager, he came and replaced our meals. Amazing service from the manager! The waitresses can be a little more understanding i thought and barely asked if we needed anything after the meal was delivered. All in all it was good!
By far, the best dining experience I've had in a long time. Came from out of town to watch the Jays, and despite the bar being extremely busy-our waitress was very attentive. We were there for over 4 hours. Never waited for drinks to be replenished, nor did we have to ask for anything. Great food, great service! We will definitely return!
waited over an hour for appetizer to come to realize it was not what we ordered. Had to wait another half hour for our original appetizer to come out and another half hour for our main dishes to come out. Dining experience lasted almost 4 hours. Service was okay, but often left scrambling looking for waitress.
friendly staff -- GREAT wait staff -- accommodating to needs, over and above and beyond. what one would expect at a sports bar . . . and a little more.
Great ambiance, sound on the game...great wings! Our server was knowledgable and friendly, and we ordered gluten-free wings. Will definitely go back!
I've been here now three times, all for specific sporting events, and all 3 times I have had issues. Working in the industry, I understand and appreciate the workings of a restaurant, but all the staff there seem to try and make excuses as to why they can't help. I have always made reservations for this place as I know it gets quite busy, and in the past, I have always been shoved in a corner with the only view of a tv being restricted or pointed at the smallest tv in the place, so this most recent time I had made specific requests as to where we wanted to sit. When I showed up for my reservation i was escorted to one of the worst tables in the place, where only 1 seat was facing the big screen.I quickly asked the hostess to move us, where I was given nothing but attitude and told that requests for seats are not guaranteed. When I looked around the restaurant there were plenty of booths available that did not have a reserved sign and I asked to be moved to one of those, but was then told by a manager that those booths were in fact reserved for other parties with REQUESTS that they were honoring. I was less than impressed to say the least. Service is incredibly slow. Our server was friendly (i'll give her that) however did not know how to split some of our food in half to separate bills. After waiting around for 20 minutes to try and find our server to get our bills, I gave up and asked another server to print them, and she acted as if I was asking her to kill her youngest sibling, and was then given another excuse as to why she couldn't help me.The worst part is that people go there to watch sports, not be in a night club. In my opinion it is incredibly annoying to be switching back and forth between dj techno music and the sports game during commercials. Bring the DJ in after the game if you want to be a night club, but leave the sound on the tv throughout the whole broadcast. I'd rather listen to the Mcdonald's commercial on tv then the garbage he was playing.
After we were seated, nobody approached our table for 20 minutes. II spoke to the manager and he did apologize. It bothers me that we waited 20 minutes and still spent over $400 that night and no accommodation was made. I was at 3 Brewers and waited 10 minutes and received free food and beer without asking for anything.
It is a great sports bar with a huge screen, great atmosphere and good service... But the food was terrible. The worst wings ever... Extremely dry and stringy. The arugula caprice salad had no Flavor. We had a separate table for kids and the servers were very good with them, thank you for that. This is a good place just for a beer and game.
awesome place!! great service!!! loved the staff, food and drinks!! there's a TV anywhere you can imagine so anywhere you are you will not miss a thing
Overall a great visit but we had a server who was doing both bar and tables and often service wasn't as fast as having a server. The attention to details like a cracked glass, ketchup was missed as he was multitasking bar and table guests. But view of sports an ambiance excellent! Great table, seems every time I reserve using app I get a great booth!
Very loud initially, tapered down after a while and became loud again at some point. There were not a lot of people there and they were "out of the Thai wings" after 1 order of 12! How can you be out of your best selling wings @ 5;30 pm, with nobody there? Wings were smaller than they were 1 year ago, the beer was good and cold, the server should have brought wet towels after the first order or two of wings (we had 3 orders). The servers and bartenders used to also be nice looking women when they opened, now mostly males except for the ones that seat the patrons. Overall experience: Average.
Overall great seats. The service at times slow. Would have spent more but rarely saw waitress.
It was a good experience.
This is a sports bar, albeit an upscale one, in which you get everything you would expect in a sports bar: loud passionate fans having a great time. If this is what you are looking for, go for it!
Awesome value at this place between 3-6pm: half price apps, good drink specials... the perfect spot to watch Champions League Soccer since the weekday games generally take place during happy hour. Highly recommend RS!
I adore the RSB! The staff is all exceptional in service and friendliness and the food and ambiance is fabulous.
